I was there too in the family stand..soon as we drew utd I couldn’t wait to see giggs and cantona..then Neville, butt, scholes, beckham turned up! I was fuming as a 10 year old! But you could tell even then that group of lads were just different class
@@nickyboy5511 I felt the same when I saw the Utd line up that night I was also disappointed I was 24 at the time in now 50 ...little did I know those guys would win the premiership the following season ....great times as a VALE fan! Hopefully we can stay in league two this season and have a better season next year at least we have great owners now 👍🏻
I was at this game as a vale fan we were disappointed Man Utd didn’t play the likes of Cantona ......and turned out players we’d never even heard of Scholes Beckham Neville Gillespie .....now when we talk about it .....it’s with a sense of pride that we saw them in the beginning of their careers
Passing range, shooting with both feet and heading the ball, movement, overall footballing intelligence, being humble and hard working throughout, the man had it all! Extraordinary talent. LEGEND. I rate him as joint top together with Zidane. And Zizou has some kind words for him too. I absolutely love him.

I do remember Scholes being a forward when he first came through. Only a hint of the SatNav passing and Charlton-eque shots that became his trademark. Not bad for a little asthmatic kid from Langley.
