Just so you know, you were supposed to disable the live system at the start as instructed by the chat/questbook. That is why you don't gain any lives. The shells were supposed to be your respawns. So while the death still counts due to the lack of a shell, spawning in additional lives was perfectly fine.
Good to know. I've have zero experience with that mod, so mistakes were expected. I don't know if anyone else will play this but it's very good information.
I just downloaded the pack a couple of days ago and it worked as intended for me with no fiddling. I didn't use any hqm commands but the shells still worked as my only respawns. Maybe it got solved with updates to the pack, so the sign is obsolete?
You can actually tell what tasks take your items because it says "consume task" (rather than "detection task") on the left and there's a "select task" button
Ah yes, those older modpacks can have a steep learning curve, especially because some of them got an mechanics update in newer versions and finding a tutorial about them, can be a challenge in itself XD Also, few tips that can help you in the future: -If you put cobble slabs around the pyrrotheum source, you won't have random fires popping out 8) -I don't know about this one, but I think watering cans can speed up cactus's growth 8/ Worked for me in the modpacks I've played. -Output of steam turbines from that mod depends on the type of coil blocks, amount of them and the number of blades. The biggest turbine can output around 27 000RF, though it depends on the modpack. The biggest advantage of turbines is, that they're very fuel efficient. You can lower your reactor production to something like 10% and you'll be able to sustain a maxed out steam turbine (That percentage depends on the size of your reactor. On the bigger ones, you can you can easily go down to 4-5%, so if you need power, but you lack fuel, it's a pretty good option) -Also, you can connect your turbine directly to the reactor, you don't have to use pipes 8)
Yeah, wish he would go back to the classic MC series, kinda like how the Yogscast do it. Obv can still do other games, but some classic MC is always loved
Interesting video, and i can understand your viewpoint. But i do have to say you were having a harder time because there were some things that were just unknown to you. So here is a list of tips for everyone: -You can actually make usable obsidian by putting lava in a stone barrel and pouring water on it. -you van actually make seared bricks by putting stones in a crucible and then pouring it into a ingot cast. (Skipping the need to go to the city untill way later) -there is a really easy way to auto sift dust and always collect the drops with a omnidirectional hopper, which is made with compressed iron instead. -using syncshells you can respawn infinitely, hence why they are there -the netherportal does have a purpose, it's so you can make a mobfarm in the nether -if you bonemeal grass you get special fruit saplings that when grown will automatically producefruit on a regular basis, thus in combination with only a juicer you can easily keep your food up though it cannot be automated sadly -using soybeans early breaks the foodissue as well.... it allows you to bypass meatproduction and using a presser(which doesn't consume power and is cheap to make) allows you to cheaply make and later automate high quality food, -use a daylight sensor for your solar generators, just inverse the redstone signal -you can use gunpowder on the reactant dynamo as wel... allowing you to make it fully autonomous. -yes the reactors are way to rare.... it took me several days to find one.... -from chests that spawn in the world (i know for sure the graveyard) you can get a division sigil.... among other things it allows you to make a healing axe which when held gives infinite food and saturation... thus making eating obsolete... Now as for my overal review: yes this modpack has it's flaws, but i think it held up decently... i would like a modern version as well but as far as i know it doesn't exist...
45:38 I love how you accidentally discovered, and then got super excited over, the old Forge Multipart system! I hope you fiddled with the saws and stuff to make microblocks. It's like a more limited, proto-chisel-and-bits, but still multipart so you can place all manner of blocks in the space, including functional pipes since loads of mods supported this hot new thing at the time (Even at the cost of performance).
I am loving the amount of content I'm seeing on youtube about the classic/old modpacks. I even played this pack at one point. NeuroticGoose just started Blightfall, which is another one I always saw but never tried. Insane nostalgia wave.
I very distantly remember Logdotzip playing this or something similar with the blue spacesuit guy back when he would swear, probably around 9 years ago.
That is the only issue with being a large content creator, you need to adapt to the times. The other thing is most of us have grown out of their audience range, but that means their early videos are great nostalgia.
@@LookIntoGamingI used to really like TerasHD's spore modded content, inspired me to mod my own copy of spore and have fun with that, then he started doing Minecraft stuff and it's admittedly pretty neat to see the cool stuff he makes in block bench but it's also a bit sad because he became a trendy mc UA-camr with that Minecraft UA-camr voice.
