Bradley...you likely don't have synesthesia, but you do have an uncanny ability to link aromas and flavors to both memories and to the other senses. While not directly descriptive of the aroma or flavor, that ability helps us relate to your selected blend at a deeper level. Your videos are professionally rendered, informative and--above all--entertaining. Keep up the excellent work!
Loved this blend. The blend also has some type of mystery spice or topping that gives it a ginger flavour in addition to the spicy Orientals and bold Latakia. It's well crafted, has a lot of flavour but there's something else in it that gives it a unique character distinct from other English blends.
I place Maltese Falcon right up there with great Latty blends like Black House and Ten Russians; delicious smoky flavor with just the right amount of nicotine without feeling oppressive. I'd easily put Maltese Falcon in my top 5 blends. I find it smokes best with a nice deep bowl so you get all those flavors good and deep. Nothing like piling 5 pinches of Maltese Falcon into a Nording Giant and watching the snow fall.
good to see you try this blend, Bradley; a YTPC friend said it compares fairly closely to Butera's Pelican, which i've never tried ... i keep a cannister of this on hand all the time now
Pease English/Balkan blends are some of the all stars, up there with the old Dunhill and (some) Gawith blends. His Virginias and VaPers also excellent.
I’m glad you enjoyed the blend. I opened my first tin of the Maltese two weeks ago and I’m loving it - which is unusual, since I’m a more of a virginia and virginia/perique smoker. Can’t wait for the final review! Thanks for the excellent videos!
One of my favorite blends, glad you're enjoying it so far. With a bit of age the red VAs start to really pop and reveal their quality. Looking forward to the review.
I want to mention if they could do a shag cut of this blend it would be on par with the Smokers Haven Exotique mixture that I have not been able to buy for about three years. If I have any Exotique I will send you to see what the big deal is but it is through JF Germaine and it is nice but very expensive and apparently hard to come by.
Yesir, this and Quiet Nights are the two I reach for most often and it's been that way for a while. MF tastes bready to me like a light English with spices added. Just love it. Good choice for the review.
Am I to understand you are just now trying Maltese Falcon? It is one of my most smoked. Are you doing a 2022 Cringle Flake review? I just received my order and I am curious if the tin note had you wondering if it's a prank. I'm excited and scared at the same time to try it.
I have always noticed this about how the bowl develops. You did a great job putting a fine point on it. I do wish the Latakia maintained a bigger presence in the last half of the bowl.
I’m kind of new to pipe smoking. That said I’ve tried this blend and didn’t like it at all, a strong taste of cloves is what I taste. I’m now thinking English blends is not for me.
Old post I know. You should try Charing Cross. Amazing orientals in that one. And the dance they play with the Latakia over the base of Virginia is really good.
I wish I could enjoy English's. For some reason my palate is pretty one dimensional. Once something has Lat in it it may as well be the same as everything else with Lat in it. That's all I ever taste and they all taste the same.
Yes, Sam Spade would definitely approve. Best blend of all time. I’ve bought and dedicated a pipe to this sublime tobacco.
High praise!

Thanks so much! It's always nice to receive such a thoughtful comment.

Nothing hits you just right like a good English blend!
We tried to tell you you’d like it Bradley 😂

Interesting. I haven't tried Pelican either.
I’ve had this… it’s so phenomenal.

Agreed!

My pleasure! Thanks for watching!

Nice! Should be up in a couple of weeks.
I have an yet to be opened tin of this. The date on it is from October 2020. I'm excited to try it!

Great blend to smoke after escaping!
Nice review.... And berserk deluxe edition manga on the shelf 🤯‼️

Cheers! Thanks for watching!
I like Maltese Falcon and always have a can.
I would say that smoking very slowly will reward you.
Whenever you say creosote I think G.L. Pease Abingdon. Although my supply of it has mellowed out in the past few years in that regard.
To me, I think that Gaslight is the most "creosote-y" blend I can think of. One of my favorite flavors in an English blend.

I have a tin I picked up 3 years ago. This may have inspired me to pop the lid.
Love this stuff
Maybe less tart and more tannic?
Love it
Too sour towards the end for me, probably from the orientals. Much prefer Pease’s Gaslight.
Gaslight is up there for sure!
Gaslight! Amazing weed for sure. Although I can burn more Falcon before I get tongue fatigue

Try Peterson Standard Mixture before you give up on English blends completely.
@@stuffandthingsyoutube thanks for the tip, I’ll give it a try.
I'm not a fan of the orientals in this blend. I can tell it's a quality blend, just not my preference. Same with Chelsea Morning.
If you prefer a Lat bomb. Gaslight is pretty good
Chelsea morning is a stunning blend. Most creamy blend around.

Interesting. It is a pretty powerful flavor.
Most Important for me 🙏😙😙💘!!! You are late to the party = P r o m o s m !!!

Buy subs? I'm not sure if you're offering to sell them, but no, I don't. :-)
