- Tornado sirens go off regularly here in my small Louisiana town, but rarely do we see the reality of what a huge Tornado's true power is... In just minutes, my entire town was destroyed.

This video gives me flashbacks. My entire town went through the eye of Hurricane Michael while it was a Category 5. Callaway, FL. The entire town is still mostly destroyed and it's 6 months later.

@@RamitKhanna_ Electricity wants to go to the ground, it won't travel upwards if it can go downwards. And cars are made to withstand lightning strikes, so just don't touch anything metal and go through the line.

Hey bro I feel your pain. I live in Moore, OK and if you know we had an F5, mile wide tornado in 2013 and it wiped out the entire town. It missed our house by about half a mile and it was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced.
I was living in the comfort of my own home in perfectly normal weather, and this video still scared me when I watched it the first time.

It is after the tornado. If you don't live in the tornado alley you don't know anything about tornadoes. After a tornado passes another one can form but the chance of it is very slight. Once the tornado has passed there is no tornado warning.

There are plenty of resources to educate yourself with. Just because someone lives where tornadoes are more likely to form doesn’t mean they’re more knowledgeable on the topic. Speaking from some experience. When the tornado is that close, you are not likely to hear the sirens wail over the sound of the storm.
I think this is the same system that hit 5 miles from my house. I went out there leaving drill early and worked for about a week. I got there so fast that I was put on a search and rescue team. I'll spare the details but needless to say that was the worst day of my life. God bless y'all.

1976 my school took a direct hit during class. I was found 200yrds away from school yet survived with just bruises and scratches. I've always told my family to pay attention to extreme temperature shifts with clouds. Well, it happened again but not to me but them. I was 4hrs away and could do nothing but hope. My home took a direct hit in Cookeville Tennessee. Being a Floridian I've been through dozens of Hurricanes, tornadoes are no joke !!

Directly after this people go out exploring and cause issues. The fact they are laughing isn’t a coping mechanism it’s them finding it amusing. And if everyone said “it’s not my job to check on people” nobody would be a good neighbor.
They’re quite young, and things may not have sinked in until morning. And yes laughing is a form of coping with things, plus it’s an adventure so in your mind it’s an adventure . Also at night people can be more hyper. I see nothing really disturbing by how they were because this is something they have never been through and at the time they only knew that they were curious, in which that’s natural in humans..oh and causes people to be excited.

Looked into it, I believe that it is the Ruston, Louisiana tornado, it got a rating of EF3 with maximum wind speeds of 145 mph

@@TheArt4M I had to stop watching. I live in Oklahoma, the birthplace of tornadoes. The aftermath of these mighty storms can be quite horrific, and where property is destroyed, in the very least, you worry about the financial impact ... and then the very most, loss of life. These are grown men who drove around town to rubberneck, and not once did I EVER hear any concern for anyone affected by the tornado. My first thought when I saw the destroyed gas station was "I hope no one was working that night." It never once dawned on any of them to roll down their windows while driving around and ask people who were obviously shaken, standing out in the street, if they were okay or needed help. As my daughter would say, "those are the kind of people that make Americans look bad."

As a daughter of a first responder, I think seeing the young so insensitive to it and putting themselves is a real worry. First responders have enough to cope with during times like this. Hey Justa6, glad you guys are okay! I am a trained storm chaser and spotter. The damage here is pretty significant after watching the video. The tornado that came through there was rated an EF-3. Which is very strong. It could've been worse. Had it'd be an EF-5, Your whole town would've been wiped off the map. It's unfortunate for those that have lost their lives and RIP to them. Prayers to you and the city of Ruston for a speedy recovery.

5/20/2013 Moore, OK. I was in 5th grade in briarwood elementary. I was sick from school the day it happened. I was playing mw2 and my grandma was hounding me to get my shoes on. I disregarded it, because I had been told that tons of times and nothing happened. But then something did happen. Me and my grandma hid in the kitchen Pantry as the storm got louder and louder. Eventually, it sounded like a train had just ripped through the house. With our feet against the door, it kept opening a few inches and allowing insulation to flood in. After the storm passed and we waited for a second, we opened the door to be greeted by a stormy sky. The garage which we had converted to a room was entirely gone. The roof was gone. The only part of the house not damaged was my room and my grandmas room. I don’t want to sound tough, but I wasn’t scared of worried during or after. All I wanted to know was if my cat was okay (we found her 3 days later in a closet) I wanted to go to my school and see if everyone was okay and I didn’t understand why my grandma wouldn’t let me leave, despite it being literally across the street from our neighborhood. I remember after the storm was quiet, A minute or so passed, and then instantly I just heard so many emergency vehicle sirens at once. I was in shock staring at the sky through the massive holes in our roof, listening to the sirens while the rain hit my face. My mom told me later that she had to leave her car a mile away from the house and then run the rest of the way. The fire fighters were not going to let her into the neighborhood, but she said “my f***ing son is home alone in there!” (Even though i was with my grandma) and they let her in. I’m never going to forget that day, and I’m grateful it wasn’t any worse than it was. We got a better house and had some good money for a while. Moore turned into a booming economic city because everything was rebuilt. That tornado changed my hometown in just a few hours forever.

In Colorado that had happened in a matter of 8hours a yearish ago,it was a cold night got to 36 Fahrenheit, then at around 2in the after noon a thunder storm came through , it was around 58 during the thunder storm and then it was sunny , this was from I would say 6in the morning till around 3in the afternoon, where I live the weather can be crazy,snow thunderstorms and sunny weather in one day, one place in Colorado can average around this time of year a 20-45degree difference from night to day,the only thing we don’t have is hurricanes unless you count Reminence of one
Your girlfriend is a complete fritz, she screams at the rain when she gets out of the truck, then screams when buddy closed the washer.... and those were full loud screams

I can't help but to think of that weather guy from Family Guy every single time I hear somebody say that "It's raining sideways".
Watching this video after the 1 year anniversary of it and it still shocks me that I was on campus when this happened. Still praying for the 2 lives lost in this storm