Thank you, for starting this video off by instantly making me feel really old. Though I'd wager you felt just as old saying that as I did hearing it. I played a bit of this modpack years back around the time it first came out, but was mostly exposed to it thanks to Direwolf20. And sometimes it's unsettling realizing just how *long* it's been.
As someone that loved old Ssundee I appreciate you stating outright how hard his stuff has fallen off. He used to be the best of the best, now he's some of the worst gaming brainrot on the platform.
Something worth mentioning, you should be able to shift items into the crafting grid with NEI, you shift+click the question mark. I don't remember if it needed you to enable a setting for that but I do remember that has been a thing for a very long time, even before this pack. Also, to help with the pronunciation of Pneumatic craft, you got it mostly right, you just keep replacing the T with a N so you kept saying Pneumanic craft. To break it down it's this: New-Mah-Tick But yeah, for this pack and packs from that era, they didn't exactly hold your hand when it came to understanding what things did or if you should have extra. The pack devs made it more as a task list than anything, unlike most packs made today with the understanding that not everyone knew the ins and outs of each mod. Back then the number of popular mods were mostly fixed with the standard selection of popular mods like Minefactory Reloaded, Tinkers, Pams, IC2, Buildcraft at one point, Thermal Series, etc. They were so prevalent that most anyone who did modding back then were as familiar with them as minecraft itself. Unlike today which we have so many more options that it's not as easy to have "standard" mods. There are some like JEI, Appleskin, and Jade which yeah, most people would agree are must haves in any pack, but major content mods like Tinkers and the like are more potentially added than the usual 90% of packs had it. ngl, I would love to see a recreation of Crashed Landing in a modern version like 1.20. I think with the addition of current mods like Create and the like would make the concept interesting.
I love this modpack so much. I've played through this a few times, and also started the ftb questbook skyblock map several times. They were the first mods I knew of to use the questbook, and I would've been lost without that. The pack doesn't have much of an ending, but it's quite challenging and short enough to enjoy and "complete".
hey just wanted to say great job on this vid! i totally respect saving the run as well this pack can be sooo unfair at times. you'd actually showed some things i didnt think were possible in the pack, like doing pneumatic craft and the circuit boards at the ship instead of going to the city first. thank you again ill probably use your run as a reference for my next run, there seems to not be much documentation on the pack so its hard to know what you can do.
Thank you very much! I really didn't want it to come to that ending, but there was no way I was throwing out all of that time and footage. And the best part of watching other people's runs is seeing how everyone does stuff differently. I tend to play super safe, and I didn't know there were pressure chamber parts in the cities. The lack of info was only the issue for finding the reactors. They are so insanely rare that it took me a hours of flying in different patterns to find one.
- I have played this modpack a bunch of times it is literally one of the best (and one of the only) modpacks out there and that I enjoy. It was well designed, insanely Unique in concept and design, and I always really enjoy it. he does start things a lot different than me, and seems to do quite well, I paused the video at this point because he was making comments about how there was a problem for all the mobs hiding under the safety of the trees, well for me one of the firs things I so in the early game is to try and do two things right away; #1 - First thing I do is run around the base in a mad dash to collect the things, there are I think about 3 special seeds & a handful of arrows (not overly important to me initially), 4 bones and I think about 11 rotten flesh. these rotten flesh I use on the drying racks as an early food supply, and the 4 bones are a nice safe bone crook, so the first 2-3 minutes of the game I follow a specific run pattern if I can remember the route, and then get all of it and my stuff collected stat. #2 - Second thing I do is shovel as much dust as I can making sure to have enough to build a safety wall around my door including a 2 deep pit and I use the glass blocks from inside to create a ceiling outside so I have an outdoor mini wall, a pit and eventually a wall surrounding a large area lit up by torches an I have a safe outdoor compound early on. Other than that, I play it by ear and do my best. don't always do well though, lol
i remember watching a lets play of this from etho way back in the day, and i think i remember something about water placed below a certain y level giving you something other than salt water, allowing you to fill water bottles with processable water.
