actually stacking propellers behind each other does reduce thrust per propeller. you wouldn't usually go beyond 2 for thrust. stacked propellers are good for compressing air. if this doesn't make sense to you then allow me to explain. imagine a tube with many propellers along it, each trying to accelerate the air from the previous. the amount of air going in has to be the same as the amount going out, so as each fan speeds up the air it gets stretched out, which means pressure drops, aka you get closer to a vacuum, and propellers do not work in vacuum. Also, speeding up faster air requires more power, which means less thrust for the same power. the one benefit stacking propellers has is contra-rotation, but you only need two for that.
@aerbon I wasn't being very specific, but I was talking about contra-rotating propellers, like the big ones I had at the back for yaw and pitch control. Contra-rotating propellers create less turbulence than single props, and are actually significantly MORE efficient than two singles (not as powerful as two singles, but more fuel and space efficient).
@@thathitmann8282 props are actually sick, I've tinkered with them, and their thrust is so high it doesn't really matter if you lose a bit of power - I have a dreadnought that's reaching 2m with only dual props for lift with HA grates over them, and it dies long before it loses lift. just add a ton to your craft

Can I just say, you fell for the same exact pitfall in armoring that the Pyre did. That being wedgespam. Wedges are not god. Wedges in 80% of scenarios are bad. Wedges are only good vs high energy kinetics. Though, to give you some credit, the pyre also has shitty weapons that fire high energy kinetics(which is why they're bad, high energy kinetics are bad, just use pac or laser for pierce weapons smh). Though, you propably could've used a lams system to shoot down the shells as well, or stay super far away and evade. If you're wondering how best to kill it with a straight up brawl, the answer is flank it, dump crams into it from the flank, and defend missiles with interceptors(best anti large missile in the game other than dodging) and the cannons you are best off tanking or using lams, eitherway they're suboptimal cannons anyway since they're iirc Railgun kinetics(absolute garbage). Alternative to crams from flanking is dumping mass numbers of missiles, which tend to hit from the sides, which is where the pyre is weak on. However, if you want to really hit the face of the pyre, you want to use Plasma. Remember when I said wedges are really bad? Yeah, Plasma is exceedingly potent against HA wedges. Wedges make big & chonky plasma shots over 2-4 times more effective. Also, iirc the Kobold is atm the most optimized & cost efficient craft in from the depths campaign, esp when it gets its brain update. Even that is easy to hard counter and beat, though it actually needs really dedicated counters that can both hit it through its evasion, and chunk through its thick & bulky armor before it drills holes deep into your craft that disable your weapons. Or the classic flank attack tactics which are the bane of all frontsiders.
