There can NEVER be too much MOTU. The greatest Toyline ever created. The Skeletor looks cool, the Demogorgon is weird, Sla'ker is cool too but that MossMan and Syklone versions absolutely kill it. Awesome Figures. I think for MossMan they were a little inspired by John Carpenters the Thing and maybe the Swamp Thing.

I’m loving all the MotU goodness, but I’ll admit it feels a bit much nowadays. When the first wave of Origins showed up at Walmart in the fall of 2020 a few months after my son was born, I had every intention of collecting the entire Origins line for both of us to share. He’s now almost 4 years old and we’ve opened up the first few waves, and he does enjoy them. But there’s just so much for me to catch up on at this point that it might be nearly impossible to complete this line due to prioritizing our expenses. Now we’ve got the Cartoon Collection and Turtles of Grayskull on top of finishing out the vintage characters… I love it, but it’s a bit much. And I haven’t even bothered with Masterverse. ~Damon
Unfortunately, the MOTU brand outside the US, which is mainly in Southeast Asia has been discontinued. Thanks to Richwell Prime (distributor for the Mattel brand in the Philippines).
Yes Dan, too much MOTU way too much!!!!!!!!!!!! At least when I was a kid you had the toys from Mattel and that was it from 1983 to 1987! Until 1990 with the New Adventures Of He-man show and toyline! Today all these different waves from various toylines and crossovers LOL! Not to mention the prices!!! He-Broke-Man!⚔💵💰🤑
Ok, three things that absolutely need to see back in toy lines again.. 1. Lenticulars like Sy-Klone and Marvel Secret Wars figures with the lenticular Shields. 2. Heat Sensitive Holographic Sticker like on G1 Transformers and Battle Beast. 3. Full 3D Hologram stickers like on Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light and Supernaturals. That would make my day!
I second this! I actually put a vintage hologram sticker on my OG sy-klone (who was missing his sticker), to give him that Visionaries vibe. It's a planet in outer space sticker, it really works for him.
It's even worse. Walmart The company doesn't actually carry it. Only a few exclusive stores are where it's all dumped. So you should be happy that even two of them carry it because not a single one in my region carry it. Walmart The company actually stopped carrying Motu.
How nice that you can walk into Walmart and pick up masters of the universe. I haven't been able to grab any exclusives for years because mine don't carry Masters
It's interesting, there's a clearer version of Ram-Man out there, which matches up more with this more translucent/clear Moss-Man. I wonder if He-Man has a variant too.
Finding the ordinary releases is difficult enough without store exclusives, so it's always disappointing when figures I really want are only available through stores that don't exist in my country... (I'm looking at you, Gr'asp). The aftermarket prices are just brutal
The Walmarts in my area have completely abandoned MOTU. Can't understand why since they have more than 1/2 the Turtles of Grayskull exclusives. Iwas only able to find the Target exclusives.
I am getting both Stranger Things, all the Mattel Creation exclusive, and the mutated TOG. And to answer your question... no never too many! As long as it last!
My Walmart doesn’t have any MOTU figures of any kind and haven’t for at least a year. Incidentally, no G.I. Joe either. At Target, the Turtles of Grayskull are not stocked much. Minimal space for MOTU in general. I haven’t bought any Origins style figures, but I would at least like to get the Stranger Things mash-ups.
I absolutely LOVE the stranger things 2 pack. I think the upside down is a fantastic fit for MOTU, and is a brilliant way to bring a new evil faction to the story. You might have missed the fact that the flame effects can also attach to the demogorgon's forearms. I missed this when I first opened the figure, as well.
I got the Skeletor/Demogorgon, and then I looked at the Snake Mountain, and realized that it resembles the Upside Down, especially the tunnel with the red vines! I can't wait for the He-Man/Vecna two pack!
These wouldn't be bad if they were actually available but Walmart doesn't actually carry motu origins. So having a Walmart exclusive isn't real. Target is very good at carrying an exclusive.
@@JAbell1966 I talked to the regional manager and he told me that Walmart dropped Motu. He said they put all of the stock. They get into a couple of stores to get rid of it

I wonder if Sy-Klone might have been planned to be a Walmart exclusive at some point, but from the way Moss Man is still overrunning the pegs around here (marked down as low as $9) perhaps they declined it
Really happy that Mattel kind of standardized the neck joint for the majority of the Origins style figures, makes for some great swapping like that swap with Sla'ker.
