This is great for the everyday guy. We all aren't pros and don't have all the electronics. It's hard to relate at times . I love it.
I gotchu bro. I fish on foot, kayaks, bay boats, 100k bass boats, Jon boats, and aluminum bass boats. I could be happy with any boat.
@BrianLatimerFishing the mark of a good man with humble beginnings. I am one of these simple men in Western Washington. I have an 09 16ft Lund Alaskan with a 50hp merc tiller. Just a lowrance hook reveal 7. Great info.
Good video. We fish from a 1999 2nd hand used pontoon with a1989 johnson. We had to spend a little money to get it running and legal, a little more for a generic 80lb thrust trolling motor and a garmin 2d 3 view depth finder. We enjoy it for a lot less than newer, more comfortable models .
I found a ranger rt188 for under 15k with a Yamaha 115hp and an 80 lb ultrex and absolutely love it. My 2 12" Garmins with FFS are worth almost half of what my boat is lol. Boat actually has more room in the deck than most big boy bass boats. I pay $250 a month and is almost paid off. You don't need a $100k rig to have a tournament setup. I don't even fish tournaments but I do fish for everything that swims in my area. I'm not buying a boat just to target one species.
Right on that’s a good boat too! I’ve own a few aluminums but not a ranger.
That's what I love about your channel. You prove you don't have to drop a ton of money to catch fish and have fun.
Damn B maybe I haven't watched a newer video lately but the editing and presentation is on point
Thanks man. I’m glad you like it!
Such a great video! I really like these types of videos!
Good video. I learned on just a depth finder and now have a good step up in electronics. But this shows it’s how you use what you got. Read the magazines watch the pros on videos and learn the habits of bass. It works
We all learned on a depth finder!!! That still works. It’s a lot of fun too.
Right before this one I saw a similar video but the boat was easily 80k + and I had come to the conclusion that I might not ever get a boat lol...this video changed that!! Appreciate you B.LAT
B Lat is an excellent spokesman for a brand and the sport. Thanks brother l hope you snag some big wins this year.
This is awesome...im 44...my dad side is from Charleston and we would visit EVERY summer from Atlanta and go fishing.....from the battery to Kiawah...from the Jetties to Sol Legre 😂😂😂 Keep up the good work B Lat!!!!
Cool! I’ve never fished the jetties but I’d love to.
This is a awesome video. I'm a blue collar dude, you are speaking my lingo brother! Merry Christmas!! Thank you for making great content. My lunch breaks are great because of you.
Merry Christmas.
Yeah buddy!
Merry Christmas and thank you for the average angler setup video, much respect and many wishes for getting to anywhere your trying to be.. keep these type of videos coming my guy
Thanks, you too!
Best fisher best motivation UA-cam I no I love all the videos..keep it coming 👑🙏💪
Thanks for the love man
i enjoy watching ur videos
Pretty cool 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thanks for watching
Been in the market for a bass boat. Really hate being a co anglers. While I’m learning as much as I can, just sucks back there lol. Saw this video and got super excited. Then I look up this vessel. lol. Just gotta keep saving. I’ll get there lol. Merry Christmas brotha
My first boat wasn’t brand new. Start where you are. The point of this video is to prove to you that you can catch fish regardless of the type of boat. I’ve owned about 20 high dollar bass boats and about 5 17ft or smaller boats. The fishing doesn’t really change. It’s a mindset change. The right boat is out there waiting on you to find it. GO FIND IT!
Keep after it man. You will get there. A simple boat, even simpler than this is out there for not crazy money.
Less can be more... Love the message
Merry Christmas!!
Same to you!
subbed because I like your style .
Thanks for this video I have the exact same boat same color and everything the only difference is I'm running hummingbird helix 7 and I've absolutely enjoyed the boat and have caught alot of bass this year love your content
Awesome! 1-10 how would you rank the helix? I’ve had some humminbirds before.
@@BrianLatimerFishing I've had no issues at all with the hummingbirds I've ran them all year and looking at adding a helix 10
Love the fishing, love the positivity, but I really just came to say….. those hoodies are 🔥
Appreciate it!! You can get one at shopblat.com
Great video! I have restored and modified an old Bass Hunter small 2 person boat, the best im able to financially since im on disability due to a back injury, and I feel like theres a huge gap between what i have and whats out there.. Thanks for reassuring me that what i have can still work! Love your videos buddy!!
