Subscriber gave me this, what should I do with it? Power Tour, Tour of Lemons, or raffle it off?

Its good looking cutlass, I'd donate it, and let the kids at the high-school fix it all mechanically.
Now what I really wanted to say about this car is that snake car. The color looks like it's from a Corsica. Which I believe I did a 15 maybe 20 seconds short on a Corsica I called tangerine orange paint color. And tomorrow's color that changes you and even the color appearance depending on lighting. I want to change my vote from preserving it to just making a monster rod out of it. As far as a frame take the measurements and well then or at least bolt-in if you're concerned about the fuel tank and gas lines. But replace it with a suitable piece of box pipe. And just go around the back of the frame and close it in and that away if somebody was hit the car could be Rock solid for the driver this car. I've done that I couldn't tell you how many times on Rusty pickups 4-wheel drives primarily. And then I put a nice humongous hitch on it and we use it on the farm. But given where the car came from this is no surprise.
Man that frame rot is a game changer. Add to the fact the engine isn’t very desirable. Donate it to the school for a welding project. I wouldn’t drive it far. Remember the Ford Pinto?
😆 my thoughts exactly! Shame, the rest is solid
First ❤😊 but I'll watch in the morning, 10pm here, Do a giveaway resto Car, my 2 bobs worth Cool, are can you post it😮😂😅
Cheers🍺🍻 KC 🇦🇺🤝🇺🇸😎👍✌
Cool Cutlass, love the color 😊 Donating it to high school is a great idea and the lemon tour sounds like much fun 😊
I want to get it running and see what I have to work with. Other than the frame it seems solid
@@flatbrokegarage Totally agree to all😃👍
Back half it, tubs and a cage. Pro street! Fat tires rock!
They do make good drag cars
@@flatbrokegarage I'll be in Turtletown Saturday. If you're around after 5:00 Saturday evening I'll give you a holler.
Back in the 1970s GM had a lot of parts on to h shelf. So they took the Pontiac block added Olds heads intake timing cover made it a 260 .it's in the same engine family as the 301 Pontiac.meant to go into omegas Ventura's .
Interesting, I never knew that. I'm not sure what happened to this one. If the oil pickup is plugged or the pump left the building. But it has absolutely no oil pressure. Not sure if it's worth fixing or not.
We were the very first ones to own one of these when I was a teen in the 80's same exact car but ours was sky blue, I really liked it alot and was upset when my dad sold it, he used to buy theft recoveries from central auto parts in Blaine Minnesota, Love the vids❤
Thanks! I should really do something with this. I parked it at my buddy's place
They make replacement rear frame rails for g-bodies and there's always people selling good used ones on g-body pages.if you can weld, have the youngin help get it together and then pass it on to him.
I've been looking into the patch sections. If I do get after it, it would probably be next year. I am swamped with projects I have to get finished first.
Nice car dan your lucky😮
I guess you could say lucky 😆
Contact pole barn garage see if he would be interested in fixing the frame. He loves a challenge
This car is right up his alley. He seems busy with his square body now.
A, it was given to you no cost. B, How many are still on the road in good condition. C , Frame can be Fixed. D, Why Destroy it in some stupid race what does it prove oh I can do like everyone else 🤣 E, Get it Running and Make a Profit
I'll have to kick it around. It would definitely be a "back burner" car. I have a few projects ahead of it.
I'd say old school dragster, but that's just me
I just have to many projects
all depends on how much work it needs
It needs a bunch i think. I'm pulling it up to the shop Monday. We will see
im watching your video right now
Liberty sez: “Oh! I’d take it and get it going. Fix it and keep the miles off my car to go to college with. It’s kinda cool.”
Tell her to come look at it
@@flatbrokegarage Will do.
I would love to to have that car I always dreamed of getting one but I'll never afford to
Well Al, stay tuned. I may still give it away in some kind of raffle. I want to get it running and driving first
3:30 3 people ln line to cop a hook to the head. Dragging brakes near 2 ton of car up a ramp. Winches will break. Don't stand near. 😮
The brakes weren't dragging when we loaded it. The car was in park when we first started pulling it and that's why we were tearing up the ground. They stuck going forward but were free backing up.
Really nice looking cutlass! Hey,, would it be OK for me to come visit you while I am in Turtletown myself?
Sure. You can email me at flatbrokegaragetn@gmail.com
I can fix the frame bill , if we can find a donor G body frame
You need to come look at this, then you'll know why I'm apprehensive.
I'm also a car guy, but I got no classic and no money for one or power tour.
Tell ya what, I'm right with ya. Power Tour is going to be a little spendy 😆
If the frame is solid in front of the rust? Could a patch be welded in
Yeah, it can be fixed for sure. You'd have to pull the tank. I just have a lot of other projects ahead of it.
GM had a 350 cubic inch displacement Diesel and they had a V6 diesel. They use these in their trucks as well as Oldsmobiles Buicks in about everything that you ordered it in. Absolutely no way no how you take a gasoline engine and converted to diesel ⛽. SML again jump in and save their Uncle Billy didn't sure but you're not going to be able to sell it as a mass production vehicle. Now I have heard of people taking these 350 diesel zandri engineering them and making them into bulletproof gas engines. Given them an unbelievable amount of horsepower least back twenty years ago.
I had a Delta 88 Royale with a 350 Gen 2 diesel in it. The first generation diesel went out and the first 20,000 miles and I was college kid military and driving to piss out of that car. We took out the 200 metric transmission and put in a 400 turbo built transmission behind the diesel and my mileage went from a high of 38 miles per gallon to consistent 32 mi a gallon. So you're not going to talk me out of it these are good engines if you just drove me away that's one should drive them. Now I was a few different things in the military. I even ran a motor pool for a couple of years. I had other friends who had decent luck with the V6 diesel. I believe they have 4 cylinder diesel as well. I still have that Oldsmobile 350 diesel engine complete because I finally gave in and pulled out and put in a 350 rocket out of a 77 Cutlass. It had no power no get up and go and 8 Mile seek out and it was bathetic. Sure I could changed out the gear ratio on a few other things but by then I took the $500 and ran and sold a car to somebody else. The starters make a pretty decent winch especially for light duty.
38 mpg is pretty darn good
yeah its not safe with the back fram rails
Yep...shame the rest is good. I'm sure it can be fixed, I just have to many projects and this is a big one
@@flatbrokegarage high school for sure
power tour bill
I'll be lucky to get my junk ready for the PT 😆
local high school
Yeah, it would be sweet to see a good Collab so that we could see the progress
I know a few guy's around here. Maybe someone has some extra time
Repair the frame…
Absolutely! Weld some angle irons in them
What happened to this car do you still have it?
@bigbill709 I do. It has a bad engine and rusted frame. Probably going to trade it off