It's actually pretty easy to make a perimeter at the very start by building a 3 high wall out of dust and placing wood slabs on the outside part to prevent spiders climbing it.
I've been meaning to go back and finally beat this pack for a long time, first played it back in 2015 not long after it was released and haven't touched it since. Had a pretty terrible computer at the time so I couldn't run the pack at more than 30 fps, and those lag spikes were kinda deadly at times. I think I'll be coming back to this video at a later date once I've beaten it, I'll see you then, same reason as you, not to spoil it.
to answer your question about a modern version of crash landing. I don't know if this qualifies, however there is a spiritual successor on cursed forge called forever stranded (it's only 1.10.2 however the creator has confirmed 2 new modpacks in the works with similar premisses (one of which is 1.19, the other hasn't had a confirmed update))
You also get infinite water if you dig deep enough, especially in combination with the autonomous activator. Below certain Y level, water stops being salty :)
Just to note there is somewhat of a newer version of this modpack called 'Forever Stranded' its near enough the same but with different mods but the core itself is still there
This was the first modpack i ever played. My cousin got me into computers and this is what we played. I have never beaten it but ive never forgotten it
One Craft gives 8 Fancy Bricks 3 Stones = 6 Slab, thus using 4 Slabs = 2 Stones 4 Stones = 4 Bricks, thus using 1 Brick = 1 Stone So you are using 3 stones for 8 Fancy stone bricks
old tinkers construct was easily the most broken tool mod. if you get the right materials/modifiers, you can have 50 attack swords, infinite durability tools & weapons, and just a complete upgrade from enchantments. I remember trying crash landing a few years ago and making a paper cleaver. it had almost no durability but could 3 hit the ender dragon with strength 2 (old minecraft strength).
I love how all these modpacks scream about realism and making getting metals extremely difficult to obtain when in reality you can just find native copper on the ground and throw into a campfire.
50:26 You could actually have made snow blocks! Those don't melt, and they still cool the area down. Place a bunch near those hot machines and you can make them more bearable to be around. You can also hold a bunch of stuff like that in your inventory, including ice which won't melt, to keep you cool on the go. There are also cold water bottles which immediately drop your temperature a bit when you drink them, and I'm sure they added those properties to other food items that would be cool. Good to have in an emergency.
I've been working on a modernized version of Crash Landing, but updated to 1.19. Sadly I got preoccupied with other projects of my own. Do you think people would want to replay Crash Landing but with a different coat of paint (and some extra mods)?
I feel this. This week is a study week then next week i have finals. I have 4 ish weeks of work i havent even touched. Now im watching this instead of doing homework for my calc 2 class
the lives part is bugged, it is clearly intended to not decrement lives if you have a shell, so by definition "cheating" to add 3 more lives is not actually "cheating" it is just "bugfixing"
Holy cow, thank you very much! I don't usually question video game logic, but there is no way that milk survived that long in a chest, with no refrigeration...
I really appreciate the support! Comments also help a ton with the alg, but I apologize for not responding again earlier. I've been completely out with the flu the past week.
imagine if they updated it to 1.7 or 1.12, maybe 1.20, but I think 1.20 will ruin it with create, even though create is a good mod, but it wouldn't fit in the pack I think.
The way I look at ssundee is he's filling the same role he did for me for someone else now, even if I don't like it, someone somewhere does. Makes it suck less, even if he still makes the occasional minecraft video it will never be the same
Crash Landing was one of the first modpacks I played and through sheer trial and error 12yo me made some scarily optimized routes for the entire pack and it's really fun seeing you stumble upon them by accident lmfao. Surprised you didn't have many problems with spiders they killed me so many times when I played it I will say, the giant hole under the ship is literally the best thing you can make and I was so sad you didn't take full advantage of it, I would usually make it as soon as possible so you can grow trees 24/7 and not need to go outside for them as well as have a bigger area for expansion Also regarding the cheating. uhhhhh, I mean, I've done it before idc
10:08 Weren't you able to combine the camelpack with any chest armor to have both hydration _and_ protection at the same time, or was that only added in the 1.7.10 version of Enviromine? You could also just put the armor back in to the crafting table to take the camelpack off, so you weren't losing it or anything.
