We had some techn. proplems the day we did the recording of that Les Paul, so a new video will follow soon!
Now that’s the way to demo a fine guitar , this man knows how to get the tone out of the finest guitar ever made .
Beautiful tone. That wrong position flub @:31 was actually very nice. A little tension... and resolve.
That was some bad ass solo, my man... fantastic guitar, fabulous playing.
I haft to re revist this video every once in a while i love the opening play from Ollie! The sound of his playing mesmerizing!

And he is actually german 😅 he plays his role quite well

@@arisl2370 exactly. Some were quite dull and muddy even a guy like Joe Bonamassa had said some of the 59s and 60s he has bought don't sound that special. Those are the ones he does not play onstage
People have said the Keith Richard's 59 burst is not one of the better sounding ones not that it sounds bad it's just not as a good as other examples of vintage les Paul's

Seriously, I love Ali and his playing. I think he's one of the best playing reviewers on the web. in his average 4+ minute pieces he keeps it down to nuts and bolts, doesn't engage in Chappers and Captain horseplay and mugging, and he's a world class player. Plus he demos interesting guitars beyond the usual suspects... things like Hagstrom HIIN, Swedes. etc.
TheMrturn1 agreed. Rob's videos are hard to watch, I leave halfway through usually. Not with Ali's videos though!
I couldn't agree more! Ali is an excellent player and one hell of a nice guy. I'am fortunate enough to call him a friend and he's easily my favorite German guitarist! His sound and feel is simply stunning!

I see Grover’s we’re put on…I love how after they faded..the unique colors the tops became and the flame maple on a few are beautiful…Just a dream Les Paul…so few were made…it’s the holly grail of guitars as said…🤙🏻🤙🏻I have an R9 ..2007 vos lemon burst custom shop…beautiful top and it’s my holly grail…lol🤙🏻🤙🏻

I'd love to know what the margins are for a guitar like this! I'm sure Ali had to pay dearly to acquire it, so how much do you mark it up until even the princes of the world say no?

I worked out its in the key of Ab so does that mean dorion is the B mode?
I think it might b C Phrygian.
Its simply C minor/C Aeolian. Chords are C minor, Ab Major, F Minor. Pretty standard C minor progression.

Why didn't you play the middle position...both pickups together? No overt chord examples? No fingerpicking examples? DEMO that '59!
A good friend of mine once asked why he hadn't demo'd the middle position responded, matter of factly, 'fuck the middle position! I was quite surprised as he is such a well mannered person. :)
Agreed. I want to see pretty much everything you can nicely do with a lady of her years. Omitting the middle position (one of my favourites & a standard rhythm pos for many) was a real oversight. You're only going to get to play that baby once so have a really well prepared idea of what you're going to do to show off her capabilities. JMHO !!

Hab ja schon sehr viele Reissue gehört mit diversen Pickups,aber leider nie eine originale.

Great tone,playing and the guitar is also nice,but you would probably sound just as good on any other guitar.
