    Always aim for a point beyond your target to ensure maximum penetration and impact. Another excellent lesson in applying the techniques of WW2 Unarmed Combat.🥋🙏

    Always enjoy watching and studying your videos, explaining the methodologies of WWII Combatives!!! Was wondering if you could give a tutorial on how to do the thumb lock hold as demonstrated in Captain Fairbairn's combatives book 📖
    Get Tough!!! Great respect always for Captain Fairbairn!!! However, the directions as illustrated in Get Tough pertaining to the thumb lock hold are rather ❤ confusing to follow!!!
    Thanks!!!

    I trained KMG for some years. Best training I ever did. Bought the Defendu basic video a decade before that. Many similarities but different systems. Both are the top leading systems out there. And both have three tier block that may or may not be right. One designed for civillians, one for law enforcement and one for military only. In my country I had to apply to law enforcement`s approval to even start training. Very similar systems, different approach.

    Agreed always strike towards the back of your target not the surface. Drive through …

    At 1:59, this is a demonstration of how far the hand should penetrate, it is not a training drill, if you train this as at 5:03 you are training to miss the face, just like the circus knife thrower who tried to kill his wife and missed.
    Same principle as firearms training, if you practice shooting at the sides of the target instead of the center then under stress you miss the center.

      @@rodvan-zeller6360 with all things drilling and training its balance. This isn't the ONLY way to train it - it's a supplemental way to help people get used to penetration, bodily contact and to remind them they can use a long range tool at close range. You'd mix this all together on helmeted people, bags, pads, bobs, in controlled sparring, with verbal drills so on and so forth.

      @@TommyMooreww2combatives Thank you for the reply. I understand your point and your explanation.
      We have different approaches. In training I put great emphasis in subconscious conditioning,
      thus, my comment.
      I don't want anything happening below the level of awareness in training drills.

    Great video but the points you make is why I don't believe in "eyes first". The eyes are merely a bonus if you happen to get them. Trying to target the eyes slows you down which is not what you want here with the drive thru. We also have to look at the fact that the techniques were changed or tweaked from basic training as they were used in combat, this is mentioned in later books. As someone who has learned 20 ways to defend against a round house kick, it is much better to have a few go-to techniques than 200 variations for the brain to have to decide from.

      Then what would you say is " first " ?

    Would you say the initial tiger claw strike ti the eyes will cause the target's head to tilt backwards, thus increasing the impact to the palm strike follow through?

      @MJayzStudio Місяць тому

      Side note I was thinking, attacked eyes or tilting head violently back will also increase chances for better follow up strikes to throat
