      Thanks, but no thanks. I follow the rule- NO CHINESE MADE RODS! I prefer rod blanks made in USA by hand. Gary Loomis is GOD! Another great rod company is Airrus. I still have a great collection of U.S. made Falcon rods and today all of their rods are made in China and I won't buy another. MudHole makes all their rods in China as well and I won't touch theirs either. The problem with Chinese made rods is American companies cannot get the Chinese to adhere to strict quality controls. So what happens is that the Chinese companies who can't understand a word of English make a bunch of rods and ship the entire production run to USA and the U.S. brand then has to sort through each and every rod they receive and do their own quality control in USA and reject rods that don't measure up. Todd Vivian at MudHole has to do this with every shipment since he does not make the rods stateside. The Chinese simply do not have high quality control standards and we saw it again when St. Croix tried making rods in China and failed miserably because of this very reason and has now moved production of much of their lineup to Mexico where they can have a more direct oversight on quality controls. So, yeah, no thanks on the Chinese rods. I hope next time you get a rod sponsor that you sign up with a company that makes all their rods IN the USA. Call Gary Loomis or Alex Maslov at North Fork Composites! Or call up Airrus rods and get hooked up to the highest quality most advanced rods on the planet made in USA only. Just sayin'... and congratulations on that win! Amazing! Great accomplishment!

    • @Cagey-1
      @Cagey-1 5 днів тому

      I'd like to add, that take Falcon rods as an example- When they made rods in USA and made a high quality product they had a specific price point. Once they moved production to China and began making cheaper lower quality rods, Falcon did not lower the price point to match where their costs now were. So what happened is that now Falcon had lower expenses on each rod, but still wanted to sell them at the same price point as their former quality U.S. made rods. In other words making increased profits now by making each rod now come with an artificially inflated price that was not in line with the product any longer. MudHole and American Tackle do the same thing. And it is costing them business. Fishermen I speak to and rod builders all call American Tackle- China Tackle because ALL of their products are made in China and have no connection to anything USA other than the company selling that stuff. Again, prices are artificially inflated unreasonably. Go to Walmart and look at the prices for cheap chinese rods. This is where MudHole and Falcon pricing should also be at and possibly Favorite brand rods as well. These companies seem to expect me to pay them artificially inflated prices for cheaply made chinese rods with lower quality controls. If I want cheap chinese rods I can go to Walmart and Academy Sports and Dick's and buy a boat load of cheap chinese rods with prices more in line for the product. I remember back when Fishing13 came out with their first Omen Black rods and I wanted one, but the problem is virtually every single one them had tips snapping off. I decided real fast to forget about any Fishing13 rods made in China. It is a shame we have American citizens making all of their products in foreign countries and jacking up the prices artificially and intentionally taking advantage of us all by doing so. And it is for this reason that if I am going to spend the big bucks on fishing rods, then I expect higher quality and more bang for the buck and I expect my rod blanks to be handmade in USA by real Americans. Just my opinion on the subject. Favorite brand rods are not made in USA and they want how much per rod? Yeah not happening. For those prices, I am calling Gary Loomis.

      BLKCFII why does it have to be color based?? Why must it be based on race? What can the fish see your skin color? Or was it because B had wonderful parents that showed him about what these beautiful lakes can hold, and showed him how to be a MAN and not beat in his head you can’t do this or that cause of the “White man” will stop you.. like come on! That’s what’s wrong with the world, everything is someone else’s fault.....

    Brother, I was in tears watching this...the memories of my father taking me out on the lake. I am just getting back into this and I have a 12 year old with autism, but he just caught his first 7 lb catfish. The excitement and joy across his face was priceless. It's been 10 years since Dad passed and just tonight I found his tackle box at his house...I had no idea I would be overwhelmed with emotions and just stand there and cry...I am soooo happy your father was there to see this!! I now need to do what you, your father, and mine did...share this awesome sport with mine. Congrats B.Latimer!!