Thank you so very much! I have tons of other runs planned, but with the insane success of the Minecraft videos, I'll need to do modpacks more! The even better thing: this is my first thanks I've gotten, what a legend!
fun fact if you go to y 47 or lower and place a water bucket it stops giving salt water and instead gives dirty water edit: i was using the coords of the mini map mod which shows your coords from your head's position and was using creative to see the minimal amount you need to dig sense i always just dug to bedrock so just fixed it so it's accurate
Aww, you never visited a city? That was a very big thing about the modpack! They had a whole host of custom buildings, the cities are generated uniquely each time, it's really cool! EDIT: Oh, you did! I guess that was just a misleading thing you said, or I misheard? You were talking about the pressure chamber, I think.
I haven't touched MC but the food mod has a multiblock that skips all the manual crafting and stores the kitchen tools aswell. Seeing the tools in chests is not a nice sight. And bone sticks for bows? Wasn't only cactus, wood, treated wood and manyllium worthwhile? The tool strengh comes from arrows and draw speed/ accuracy mattered.
So idk if you or anyone else has this issue when playing old packs like this but whenever I load up a world all of the blocks are one color and when I pick up an item the whole window turns into one color, it’s not even playable and that really sucks cause I wanna play this and a few other 1.7.10 packs
I cant rememebr if its this pack or a different one that was originally vanilla and then the creator xame back and made it into a modded version to make it easier to navigate the story, but ik this mod pack gives the same feelings of nostalga as watching those videos.
I cant run it cus of visual bugs. Do u mind if i ask when u launched this modpack on? (Im using Overwolf/Cursedforge. But Technic Lancher is also a opinion.
Jesus that is a nostalgia bomb Next you gonna tell me youll play Agrarian Skies Probably not, considering that pack is broken beyond belief and wont get downloaded correctly anymore SAD
That's one of the main reasons I've wanted to play this for so long. I can only remember a tiny bit from 9 years ago, but it was perfect. And I feel like I've heard of that pack, but I will note it down and try to check it out!
@@LookIntoGaming Nono not broken in that aspect xD Its a good modpack, balanced and everything. It is grindy at the start and then kinda spirals. Its an easier version of Star Technology basically. But trying to download it via curseforge gives you an incomplete pack and makes you download files manually over and over. Its a hassle TuT
Oh, I was trying to talk about broken download-wise. I've done other stuff that requires tons of downloads and fixes, so I think I could figure it out.
I love all of these, but I think the best from this era of Minecraft modding is Regrowth; it's not hardcore by default, but it's loads of fun and progression. And it was great it didn't rely on sieving :D There was also a cool modpack built around Blood Magic... and of course, Galactic Science. GS is _very_ grindy if you're not thinking enough, though :D
Hey man, thanks for the video! I don't know why and if it is a only me problem but i noticed that your videos dont have the 1080p60fps option If you can't do it, its okay! But if you can please do xD
That one just clipped through the ceiling. This happens in older versions of Minecraft, and is likely due to a group of spiders bunching up on the roof.
Ssundees blood and bones series is one of my favorites he really did sell out tho with all the pay to win mc server shit and his content becoming trend shit.
I meant to mention it in the run, but I stopped using the interface after getting the electric compressor. It was just too janky, and wasted a ton of pressure just exporting singles instead of waiting for the whole stack.
Dude you unlocked a fucking core memory for me. God I miss ssundee and old Minecraft. Life used to be so simple.

3 Stones = 6 Slab, thus using 4 Slabs = 2 Stones
4 Stones = 4 Bricks, thus using 1 Brick = 1 Stone
So you are using 3 stones for 8 Fancy stone bricks
Forever Stranded is a 1.10 updated version, without hardcore lives. Tons of fun!
I had to double take to realize you were actually playing that pack. Gosh, I crushed a week into this pack, what like a decade ago?
Ssundee's FTB series is still my favorite Minecraft series ever.
classic modpack, i watched ssundee play this as a kid
Very cool video man, most of the videos of modpack i put to sleep, but this one I watched the whole thing
old tinkers construct was easily the most broken tool mod. if you get the right materials/modifiers, you can have 50 attack swords, infinite durability tools & weapons, and just a complete upgrade from enchantments. I remember trying crash landing a few years ago and making a paper cleaver. it had almost no durability but could 3 hit the ender dragon with strength 2 (old minecraft strength).
