Thank you so much for making this, Mike! I agree with you 100%. 👍 I love IIFYM and have seen great results from it (lost over 125 lbs). It also almost gave me an eating disorder. I used to be so food focused and trying to fit in different foods into my diet.
What I do now is that I've designed a 'flexible meal plan' based on my needs and preferences. I eat the same/similar foods almost every day and I'm at a much better place now.
The best thing is that it saves me from a lot of decision fatigue. As you know, the most successful people avoid decision fatigue by doing things such as wearing the same clothes every day. 😀
    -Anand.

I feel like most flexible dieters really do eat healthy most of the day- you can't really fit pop tarts & ice cream into your macros without eating veggies, fruit, salads, protein shakes and lean protein like egg whites and chicken breast for the rest of the day.

It's been awhile since listening to a podcast of yours and I enjoy this new format of the podcast much more than the hour long "live" Q&A from over a year ago - much more focused and not too long to loose interest. Keep it up Mike!

There is a HUGE difference between just "fit" and HEALTHY! This video helps explain that. Great stuff Mike!!!

I enjoyed this Mike..like the format a lot! Genesis & Lunar are my favorite two Legion products. Funny how the prioritized order of my supplements must haves has changed over time:) I've never felt better during the day and slept better at night.

It should be called "the balanced diet"

IMO the problem is extremism at both ends. Most people who "practice" IIFYM aren't morons, everyone knows you need vitamins, minerals, fibre, etc etc etc. Most of these people will eat most of their calories from the so called "clean foods".
While its unquestionably "better" to 100% "eat clean" than control calories and eat 100% "junk food", either way has problems ultimately. A lot of people who "eat clean" go through binge cycles as they restrict a lot of the foods they love. This is easy handled by the (majority) of people who realize they can have a pop tart or some ice cream as long as their overall diet is sufficient in all the good stuff.
My point is really: "IIFYM" is ALREADY "flexible", that's literally the whole point of it. Other points include the fact there's really no objective definition of "clean", at all; IMO it would be better if people realized that (almost) no food is intrinsically good or bad or clean or dirty, that context and dosage is whats important.

Hey Mike, I've been following your work for some time, and I enjoy the content! that said, I feel like I can tell, you read most of this podcast out a loud, as opposed to talking freely or from notes as you used to do, in your longer episodes. (I agree, this smaller format is better and more consise) It might also be that you try to be more explicit or easy to understand, but I find it somewhat off putting. Just my 2 cents anyway. Cheers

The science based community on social media is completely shitting on clean eating. It blows my mind.

I just love counting macros ❤ So, that is why I 'always' eat clean. I 'cheat' once or twice a year. Christmas and if I feel like cheating on my birthday. 💪

PLEASE HELP ME MIKE, I've been doing bls great program by the way! it's just finished week 16 on program didn't deload or anything kept working out. went into deadlifting. I did the warm up to 275 which i did for 4 last week and when I began going up with good form I heard and felt a few cracks in my lower back about 3, felt a lot of pain, dropped the weight and my posture and even feet for a second felt paralyzed while I tried to sit and not make a big deal of it at the gym. I asked someone to put the weights back because I cant bend over and lost a lot of mobility. This happened earlier today. So now my lower back is killing me. do you know what this could be why it happened? what should I do?

in a society where #fitshaming is so prevalent, there will be backlash against those who have their sh!t together in the diet category.
My friends would rather spend money going out drinking, or buying WWE and UFC replica belts instead of upgrading to pasture-raised eggs. As a result of this, they see me as the weirdo.

adding to me rant, it's sad to see and hear Mark Rippetoe ridiculing low body fat and flaunting his ever growing belly like it's an accomplishment.