Ohhh cool!! I restored one years ago. It’s a lot of work. Where do you normally take yours fishing?
@BrianLatimerFishing Well, there are 2 small DNR ponds near me, but they're closed till MAY now..😒.. So I go to either lake Julliette, lake tobesofkee, or lake Sinclair since I'm right between them. Sometimes I go to bond swamp off of the ocmulgee river... I usually take my 10yr old granddaughter... and she catches more than me almost every time.. lol.
To me this is a real BASS boat!
Did you Fizz them fish you caught in deep water . I work for the MLF and you would be surprised to how many anglers don’t no how. You should make a video showing the process 😊😊
Yeah! You can watch all the releases in SLOW MOTION!!! It depends on how deep you actually catch the bass. Not necessarily how deep you are fishing. Does that make sense?
Great video! How does the Lowe compare to the G3 you had? I’m looking to get an aluminum bass boat.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas Charles!
Will you do a walk around of that boat build?
Yeah I have. I’ll find the link
Anything new under 50 thousand dollars is budget for a complete package including taxes.
Best way to save money is a great deal on a used boat.
You are my favorite YT fisherman not named Richard Gene 😂 …. Thanks for making content relating to regular folks!! I’m looking to buy my first boat (aluminum) next year to introduce my 4yo daughter to fishing. I live in western NC so mostly small rivers. 17 foot rig big enough or are 18, 19 ft versions necessary and worth the added cost?
I would stay 18 or smaller. Once you start to get bigger it really defeats the purpose in having a smaller aluminum boat. Let me know when you’re in the market. I have a stinger for sale now! It’s like the one in the video it’s just grey instead of blue.
Brianlatimerstore@gmail.com
Now we’re talking- the average fisherman in an average boat.. nice
Fuel capacity and electronics are what makes it a good boat, make and year don't mean jack.
That’s good to know! What’s you’re favorite boat to fish out of?
Great idea and good delivery but how about you go to a lake that’s so incredibly tough and crowded that 4-5lbs win 25-30 boat tournaments! How about Greenwood in August or William C. Bowen anytime of the year lol. Love to see how you approach the toughest lakes in our state in search of 5 for 10lbs.

Let me know what else you need….
@@BrianLatimerFishing I remember this video well! I believe it was around the time I started following you. Love Greenwood in winter, grew up fishing it pretty hard. Had some friends drop a 30.5 lb bag just last year during winter.
What is crazy is the kayak tournaments..... they go by length, and some of the bigger tournaments I have fished would take over 20 pounds a day to win or to be in the top 5! All done in a kayak! Prime example that you don't have to have a 100,000 dollar bass boat to catch fish or to be competitive!
There’s kayaks out here that are more expensive than most aluminum boats!
When are you coming to the Potomac River
I won’t be there in 24’ unfortunately
While this is definitely cheaper than a 21’ Phoenix, it ain’t cheap. But you’re right, you don’t need the best of he best of the best to catch fish. My buddies and I fish out of 12ft Jon boats with no spot lock or electronics and hammer em.
What number is cheap in your mind?
@BrianLatimerFishing that's a great question. It varies doesn't it? I would say something you can tow with a minivan, or small SUV....and the boat can be picked up from a decent tax return....lol. I would venture under $6k
@@snicklefritzd3612I mean you can tow that thing with a mini van. I have a Ranger rt 198 and I you could pull it with a car if your ramp wouldn’t give you problems
@@BrianLatimerFishing I mean, is any of it really cheap? Less than $10k for us average joes. But I realize that brand new bass boats aren't those prices anymore. So I'd say anything under $20k.
Relative to the high end bass boats, the one you demoed is definitely cheaper by more than half, so I get what you're saying. And it looks to be an awesome boat by all accounts.
Good video. I wouldn't say "Budget".. But def a cheaper option. Keep up the good work. Budget IMO would be a Bass tracker for 18k ish. This boat is close to 40k after tax. Very nice boat.
There’s nothing in this boat that’s not on a tracker. Just remember that. That’s the message.
@BrianLatimerFishing I enjoy the videos. I got the concept. I was just saying for most people 35 40k would be their dream bass boat and not budget. Good to see you tearing them up. They have been a little slow here in Ms. Livescope is my next venture. I'm still using the old school down imaging.