Based AF opinion on SSundee. Man was the GOAT. Great videos way back.
Loved his old FTB with Lancey (or however his name was written)
Ah man what a classic. Never got far cause the cities were always a pain
I love how all these modpacks scream about realism and making getting metals extremely difficult to obtain when in reality you can just find native copper on the ground and throw into a campfire.

You could actually have made snow blocks!
Good to have in an emergency.
oooooooooooooooooooooo crash landing, one of my favorite packs of all time!!! so excited for this
I've been working on a modernized version of Crash Landing, but updated to 1.19. Sadly I got preoccupied with other projects of my own.
Do you think people would want to replay Crash Landing but with a different coat of paint (and some extra mods)?
Yes!
I would!
There are so many great modpacks that have been forgotten (totally not avoiding class work [am 23])
I feel this. This week is a study week then next week i have finals. I have 4 ish weeks of work i havent even touched. Now im watching this instead of doing homework for my calc 2 class
Good luck to you both on finals. I’m butchering my sleep watching this, despite work tomorrow.
Ethos lab was my intro.
Please do more modpack videos, im loving them
First time seeing this guy. And i already like this dude!.... reminds me the older UA-cam's!...
This has encouraged me to start a gregblock run
the lives part is bugged, it is clearly intended to not decrement lives if you have a shell, so by definition "cheating" to add 3 more lives is not actually "cheating" it is just "bugfixing"
Mmmm, great video to watch while eating lunch😊
Awesome! I never use to do this either, but now I do, and I'm glad my videos are worthy!
The fresh milk looks suspicious…
Holy cow, thank you very much! I don't usually question video game logic, but there is no way that milk survived that long in a chest, with no refrigeration...
@@LookIntoGaming you underrated af, I hope the algorithm does its thing for you so you can get more recognition
I really appreciate the support! Comments also help a ton with the alg, but I apologize for not responding again earlier. I've been completely out with the flu the past week.
@@LookIntoGaming Its okay bro, but I hope youre feeling better
You can pull clean water from the etching acid and you can use the starting water and blazing pyrotheum to make a day one cobble gen.
Big reactors has to be one of my favourite mods.
imagine if they updated it to 1.7 or 1.12, maybe 1.20, but I think 1.20 will ruin it with create, even though create is a good mod, but it wouldn't fit in the pack I think.
Love the Minecraft videos Enzo! See ya in the stream
Thank you very much! I'm hoping to stream again this week, and I can't wait to chat with everyone again!
The way I look at ssundee is he's filling the same role he did for me for someone else now, even if I don't like it, someone somewhere does. Makes it suck less, even if he still makes the occasional minecraft video it will never be the same
i have a fond memory of playing this pack and stumbling through a few of the challenges.
i don't have a fond memory of pneumaticraft though
Crash Landing was one of the first modpacks I played and through sheer trial and error 12yo me made some scarily optimized routes for the entire pack and it's really fun seeing you stumble upon them by accident lmfao. Surprised you didn't have many problems with spiders they killed me so many times when I played it
I will say, the giant hole under the ship is literally the best thing you can make and I was so sad you didn't take full advantage of it, I would usually make it as soon as possible so you can grow trees 24/7 and not need to go outside for them as well as have a bigger area for expansion
Also regarding the cheating. uhhhhh, I mean, I've done it before idc
An easy mnemonic to remember the pronunciation of Pneumatic is New Mat (ick)
Because it gives you a new material to work with! But its icky...
I'm glad you ended the run when it stopped being fun.
I appreciate you saying that. I've noticed that when I'm not having fun, the video usually doesn't come out as well.
What a great modpack

Weren't you able to combine the camelpack with any chest armor to have both hydration _and_ protection at the same time, or was that only added in the 1.7.10 version of Enviromine?
You could also just put the armor back in to the crafting table to take the camelpack off, so you weren't losing it or anything.
Its been awhile, but im pretty sure if you walk outside the ship and to the left theres a piece of rotten flesh, hope this helps.
