- Platter Play is a term given to a musical turntablism technique which can be performed on the Reloop RP-8000 MK2 turntable which allows DJs to play note-perfect, complex melodies via the performance pads.
In this video, Reloop artist DJ Angelo shows you what Platter Play is and how you can exclusively use this feature with the new Reloop DJ setup RP-8000 MK2 turntable and ELITE Mixer.
Furthermore, he explains the difference compared to other musical DJ techniques like Tone Play and Pitch Play by performing three individual routines.

Do we need the Elite mixer to do all this or no? I got a rane 72 and got the rp8000 mk2. I haven't dove deep into all the features yet
It's a hardware feature, you can do with the RP-8000 MK2 and it's also possible to do platter play with real vinyl tones.
is this possible to launch Hotcue in platterplay mode?
Is the pitch slider still functional during platter play mode?
I just bought the 8000 mk2.. I looked on line .. no one really talks about the height adjustment on the needle. everyone covers the counter weight but no one really talk about arm height. any suggestions?

Platter Play is a hardware feature, which is only accessable with the RP-8000 MK2.
@@ReloopDJcom can i control the pitch via midi at all (with an mk1)?
@@ricekopf330 You can map your Serato to your desired functions, but again the PlatterPlay feature is especially accessable with the RP-8000 MK2
What features will not work with the 72 ??
Platter Play works with the RP-8000 MK2 standalone already.
