I love the F105 style intakes of the F35, it's a really sexy airplane.

@@Pfazio No, that would be the instantaneous turn rate (and it's still quite high).

@@jorehir bit late but the min radius turn doesn't demonstrate max rate speeds necessarily, it's designed to enter at about 400 kts for the first half of the circle and bleed off to about 350kts for the second half. Major Onesie!! Yes the pilot cachet, called the Halo Effect in Tom Clancy's The Right Stuff was truly earned in the earliest days of those ever so flimsy airplanes. Today, naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
Aviation Week about as big a cheerleader for aviation and the military did a survey of af pilots deaths during the Vietnam War, this while the slaughter was in full swing. Found out more af pilots were dying here in the US . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . of car accidents.
Yeah since we took the role, post WW2, of a hulking 18 year old man-child who beats up 8 year old's (3rd world shitholes most without even an AF) and steals their lunch money, yeah not so tough. And well a man who wears a onesie typically doesn't impress me. 😎

If anyone says the f-35 under performs or has terrible arial capabilities show them this video! It is one the most capable airframes ever put on the air! The fact it's engine can instantly power through the stall in those high alpha maneuvers like show it's as capable as the f-16 if not more so! I can t wait to see these with RCAF colours we made the right choice going with the f-35!

In the interest of being fair, the F16 is more famed for its immense turn rate in a high speed, high g, low AoA environment, so pulling a high AoA in the F35 is of limited comparative effectiveness. Most ideally for a fair comparison we'd have a demo where the F35 hits its optimum rate speed and makes a whole circle, so that we can time it and make comparisons to the Viper. For obvious reasons no F35 operator is going to do that any time soon.

When watching this plane it seems more flickable and more agile than the f22.
The only thing the f22 does better and tighter is a loop, but that is of course using its vectoring advantage.

The proper way to warm up your fighter jet, is gradually accelerate, increasing airspeed as the engine and even Electronics warm, and then only thereafter, when the aircraft has built up a sufficient amount of thermal heat from the continued and increasing friction with the atmosphere, then torsional warmth must be accumulated for ultimate high maneuverability through a series of gradually increasingly tightening yawl change and or gyroscopic transitional banking maneuvers where as the chassis becomes more stressed you can place more demands upon it physically.
    Still adding..
This also assists Pilots with some appreciable increase of G-Force adaptation in short time..., meaning, whether or not he or she is already physically accustomed to high G-Force transitions doing the above will ready their body faster in the moments they have to perhaps engage in either training or combat.

In many ways I think BVR this thing is pretty much a king at that. At least we hope. But I heard this announcer talk about dog fighting. I'm not convinced that there's anything in the air. It can win a dog fight against. I don't believe that this is why that it was built. But I do believe between the AI the software suite. It's computer I think. BVR do another kind of strikes. It's going to be the cat's meow. Again, I don't think that there's anything that go in a dog fight against though. But hey, maybe they'll prove me wrong

@@lars9966 you can't design a plane for the occasional plane that sneaks through. Wars are won by your average plane flown by your average pilot. Even as it is, F35 can dogfight better than any fighter in the US arsenal except F22 and a squeaky clean F16. Hornets and C and D model F15s are going out of service. It is way better super Hornets and strike eagles. And with a helmet that can look through the aircraft, you don't even need to be that maneuverable.