    Thank you for sharing. Every time I see the look on your wife’s face as they are weighing the fish and her struggle to keep it together is precious - behind every great man is a greater woman. You are blessed in so many ways. When you won you snatched up your son and huddled with your wife and baby, that says a lot about your priorities in life and as a man. I did not know your dad was there. I would have loved to have seen when you got together with him. I’ll bet the emotions flowed then.

    Brother, I gotta thank you. You have completely (almost single-handedly) reinvigorated my passion. I’ve had a passion for bass fishing since I was 5. Got married, and lost the drive. Didn’t go as much as I wanted to. About a year ago, my wife decided she wanted something different. I suddenly had a lot of free time. I started getting that itch back as I was searching for some way to spend my time and keep my mind off of things. I was down near Okeechobee for work two weeks ago, and it didn’t take long to find your “My First Major League Fishing Event” video. Since then I’ve watched dozens of your videos just soaking all the information in and scraping off the rust of my skills.
    This video in particular, had me sweating for you, sobbing with you and screaming with you. Man, you don’t even know the impact you have on people. Keep grinding man. Keep doing you. We’re right there with you, cheering you on (and hopefully joining you on the trail one day). God bless

    LOL at his repeated disobedience of his own instruction to preserve his voice. PASSION to go with talent.
    Last edit- OK his wife at the weigh in killing me. That's......just awesome :)

    I watched this video like a hundred times and I still get emotional. To have your family by your side watching this was incredible. Just the look on your son's face watching and couldn't imagine what he's thinking. Just absolutely incredible and happy for you bro. You and MDJ are my true favorite anglers. Just the passion you guys share is mind blowing. Awesome job, keep making those vids bro!

    I watched this entire tournament from day one... Just like Takahiro Omori in the BMC, Brian had something going on that nobody could stop! He had a simple rhythm add confidence, and he became unstoppable! My wife asked me , as the contest was over, why I was crying.... I informed her that I just witnessed a good man fulfill his dream ... I’ve watched Ike, Kevin, Cox, Evers, and all the old timers win... but, nothing is more special than watching/ seeing the underdog put it all together, and become a champion! Love it!

    Way to go BLat!!!!! I have never seen more passion for tournament bass fishing than what you have- Truly an inspiration. The difference between you and most people is you did not quit when you lost all those big fish- You kept going, you kept trying...And it paid off! Way to go- I have insane respect for you!!!!!

    Man I like happy endings. I found it interesting that Brian's emotions for his win transferred thru the video, even two years later. But wait, "they" say that we're all individuals with no real connection to each other except thru family, but then, I see the love and support all around Brian that reinforces my belief that there is a deeper energetic connection between all people.
    Look at Bill Lowen's 1st win at Pickwick this year, when the heart of America was pulling for Bill to win, even from the other anglers. Then in the final moments, Bill caught that 9.4 to take his first BASS win and the joy reflected by Bills family was priceless. I see more wins to come for the Latimer family.

    Great job B.Lat. I just watched this video, and it brought me to tears. I started when I was about 9 or 10 years old. I’m now 60
    years young. I love fishing. I’m just getting back into it. Nothing like that fish fight. Maybe one day I’ll get to meet you , and do some fishing. Good luck my Brother. You deserved that big Win. I’m definitely a subscriber to your channel. It was a blessing for Pops to witness, as well as your wife and kids.🙏🏼💯👏👏

    The most POWERFUL THING you said was you had everything growing up. 2 parents. With everything going on in this world the HOME still matters. My heart breaks for the AA community. So many broken homes! It's sad. Loving and supportive parents can start you off right. The rest however is up to You. Your work ethic was the ingredient that kept you going through the tough times. You are a true inspiration to those who say you cant! Great job you can and YOU did!

    How have I missed you? All through the video I was reminded of teenage years and I'm 60 now. You would love my brothers Leonard and Aubrey, and some who have passed now. You are a fine example of who a person is that follows his path. That first image of you as very young with a large bass then winning with a large bag for first place...same kid! I'm glad I subscribed just for this video and to meet you. Win some more brother for us!
