Let's just take another moment to give thanks for your helmet, without which, who knows what would have happened. A huge reminder to everyone to wear your helmet, wear a good helmet, and wear it properly. If you don't know how to wear your helmet properly, there are tons of videos on here that will walk you through it. Be safe out there and heal up quickly Jeff.

Agreed! Adjusted my straps after that video. Get well, Jeff! Thanks for the content!
Omg hilarious perspective. I keep reports for every real & practice race, and Blaine yelled at me to "TAKE A CHANCE, MAN UP" near the end, the same way you pressured him earlier on. I also thought we were 2-to-go on the final, which is why I soft-roll at 7:11... which had a funny effect of not aggroing anyone. Wow thanks for the recap fun memories!
Jeff, crit racing newbie here. I just raced my first crit few days ago and oh boy it didnt go as planned. I trained so bad aka on my trainer working on my engine but got dropped the moment we hit the corners. I did not know how to take those corners at high speed with people around me. So frustrating that I worked hard but couldnt even hang with the group. Could you make a video on how to take corners?
I’d love to see this kind of video too
@00:50 Jeff - rocky road!!
Come on, is that a Geologist joke;)
That was a dang good sprint, so strong!
I'm glad I found the UA-cam channel. I enjoy the talked out strategy and telemetry. I used to watch on ROKU but there is a loud buzzing sound.
I so agree with you! Jeff, watching your video allowed me to understand the work and strategy behind any wins. This is not something I was familiar with.
Hopefully these keep you motivated. Never fun to crash at the beginning of the season.
I'm sad you're injured. Love the videos. Get better soon Jeff.
I love it! Great to see your videos back & happy to see that you are well enough to crank these out. BTW.. Blaine saying "F@ck you" is actually translated "Love you" in Blaine-speak.
Crank these out? Look at this guy, bike comedy.
Thanks, Jeff. Thank goodness for the archive. Heal up fast and well.
Ah! I’m glad to see you up. After my broken collarbone I couldn’t even sit at my PC for 4 or 5 weeks. Speedy recovery but not push more than necessary - some things just needs time 👍
A ROCKY road for you? I see what you did there Mr. Geologist :)
😎
LOL, Blaine was 100% correct with that response. I think it was an attack on an attack on an attack in that final break away, I would have hated everyone at that point
Heal well Jeff. Can you document the bike triage, what was salvaged, what was scrapped, and how the rebuild went? Give your helmet manufacturer a shout out too!
Might be time for for more material from around the world. cheers
Love your video's Jeff👍 I hope you have a speedy recovery👍
6:30 best part of the video! 😂 Speedy recovery!
"F*** you, Jeff!" LOL! Love it.
Rode with Ray, Chris and Roman yesterday. They're coming to the POO (Port Of Oakland) next week. You'll have to join when you're back on the bike.
That yellow bar during the promo is brilliant!
Speedy healing & recovery Jeff!
You should get a Skillshare crit racing video to that guy who braked in front of you at your crash.
Great video (yet another). Hope ur recovery is going well Jeff. Be interesting to see a video of alviso without you and how the dynamics and tactics of it all plays out now.
I wore my full face Downhill Helmet while watching this video.
Its for your speedy recovery mr norcal racer.
Bravo on the win. I was wondering how you knew you'd catch the 3 ahead in the last 100 meters? I'm thinking uh oh gotta catch them but you were super confident.
0:51 Geologist pun? 👍🤣❤
does skillshare have lessons on how to get ur sprint wattages? :D
😂😂😂
Liked the ad bar on the top of the skillshare piece
Glad to see you are healing up well!! Cheers!!
Also helps to be able to hit 1300 watts after an hour of racing!! lol
doesnt' hurt that's for sure. But powerful sprints out of position still don't win. You can win a race with a very modest sprint if you're positioned perfectly
awesome strategy, really learn a lot from your videos! Hope you recover soon 💪🏻💪🏻
Dude, I wouldn’t work with you for a second. I think he had it right.
true, i wouldn't work with me either lol
how do you get the video overlay for heart rate, speed and the map? thanks, also great vids always a great way to get hyped to ride
OK, does anybody else want to hear geological references in future videos now? “This area is famous for the San Ardo Oil Field, set in a few thousand feet of sand, resting on top of granodioritic basement rock…”
be careful what you wish for
Those open roads and parked cars always make me nervous...
Rly love your content. For me its not quite clear how this bars on the bottom left match with your video, but i love it!
Edit: get well soon mate
No wonder your breakaway companions don’t want to bring you to the line, you’re crushing the sprints even when out of position.
Jeff do you have a running tally of how many times you’ve won Alviso?
Also I’m loving these videos, I’ve been getting into cycling more lately but I will probably never race a bike! But these videos are so well put together with all the stats etc and it’s so fascinating all the tactics, I had no idea!
What go pro mount do you prefer for racing?
you absolutly dust people at the end. nice work.
41 miles per hour is 67 kilometers per hour. My top speed to date is 41 kilometers per hour and that was going down a steep descent in a fully tucked position. So tucked I could have licked my front tire.
ey mate, i am a big fan of the channel even though i don't have a bike. i pray for your fast recovery.
3:44 With saddlebag in the race :)
Hi Jeff, can you show us the correct way how u hold the dropbar. U looks so confortable holding the reach
Thanks!