@@SouthernStyleLawnCare thanks for the information.
Lets gooooo
First comment on this video!!!
Only 53 seconds in.. But this is a cool idea for a video
I hope you watched to the end!
@@BrianLatimerFishing Oh I did
Ive said it for years its NOT the boat its whos in that boat u could put KVD in a 14ft jon boat with.a 25 hp he could oufish most people
Yeah! It’s certainly part of the formula but often to much weight is placed on the boat. The next video I’ll be in my bass boat. I had just as much or more fun in this one! It’s a tool just like the wrenches in your tool boxes. Use the one that fits the job
I have always known the “slam” “inshore slam” to be red, trout and snook.?.?. Maybe just a geographical difference between SC. and FL.
It’s just 3 different species. It doesn’t matter what it is.
When you are fishing the deeper waters do you check the fish for signs of barotrauma?
You’ll notice each fish swim away. There’s no trauma!
@@BrianLatimerFishing I asked if you check not if they swam away but okay big guy..
@@sixfingerslinger2671 if you paid attention to his response instead of being a bitter hater you would have gotten the answer from his response
@@kcroyal5249 Instead of being a D rider maybe you could learn simple comprehension.
There is a ton of hate on this video. Good god.
B Lat, I just ran into your channel and I've been watching non stop because the production value is absolutely top notch!
I just picked up a 2024 Stinger 178 with a 115 ProXS CT on the back of it. Lowe's advertising about the rigs performance is pretty lacking and I have been building the boat for the last month. Between that and my newborn, I haven't been able to take it out. What kind of speeds are you getting out of that thing at wide open throttle? RPM? Tempest Plus prop on yours I'm assuming. What pitch is it?
I sent you tons of pictures on your IG of how it sits as of right now. Hope to hear back from you brotha!
Mine runs 42 mph. It’s not going to be super fast. I’ll do some speed vlogs on it!
@@BrianLatimerFishing looking forward to it man. I'll keep an eye out for your Vlogs! I threw a 6" jackplate on mine so that plus the foot shorter length it has, I'm hoping to see Ranger RT188P speeds if not better. I'd be pretty happy with 52-56 mph but I guess I'll have to wait and see how realistic or unrealistic that is with my setup.
Great video Brian. I love saltwater fishing, growing up in MD, that consisted of probably 80% of my fishing. What happened to the center console boat you had?
Is still have it
@@BrianLatimerFishing ok gotcha.
For the average man its not budget but its def cheaper than average brand new bass boat
Everything in life is subjective! You don’t have to have a lot to have fun and meet new friends in the process. That’s the message
Not the boat pictured, but I get a few of the points.
It’s actually the same hull. I just really like this picture
The picture is awsome, sir. Really appreciate your no-nonsense approach to fishing.@@BrianLatimerFishing
Hopefully those fish ain’t getting the bends. 🤔🤔
The quality on my Lowe skorpion 16 is really terrible. I wish I would’ve stepped up to a stinger
I’ve had 2 stingers. My 24 is ready to be sold. Let me know if you’re in the market. I love this boat! This year I’m ordering a bay boat.
@@BrianLatimerFishing how’s the quality on the stingers man? I’ll upgrade eventually, it’ll either be a lowe or an avid
@@BrianLatimerFishing hell if I had the money I’d buy yours just to meet u bro. I love your videos and I LOVE BASS FISHING! I’m an ICU nurse so fishing is how I stay sane. Merry Christmas!
@@mattman8822 I would highly recommend the Lowe for a few reason. Dealer and manufacturer support is unmatched. There’s a endless web of Lowe dealers. There’s a reason for that. Secondly it’s a bigger platform. That means more storage
I have a crack on my 14 stinger 175 transom had to learn to weld aluminum its little overloaded miss matched power poles jack plate .
Some peoples " budget " means something totally different.
That’s why they make different boats for different people!
Of course you can catch bass with cheap lures and boats.
Cheap…… that’s questionable!!!
Great video, I enjoyed watching this video, I produced some great fishing videos on my UA-cam channel as well. Cheers 🥂 🎣👏💪🎥👍🍻
Glad you enjoyed
Did y’all have to pay the $50 something boat ramp fee to put in at Isle of Palms Marina?