Slab furnaces halve the stack limits; not a problem for purifying water bottles, though :)
Keep up the good work!😼🗣️ (Keep uploading wish i xna donate more but i got no more money sadly)😔
Thank you so very much! I have tons of other runs planned, but with the insane success of the Minecraft videos, I'll need to do modpacks more! The even better thing: this is my first thanks I've gotten, what a legend!
@@LookIntoGaming I'll be down to watch the other videos you can bet on that! (I'll always try to watch your videos new and old one love you bro)
That's awesome, I really appreciate it!
12:08 people discovering staple crops
fun fact if you go to y 47 or lower and place a water bucket it stops giving salt water and instead gives dirty water
edit: i was using the coords of the mini map mod which shows your coords from your head's position and was using creative to see the minimal amount you need to dig sense i always just dug to bedrock so just fixed it so it's accurate
Wow, this is certainly a blast from the past.
I didn't even realize how old I was until I did this. I'm only 19, and this certainly is.
For me is the besta modpak ever. BTW, you should try Obscurity!
pneumaticcraft is so much fun in modern mc with fully programable drones and stuff plus the textures are sooooooooo much better nice run tho
Forever Stranded is a more modern version of Crash landing. For 1.10.2
I cant rememebr if its this pack or a different one that was originally vanilla and then the creator xame back and made it into a modded version to make it easier to navigate the story, but ik this mod pack gives the same feelings of nostalga as watching those videos.
What's the music playing at 1:25:30 ?
The main menu theme from Borderlands 2. I ran out of my Minecraft playlist at that point, and I wanted to keep it fresh.
@@LookIntoGaming Thanks! I loved the video btw, it was so much nostalgic to watch.
I cant run it cus of visual bugs. Do u mind if i ask when u launched this modpack on? (Im using Overwolf/Cursedforge. But Technic Lancher is also a opinion.
I think you could well love GTNH, you might be the kind of person to enjoy it
only remember this pack from Yogcast of all places haha
Now that is a name I haven't heard in a very long time. It's a shame I never really watched them, but of course I've heard of them.
God nostalgia... tho, question... how do you make the shell generator work?
You should try vintage story.
Minecraft modpack turned into a new game, it's quite challenging
Where can i find this I have looked before and I couldnt find it?
Ssundee... God I hasn't hear that name in so long
Jesus that is a nostalgia bomb
Next you gonna tell me youll play Agrarian Skies
Probably not, considering that pack is broken beyond belief and wont get downloaded correctly anymore SAD
That's one of the main reasons I've wanted to play this for so long. I can only remember a tiny bit from 9 years ago, but it was perfect. And I feel like I've heard of that pack, but I will note it down and try to check it out!
@@LookIntoGaming Nono not broken in that aspect xD
Its a good modpack, balanced and everything.
And it was great it didn't rely on sieving :D
There was also a cool modpack built around Blood Magic... and of course, Galactic Science. GS is _very_ grindy if you're not thinking enough, though :D
Hey man, thanks for the video!
I don't know why and if it is a only me problem but i noticed that your videos dont have the 1080p60fps option
If you can't do it, its okay!
But if you can please do xD
Knew-Matt-ick (Pneu-mat-ic).
You earned a sub :)
Thank you very much!
Just wait until he plays blood and bones. Its tramatizing
I did try to play the modpack because nostalgia but it just refused to play
I'd love to play a modpack just like this one, but man, 1.5.2 is OLD, and that's coming from someone who played it a ton as a kid.
I'll be honest, i ignored your channel at first because your channel profile picture makes you look like you'd be a gaming journalist
So GTNH is next up for this Form of Content right? :)
Did anyone else notice that spider that just spawned for like a second and disappeared?!?!??
That one just clipped through the ceiling. This happens in older versions of Minecraft, and is likely due to a group of spiders bunching up on the roof.
There is a more modern version inspired by this modpack called dusty hell
Ssundees blood and bones series is one of my favorites he really did sell out tho with all the pay to win mc server shit and his content becoming trend shit.
were there no pressure chamber interfaces in this version of the mod?
edit: you got one later
I meant to mention it in the run, but I stopped using the interface after getting the electric compressor. It was just too janky, and wasted a ton of pressure just exporting singles instead of waiting for the whole stack.
Omfg, sameeeee, I watched Ssundee play this mod pack and I wanted to play it too!
couldnt agree more about the ssundee droping off thing RIP
