The Vespid look fun to paint. I’m thinking either blue-black or a really dark red-brown for the carapace - just like some of my least favorite wasps here in the southeastern US. The terrain set with the generic equipment should be nice to play on. I really hope they give us preset maps for competitive play on all the sets that they’re sticking with for the new edition. Finally goodbye shapes! They were a bloody mind-crime & were a hindrance to teaching new players.
I like the real scale scions, the old ones are a bit heroic scale for me. No problem with the vespids, I don't really care for organic designs (eg tyranids) so I kind of wish they were clothed/armoured a bit more lol, but definitely a great update of the old models. I kind of wonder if this will be "season of the jumpy boys" and we will get new Ork Stormboyz (Orks were in a lore snippit), Tyranid gargoyles (currently Online Only from GW), a full squad of jump Votann, the aforementioned Swooping Hawks (maybe Warp Spiders too?!), CSM Raptors or Warp Talons (maybe kit to make either)... probably just daydreaming! I am very excited about the solo rules though, I'm not really in a situation to play competitively so being able to casually play solo would be great, gives me an excuse to have kill teams as a painting project at the very least.
Ha, yes I love the Vespid but the odd armour plate wouldn't go amiss. There was a rumour about it being season of flyers but it could have just referred to the stater, and the rumour did what rumours do and got away with itself. Having said that, if it is flying season, Swooping Hawks I’m sure are coming, and Stormboyz, Raptors/Warp Talons could do with an update, and the Votann full jump team would be welcome. For non flying Kill Teams - Catachan, Warp Spiders, Flash Gitz, Lootas, I could go on! I agree ref the solo rules too, looking forward to reading more on that and co-op.
Love both teams, but I'm concerned about the high amount of "regular troopers" on both teams. I hope they're just hiding all the unique operatives from each team.

Some of those Vespid schemes sound cool. I think there might be preset maps and I agree completely ref the shapes, glad they are gone!

Yes for future teams it would be nice to see a couple less of the trooper/warriors and a couple more of the specialists.
