Was an amazing place to grow up, I hate going back now but can't help myself, I have more family under ground in alton than above anywhere else.

It's always so sad going back and seeing changes. Whether those changes are good or bad, I can't help but think "It's just not the same anymore" I'll go back there again, perhaps in 2025, take my DJI drones, Go Pro's and some good walking boots and really explore. I'll make sure to take a trip on The Watercress Line as well. Thanks for watching!

I didn't take as many photos as I should have when I lived there. Film just seemed so expensive! I'd buy Boot's film to save a few pennies, but I think that's why my memories of Alton are blue-grey. Damn colour cast ! Shame about the old pubs disappearing, that's what made England "England" to me. I visited a few over the years, but some, like the Wheatsheaf, Baker's Arms, French Horn, Duke's Head or Hop Poles didn't jazz me as a 20 year old. I did like the Castle of Comfort up there in Medstead! Yes I do have some Alton video on this channel. ua-cam.com/video/OHFbaUXzV_E/v-deo.html Thanks for watching, keep an eye out for more photos!

Just remembered something about the old cinema. It had an awful reputation even in the late seventies. Wasn't it disparagingly referred to as "The Flea Pit" or something like that! I remember picking up a nice Chinese meal at the only Chinese take away in Town (near the Key Markets?) My memories are faded now.