Would be nice if you could mention the date (or stick it in the video description).
question what type of workouts or training do you do other than riding to be able to keep a speed of 20mph+ ? i would say im pretty athletic ran track in my younger years and now transitioning to cycling but i just can't keep those speeds for that long, any information will help
What data screens are on Jeff’s Garmin head unit?
Goddamn you smoked those guys at the end, way to go Jeff!
What do you use to get fit for the season?
what gear your in 66kph? noob question thanks for answering
Question from a noob - if the field always catches the break within the first few laps or so, why not just ride with them? Why always bridge?
it's not always, and "the field" who chases is also me, sometimes with a few others. so instead of towing the whole field, i'd rather try to solo bridge.
Are you wearing a chest mount when filming?
I watched this earlier but had to come back... damn ... Jeff is a geologist ... lol wild... how old is the sphinx dude, wtf, where is this content ... max is prob an archeologist
love the video, you make my heart pump
Hope you get better soonnn!!!
Great race! Get well!
Get well soon!
Hopefully you can get back and running like in this video. Get soon Jeff.
soon enough!
Alviso is crazy
Harley said he has a CAAD 10 for ya. Jussayin.
Love it!!
Tarmac SL7 question: I'm considering getting one but the Roneval CLs seem to only run tubes. At that price I'd like the option of tubeless. Is anyone running them tubeless? Any suggestions for solving this? Great channel Jeff!
not suggested, just run tubes unless you're doing gravel or really crappy roads.
Masterclass
Can you please tell my why people race with their Saddle Bags still attached?
California bike racing is so f--d up in Oregon you would never ever ever have park cars on a criterium course!!!
Why I can't reach 65 km/h with hybrid bike? I hit 40 km/h at max but it's so windy then, and my legs are working like bee wings. I would like to reach 40 km/h easier...
Get well soon Jeff
Hope you recover soon bud. Glad to see that you are up and running again.
Wait I thought he was a full time UA-camr. Holy cow a Geologist? How does he have time to ride and race and make videos?
Especially because he WINS these races. Like I thought he was a pro level athlete
A geologist?! You're basically a semi major character from South Park at this point. How are you on Euler poles then? 🤣
That parked vehicle course has Egan Bernal written all over it though....would scare me to death.
Let's just play the bit where I oh so brilliantly win the race in slow motion... 🤣😂 but seriously, nicely done and get well soon.
so where I'm from, we hold our weekly crits at the state fair grounds, where we have clear closed roads that are barely used most of the year. Sometimes they hold Crits at a local college that has a great parking lot that also gets used for car racing. Why are you guys racing on active roads, that's terrifying!!!
Hello jeff have u ever try to change the hood more inside then ur arm can put it on the handlebar and ur body will get lower which means its more aero
cat 5 alert
@@roejogan1759 whats that
@@chiggass8004 i'm just kidding... when cat 5 (newbie) racers start racing (me included) they think of getting faster by doing unnecessary and bogus tricks... although turning the hoods will make you a little less comfortable. noone becomes remco when you turn your hoods in tho XD
@@roejogan1759 yup i agree with ubut once i change my hood to more inside im feel better the hood is straight so i think its really subjective to everyone
Looking at your metrics on screen makes me think my Peloton isn't quite accurate.
But I'm just a fat kid with a spare bedroom so what do I know.
Amazing
How is Gerome doing? Any news from him?
Very impressive 👍🏻
Bring back Helen!!!
LOL a lot of people skipped the first 10s of the video
Anyone here have a trifox frame or components? Are they any good?
So do you need people to edit you videos?
Fancy taking a chance and making some merch? 👕
❤️
Feels good to be this early❤️
Yep
You're really strong
Why do people race with their saddle bag still on?
Never know when you’re gonna get a flat!
Yea, they really slow you down on those Alviso hills!!
Because while some people do drive their bikes to the start, a lot of us do ride there from home or work, on debris-laden roads. Nice to be prepared.
@@keganconnick2315 makes sense!
i thgought you had the geologist look about you, i too lick rocks and ride bikes
Oh weird Jeff won
Why is it Allways Sunny 😢
california 💲🤑💲🤑
you should tell us how it happened. I mean, your crash.
i made a video about it
how you became a profesional cyclist
Almost spit my dinner out at ua-cam.com/video/DWZ3TrGHQHU/v-deo.html.
These cyclists will fight the federal reserve and start a revolution.
As a geologist what do you think of chinese carbon vs. american? Big difference? Or just marketing and patriotism?
What does that have to do with geology?
@@Osamedejones Does carbon fiber not come from the earth? Is it extra terrestrial? 😕
@@eljeferaider Carbon fiber isn't some naturally occurring resource that's mined like iron, it's synthetic. Likewise I'd expect that to be in the expertise of a materials scientist not a geologist...
@@Osamedejones Google says its made from carbon atoms. Humans are made of carbon atoms aren't they? We are naturally re occurring.
@@eljeferaider Right..and just because humans are made of carbon, would you go see a geologist when you're sick?
Prefer these 6min videos rather than 14 min ones. Hope you get well soon!
How come you guys can race on roads through red lights etc. even though there don't seem to be marshalls stopping trafic?