Oh yeah! It’s cheaper than building my own ramp!🤣
Budget bass boat? Or bass boat for the normal fella
This is my budget boat
you can see the active target transducer on the trolling motor when he is srpaying it off at the end 🤦♂️🤣🤣
Can you highlight the active target segment?
Budget boat? Do those even exist anymore?
Of course!!! Budget is always relative to the angler. My budget isn’t necessarily lebron James budget but it works. The narrative that you need 30k in electronics to catch any species of fish is false
@@BrianLatimerFishing That part I totally agree with.
There is not "Budget Bass Boat" the way you have it tricked out with power poles, etc. The bass boat may be but when you add HDS units and the other accessories I checked the down arrow key. I went to the Lowe's website and tried to build a cheap boat and could not find one for under $35k. To me that's not a budget boat. Also trailer had a few accessories that don't come with a budget boat package.
There’s no power poles. This boat has 2 d sonar. Literally anyone can buy 2D sonar. There’s not a unit that you can buy that doesn’t have the things in this video.
Your budget isn’t necessarily everyone’s budget. A budget is relative to the person and not necessarily you individually. However this is certainly a budget priced machine comparatively.
I'll trade you MY budget BB for YOUR budget BB
But would could you handle my responsibilities?
hehehhhe package deal eh? I'll get back to you on that.
Saw you on MLF over the weekend@@BrianLatimerFishing
Right. But that boat is still what 30-40k? Not exactly “budget”
115hp
18ft
No livescope
No gps trolling motor
No shallow water anchors
Single axle trailer
7k-35k from used to new
Typical bass boat
4 graphs
2 FFS units
250hp
Hydraulic jack plate
Tandem axle
GPS trolling motor
Shallow water anchors
Lithium batteries
Power harness
Graph brackets
Boat cover
Bow steps
Deck lights
Deck padding
Compartment led lights
50k-90k from used to new
THATS A BIG GAP‼️ 100%+ increase
The story shows you that you can have fun fishing regardless of the boat you’re in. Even if it doesn’t have all the amenities that other boats have. I own both. I can tell a truthful experience from both sides. There’s isn’t a boat that could make me enjoy fishing more. I can fish from a kayak and carry the same enthusiasm about the sport. That was the message.
It's awesome to see B Lat interacting with his peeps. I had no clue what a top tier bass boat has on it.
Except that boat isn’t cheap by any means. I have been looking at one.
I never said it was cheap. I wouldn’t own a cheap boat!
@@BrianLatimerFishing Well budget. It is a little on the cheap side since they are still making it with wood though. Hard to believe they did a redesign and are still using wood.
All your boat needs to do is get you where the fish are. Anything beyond that is unnecessary fluff. I have a ‘99 Ranger R73 sport with a 115 fast strike and I can get to the fish the same as a $100,000 tricked out boat. Unless you’re fishing for a living don’t fall into the trap that spending more money catches more fish. Invest in your skills, not your boat and electronics.
I’m most cases it’s pretty simple!
When did a 50k plus bass boats become “budget?” 50k ain’t budget. 50k is debt. Stop telling kids 50k is budget. Budget is what you can afford without going into debt.
Where did you find that information? That’s false. Yes you are correct. This is my budget bass boat. No debt.
Lowes boats website. Build it on their site. It’s easily over 50k.
“You literally watch what’s about to go down”
That ain’t cheap. Sad to see you thinking this is norm and CHEAP for most of us.
I’m so sorry that you feel like you can’t afford a boat. I can show you how to fish but I can’t be your financial consultant.
Showing the world that you don't need a bunch of money to bass fish is going to get you voted off the island !!!
I own my island! 😉
Hah budget bass boat, isn't that a 40K boat?
A brand new Lowe stinger is in the mid 30s. A brand new fiberglass boat is in the mid 80s. Using 2D sonar 2 rods and a 18ft aluminum boat on a single axle is how most anglers start. So yeah. This is speaking to anglers with smaller less technically equipped rigs. Anyone can buy this equipment I’m using. And package out anything from a kayak to a 10ft Jon boat.
What is a “budget” bass boat? lol
A boat that fits what you can afford.
@@BrianLatimerFishingI hear ya. I think the point was one of those don’t really exist for a lot of people lol.
