      to be fair byakugan does not help you much..all it does is allow you to sense chakra see it in colors from afar and see chakra points...it does not enhance your skills..you still have to train in gentle fist in rotation and the palms/body blow techniques to become good..it just allows you to access that chakra but in the end its still hard work...sure having good main branch genes helps neji for example be great at it but still.

    • @fangiscool1
      @fangiscool1 3 роки тому +38

      I agree, but also him having another moment had no place in the series. The series moved away from the hard work beats talent theme after the chunin exam arc, so it wouldn't thematically fit anywhere.

      @@fangiscool1 And for me, that kinda underscores my issue with the series in general. I love Naruto but i kinda wish it had went in a slightly different direction. Or at least not done away with the hard work over inherent power and destiny theme. Idk how to describe it best but something about part 1 felt more "ninja" like and I preferred that. Shippuden was great but felt a bit DBZ esque.

    • @fangiscool1
      @fangiscool1 3 роки тому +34

      @@YoungYahtz94 I definitely wish Naruto went another direction. I really liked it through the rescue sasuke arc. I did not enjoy any of the rest of the series, except the Shikamaru vs Hidan arc. That was gold. Pretty much everything that really stuck out to me to love the series disappeared over time. Rock Lee was my favorite character when I was younger and his arc (or lack thereof) was pretty sad. They made Guy a more central character than Lee, which doesn't make any sense. I really like Guy too, but the guy's entire connection to anything is just that Kakashi knows him and he's powerful. He could pretty much be removed from the story and nothing in the large scheme of things changes (except Lee). I don't really get how young characters who were connected to Naruto were put in the background and an irrelevant character like Guy was brought forward. Again, I'm glad Guy got more screen time because I like him, but he is basically entirely replaceable by any strong Jonin. Lee is not.

    • @unc54
      @unc54 3 роки тому +20

      @@fangiscool1 Guy is a fundamentally better character than Lee. He is basically everything Lee is but he has more depth behind it. People like Lee but he's a very one-dimensional character. Everyone says Lee would make a better protagonist than Naruto but the series would be so generically shonen that it would have ceased to exist.
      There is a reason why Kishimoto moved away from Lee but still held on to someone like Shikamaru.

The best fights in Naruto are the hand-to-hand combat. Naruto and Sasuke’s fist-fights, Kakashi and Obito’s fight.... They speak for themselves. That was a line worth putting us in awe of the kid - "Had he been placed against anyone else in his class during his exams, the handsome devil would have won." He is the Saitama of their world, and to achieve that strength and speed as a teenager with his whole life of adult training ahead of him. As a combatant at the time he was surpassing everyone else at his education level and was capable of overcoming the abilities of one of the tailed beasts- even if in a restricted state. Had that fight been decided earlier and Lee not been injured, we can only wonder how much more he would have achieved quickly because succeeding in entering the profession wouldn't have been enough for him. He wanted to do the job well, not just get the job. And he could have been one of the strongest ninja by just continuing to surpass his own previous maximums, and finding new ways to improve himself when he hit plateaus that the human body could no longer surpass- muscles and bones can only be so strong and operate so quickly before destroying themselves attempting to do more.

Just a fatty who had never done any sports) At the end of this summer, the chubby book nerd lost 10kg and got jacked up, ready to smash that bastard. So I went to his appartement.
    Neighbor: oh that family moved out, kido. Yeah during this summer.
    11y/o me:…💪😳
    So the lesson here is yep it’s absolutely true your effort can’t often be payed off in your life. But I started enjoying some sports and became the captain of basketball team in middle school🫡 I’m adult now. I’ll never forget thanking that bully and Rock Lee to change my life.

    I like Rock Lee because he autistic and he is the true hero since isn’t from a special lineage. He worked hard to get where he is at.

    I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for this. Rock Lee has always been my favorite character because of how much I identified with him, never having any talent but always refusing to quit. Always wanting to prove everyone wrong. To see him get this treatment and acknowledgement hits home so much for me and brings a tear out. I know I’m not the only one who feels this deeply about Lee, so this one is for us boys. The fuckin underdogs that’d rather die for our dreams than quit.

    Hard work vs talent , while you were talking this reminded me about Ronaldo and Messi, Lebron and Jordan... not saying that Messi or Jordan didn't put that work in. But they had that spark, something that you can't replicate with hard work, and ultimatelly made them the greatest at their sport. But ... hard work in itself represent success, Ronaldo, Lebron, the determinarion, consistency made the great as well.

    Rock lee is Naruto if Naruto was intelectually honest
    Naruto (the show) is all about the underdog beating natural talent throught hard work
    But Naruto (the character) has 50 times more chakra than anyone, has a mega demon dog in his stomach, his dad was the president his uncle was a legendary warrior, his dad's master was also a president, etc etc etc. The only thing making him the underdog is that someone fucked up and didnt take responsability of him so he had to grow up poor, but genetically speaking he's quite litterally jesus incarnate.
    Meanwhile Rock Lee was also had to grow up poor and without parents, but he didn't have a magic dog or a divine bloodline he's just a talentless fuck, born to die, in world where everyone but him has super powers
    I love the concept of Naruto(the Show) but they betray their own lessons and morals way to badly, in this world only those born with power are allowed grow into someone important and fullfil their dreams
    Lee couldn't even score with his childhood crush Sakura, which would've been epic since Sakura also had to take an unortodox approach to power since she has no talent other than being a heal bot, both of them could've been an unbeatable raw physically strenght team, but no she had to be forced into a toxic relationship with a criminal because he has the good genes and is the co-protagonist
    While Lee had to be forced into a loveless relationship with the most useless 0 Screen time character in the entire show, Ten Ten, who has nothing in common with him, Lee is all about melee combat while Ten Ten summons a tornado of junk to hit ppl with from range... in a fight they would synergize like shit Lee being constantly in the line of sight of Ten Ten while she forces Lee to circle around the battle field because her junk is always in the way.
