Hi Kris, Thanks for your review. At 11:40 you can see on the display that you are in Comfort Mode. Only in Sport mode the full time four-wheel drive and the full acceleration is available. To select the Sport Mode there is a small button „Driving Mode“ (and you can click on the earth as well).
They should at least teach you how to set regen and drive modes before you start. There is a one pedal mode. They called it e-pedal. All else fails just tell it to do something eg. "hey smart change drive mode to sport"
The rims are ones from Pro+ model but this one goes 6.7s to 100Km/h and not 4.5s just like the Pulse does (definitely other rims). Probably why you thought it was not that fast. Try to go in sport mode by clicking on earth in the infotainment screen.
I think i prefer the outside of the ex30, but i like the inside of this more. I have seen these in person and it looks a bit better in person imo, tho the white / cream is not my fav colour...
Kris, the way you described the less-than-stellar acceleration one might expect it to be the RWD model, but you said it was AWD. Any chance it was actually the RWD?
The one he’s testing he said is pulse which is the lowest model and rwd. Only brabus is 4wd. Also got the stats wrong comparing the different models. Acceleration times for next model down (pro+?)is about 6.7 secs
Funny video man 😂 Distracted.. Your going to love the EX30.. Cruising along, then looking down on your driver display or HUD to check speed.. Oh wait 😂😂 Distracted Distracted.. It doesn't have it, so enjoy your new in car music player.
Why all references to Mercedes, Smart is mostly owned by Chineese Geely. Why, yeah it’s 50% each but as Geely also owns a big part of Mercedes they also are the biggest owner.
Smart is owned by Mercedes. That's clearly a Mercedes design as well and Mercedes tuned the car. Geely provided the platform. Geely doesn't own a huge part of Mercedes. They own a bit under 10 percent.
Smart is owned by Geely by 50%. Mercedes is owned by Geelys owner by 10%, therefore Geely has 55% of Smart. And BAIC owns 10% of Mercedes also so more chinese ownership.
@@MasterChief37 of course it doesn’t work like I said but it was a way to describe the big chinese ownership. Smart is more chinese than german today. This Smart, Volvo and Zeekr are three Geely cars under the shell and engineers in Sweden, Germany and China have all together constructed theese cars. Most people today don’t realize how much China owns! It’s a sneaky way to buy our western brands and fool customers that they still are western brands. Volvo, Smart, Lotus, MG is the latest and more is coming ( Aston Martin probably)
@@catmanscarchannel does it really matter if China owns a lot, the US also owns a lot, I don’t see the difference, they both act in there own self interest.
From a looks point of view the EX30 looks way better, the side profile especially the rear quarter looks clumsy on this car, it's not ugly but it just doesn't look as classy like the Volvo does, rear legroom isn't an issue for me having no kids.
The Smart and the Volvo are not the same dimensions. +4cm length, -2cm width, +8cm height, +10cm wheelbase. Especially the wheelbase and the height are a big difference, if it comes to interior space. From the outside the Volvo looks much better. The center console is definitely higher than in the Polestar 2, comparing head to head and the seats are missing shoulder support.
Zeekr and Smart are longer and Volvo the smaller car, therefore I prefer Zeekr, larger, more luxury and better look both inside and outside. With sam spec is Zeekr actually cheaper than Volvo also.
@@catmanscarchannel The SEA platform was engineered by a Swede. When you get something Chinese, there may be European styling or engineering in it. Not all of it is but Chinese companies do employ and use Western designers and engineers.
Volvo is better looking. Smart has a instrument cluster, wireless charging and panoramic sunroof as STANDARD. For the same money. It’s up to you which you prefer…

At least they managed to put instruments in front of the driver and a HUD both of which Volvo has decided not to offer.
20:05 Isn’t there a physical drive mode button below the screen? According to every picture of the infotainment system that I’ve seen, there is 😊
Front on was giving me Tesla, side on is giving Mini Cooper vibes and outback looks like an Audi lol
It’s 411 litres when second seat row is pushed to the forward most position.

Seen my first one on the street in the UK, it's not exactly "small"!
why ask if it's better than the volvo, and then not answer the question ?

Have you even seen the poor quality of the Ex30 interior compared to #1?

why do you speak, sort of, american ? instead of english ?
Zeekr is the good one of the three
Smart #3 better ;)
Why buy a binging and bonging German car when you could have that in a Chinese car?
This is a chineese car…
@@catmanscarchannel Yes. With prices like being a German car - with less tech than a proper Chinese car.
Just like every China car in europe, way to expensive. Some of the design is from Mercedes but all important parts is just Chinese Geely parts.

Well I haven’t seen the Volvo, so maybe it is better looking. However the statement that the smart looks cheap is just completely ridiculous
