If we're all being totally honest. The point was a very good result given how poorly we played apart from the last 10 minutes or so. We were lucky to pick up a point. There was so much that didn't work both in terms of the shape and the personnel. Alfie May was so isolated and had little to no service. He didn't stop working, though, and for that alone, he more deserved his goal. A real pressure penalty and he was cool and calm personified. Hansson for Dembele made a difference. Dembele was really poor. He's either hot or cold and unfortunately, he was freezing cold. The shape just didn't work today and I really don't like us always trying to play out from the back. I don't mean don't do it at all, but mix it up a bit. We played ourselves into trouble way too many times and we invited the high press, which is what we want to be more on and not more on the receiving end of. The atmosphere was pretty flat. I heard some ridiculous things being said and shouted about Chris Davies. People losing their heads. It's going to be a very tough season. We have no right, let alone define right to roll teams over. All things considered 1 point was 1 point gained. Lots to work on, but this is Birmingham City. Typical Blues 🤣🤣 Great video as always. KRO 💙

Reading were well set up, I thought, and we struggled to break them down in and around the box because it’s clear we don’t want to just lob it in. But like you say with the playing out from the back, mix it up a bit. And I think we need to be more unpredictable because teams will be studying us a lot this season, so we don’t want to be sussed out early on. Nonetheless, it’s early days. There were a lot of opinions that he won't be a starter except in the cup games and an impact sub in the league. I wholeheartedly disagreed, and the Reading game strengthened his and my case. Luke Harris didn't sign on loan to sit on the bench more often than not, especially after all the football he played in League One the second half on the season when he went out on loan. Just a quick word on our fullbacks..... Cochrane seems to be very reluctant to run into space with the ball at his feet when that's the right thing to do and Laird runs into trouble too many times, so both of those areas need to be looked at. I really hope we can sign Jay Stansfield. I know we have Alfie May, and they're very similar, but I can see both of them playing in the same team. You're absolutely right about Reading being well set up and difficult to break down, that's something that we're going to come up against a lot so we're going to have to find the answers to this problem. 45 games to go. I don't go to the away games, but hopefully, we can pick up some points in our next 2 league games on the road and a win in the league cup before that. I am looking forward to the Wigan game on the 31st, and hopefully, all the work at the ground will have been completed by then and we see a much improved performance on the pitch and a positive result, which are the two most important things. Everyone needs to calm tf down. It was first game of the season. I predicted 1-1 and expected a sluggish start with a new team. I still think we will pish the league Hanson has to start over Dembele. Myoshi is too lightweight and needs replacing. Laird needs to stop thinking he is Ronaldino and speed his play up, Klarer over Sanderson
