Scott is criminally underappreciated for what he did with Thin Lizzy.. Other greats in the band got all the praise, but he was always there making it work.
Scott Gorham is a very melodic player and a good songwriter. But the other guys (Brian Robertson, Gary Moore, and John Sykes) were just on a higher level. And it takes huge balls to play with them, Scott did and always managed to retain his individuality and shine through. In this case he’s really underrated.
Scott is just a great guy with a wonderful attitude who happens to be a phenomenally good guitarist. Phil Lynott trusted him more than pretty much anyone else which speaks volumes.
Scott gorham will eternally be in my top 5 great guitarists……he wasn’t a super technical noodler instead he had feel rhythm and swing and it’s guys like Scott that paint the musical canvas for all the tappers and noodlers of this world so they can look cool Id much rather have Scott’s feel than be some 6 string glory boy.
Wow! Can't believe the comments re. Ricky, Scott, Thin Lizzy and The Black Star Riders 😮 Some of you guys clearly know jack about the history of Thin Lizzy post Phil's passing. The BSR lineup here are is the latest incarnation of a band spawned by none other than Scott Gorham himself! Might I suggest you take some time to read the excellent Wiki page about The Black Star Riders and gen up on the genesis of the band. I believe there's copious amounts of humble pie needs eating
Scott had way better stage presence than the other leads in Thin Lizzy. Robertson, Moore, and Sykes didn't make Thin Lizzy. Scotts melody and Phil's voice did.
@@elwilly63That was probably their best line up. John Sykes came in around 1983 - if they'd continued a bit longer they could have re-created that classic Lizzy sound, but Scott effectively pulled the plug on Lizzy by quitting the band to quit the drugs.
Sorry but the singer guy over Americanises his singing, ain't even in the same ball park as, 'Phil (😇) Would imagine if he were singing the band name it would be' Bleek Sterh Ridaahs 'he just over does it. Ain't for me Thin Lizzy they ain't, would near have Brian Downeys band, a bit rougher, but something more' honest'

They certainly are not Thin Lizzy. Never tried to be. It’s Black Star Riders. I suggest you Google them to get the background history.

They never intended to be. They were formed by Scott Gorman obviously x Thin Lizzie and Ricky Warwick from The Almighty
You do know that Ricky Warwick is from Belfast Ireland... and a lot of Americanisms hail from Ireland don't you...
