    Nice story ! I done a 5 day course then just practiced 6 days a week at home after work for 2 years with car bonnets in my living room! Must of gone through 3 in total
    Then I bought a second hand car and smashed dents in that for 6 months during covid . After lockdown I had my first paid job 😊pdr is like learning the piano bloody hard!!!
    Currently in my 5th year of pdr

      That's how I got started too, 5 day course, then practicing at home on scrap panels before buying a whole scrap car to play with. If you can it's the best way as you get to work on a variety of panels with plenty of R&I practice too. Congratulations on 5 years in, hard work and motivation pays off 👍🏻

    I'm a full time auto body tech and earn decent money but have invested a good chunk of money into a variety of PDR tools. Keep telling myself I'll get into it and still haven't but this is pushing to sign up and actually change career paths while I still can. My goal has always been to work for myself instead of under someone else's business in the same building/shop.

      Yes 100% I was a full time body tech myself before I started working for myself and I have zero regrets in taking that leap, It's not always easy but I do love it and always happy to talk more about my own experiences

    Very good film. I really like watch your movies and chats with people from the industry. I have s question about practice methods. Tom H said he made a cross on the panel and tried to do high spot in the center of it, then knock it down back. Do you have any other practice methods? Cheers!

    • @LearnPDROnline
      @LearnPDROnline  Рік тому

      Thanks Damian I'm glad you are enjoying them. Yes we have practical training exercises, instead of crosses we start with circles to try and create a high in the middle and then we have a high spot to practice knocking down, there are a few different ways you can create a variety of high spots by using different tips and also pulling with glue, we also have ways to recreate a crown to practice tap down work. Pushing accuracy is key to a clean repair though so make sure you spend plenty of time getting your accuracy right. try different size circles gradually getting smaller or a box with a cross in where you can hit the centre of all 4 squares, once we move on to practise with small dents that are a few more training examples for different types of dent too with both rods and glue!
