I would do the Texas speed 427 cause without the leak down test there might be issues with the rings cause the wet cylinders could give a false reading

The wrap is going to be a hot electric blue (think Grabber Blue / Cornflower Blue for example). Very few colors can pull off white wheels for a contrast. The aforementioned is amongst the strongest pairing.
Those wheels are going to look GNARLY on the Vette! I hope you’re ready to drop a few bags on it because I got a feeling people want to see a Texas Speed 427 in this thing. It’s going to be wild for sure 👀🔥

A compression test won't tell you anything about your oil rings on the pistons. Also a wet hole should read higher than the others if the rings are good. A wet compression test is to do just that to confirm the rings are the reason for lower compression numbers on a bad hole. Your 20 psi difference already and your low on the wet holes. I'd definitely pull the heads and inspect everything really well. Also I learned the hard way being tricked on a wet hole when doing a compression test.
I would just do the top end work and a tune. Don’t wrap it - it all ready looks good # yellow car appreciation.
Texas speed NA motor. Not enough badass NA vettes out there. Everyone just wants a boosted car. Its a giveaway. Go with a solid setup NA anyone can drive on pump gas.

100% seats or valve guides.. Keep the bottom end, new cam and heads, headers, exhaust, clutch, new t56magnum, new torque tube and bearings.. then do your thing!!!!

my c6 has the same smoking issue. tore it apart hoping it burnt rings but cyl 7 wall was fucked near TDC. Had about 3 ripples all the way around the top of the cylinder
Curious what wrap color you are going with as yellow has always been a favorite of mine on the C6. Always loved C6s
I’d be doing a leak down for sure, all the oil in there can be messing with the compression test readings.

The Texas speed 427 would the quickest route and have the car setup for the future. Then, the transmission and rear end and driveshaft will be the weak links

I’m gonna recommend something for the ls, replace the rockers and trunnions with some quality ones, factory ones fail causing severe engine failure , wouldn’t be a bad idea to replace pushrods as well

Do the TSP 427. compression is great but even if its not just the valve seals, piston rings, warped heads or worse could be in there. I have a feeling this wrap is a bright seafoam green, teal or sky blue.

I was thinking like a Gloss Ice white or some kind chrome white Bc he said the color was so bright that it was reflecting off of the box .🤔

id recommend just keeping the stock motor b/c any type of upgraded motor like a texas speed one who ever wins it will probably just pull the motor and sell it for extra $$$$ and find a stock ls1/3/7 motor to put back provided they even keep the car after
It'd be a lot easier and less work selling the car as is than that lol. Assuming there's no clauses that forbid selling for x amount of time (some giveaways have these).

If this becomes afficle with the cam you need a good flowing exsost because you are pushing all that are like any restrictions on the exsost system will rob horsepower

I'm gonna guess that the wrap color is white with a blue hypershift. either that a really bright lime green or electric yellow/green.
Could also be bad pcv system and the intake could have oil ingestion. But if you want to be different then go with the TSP 454. The car would be a drift machine.

Texas speed motor without built bottom end. Keep the compression ratio in the middle to low end of the spectrum so that way the winner/new owner can boost it if they wanted without getting the bottom end completely rebalanced with new pistons, and they don’t have to worry about cooking a cylinder.

its crazy that that corvette is not even running correctly and kept up with a perfectly fine mustang. imagine after the c6 is on point, pretty sure it wouldaa walked the mustang

Dry vs wet compression test... adding oil to a cylinder will bump up compression if there is a ring problem

I’d do tsp just bc the driver side bank was reading significantly lower than the passenger side and the oil could definitely deceive you with a compression test
I’m still sticking with it’s a clutch issue causing the smoking! I would def take a gander at it lol
Not a bad suggestion still! We will have it out soon, but we did see a good bit of oil in the cylinders!

I’ll be honest I was hesitant about the corvette at first but something had been slowly inching me towards getting enteries. The white wheels have solid me 100%. Another great build guys!

It’s a giveaway car legality reasons do a Texas speed or the gm performance 525 for the bottom end then the heads and cam kit then you have brand new heads and a mediocre cam for the current engine good for a drift car maybe see what kind of turbo system y’all can fab on a particular blue new edge

Texas Speed engine for sure, but I think a solid roller set up would be more insane…
I wouldn't trust just a compression test... Oil on the pistons can hide poor compression by assisting the rings in sealing in air. A leak down test would give more info. I would start by pulling the heads and cleaning all the carbon buildup off at a MINIMUM. Replace the valve stem seals and see how youre lookin in 500 miles

TSP has gone down in recent years so id do it yourself.
Also id reccomend a 416 over a 427 for long term reliability.
