I just saw a 17 second minimum radius turn. If you know anything about actual air combat, that makes the F-35 a badass RATE FIGHTER. A 'rate fight' (otherwise known as a 2circle fight) is when two fighters are trying to hit their most accurate continuous turn speed (in the F-35 it's 17 seconds around the circle) & maintain it indefinitely. The jet that can do this at more degrees/second at less time to get around 360° ... ....wins the fight. This is also known as an 'energy fight.' Dogfighting is about energy management BIGTIME, and that means the F-35, especially with a T:W ratio of 1.07:1 with a 1/2 fuel load (all jets in airshows are flown with 1/2 fuel, & it is common to jettison excess fuel before engaging in extreme maneuvers), contrary to negative claims, is a BEAST of a dogfighter.
I believe we just seen a mistake on the part of the pilot. Every other video has shown 21-22 sec turns. They've been hiding its full potential, or just way cautious pushing its limits.
Doesnt really matter. Modern dogfighting is about getting the angles. AIM-9X is more lethal if the plane can dominate nose authority. Rate fight is only for guns nowadays. F-35 has awesome AoA, and that is enough.
If you load up any 4.5 Gen fighter with weapons, they are nowhere near as maneuverable as when they're airshow slick. Most 4.5 Gen get configured with FLIR pods, EFTs, ECM pods, bombs, and missiles. Even after you E-Jett tanks and bombs, you can't get rid of pods and missiles, which have parasitic drag. All of those types of systems are integrated into the 3 JSF airframes, while weapons are internal. If we saw an airshow demo of an F-16C Block 50, Rafale, or Typhoon combat configured, it would be very disappointing for the audience. They would only be able to do high speed passes for the most part. Minimum ceiling would need to be elevated as well due to side slip with all the weight.
Awesome. That's the wonderful very boisterous engine an abundant top-speed pitch to hurt the best flight. I adore an F-35 to fighter demo squad. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🛫🛫🛫
So.. Does the F35 have to slow down to open its bay doors? At Mach 2 or higher, can it simply open its bay doors and fire? You would think at those high speeds it would cause damage to open them. I know, posted speed is Mach 1.6 which everyone knows is bogus. Even now they are putting in the new GE motors with 56,000 lbs of thrust. At any rate. It makes no sense that you would be able to open anything at speeds over 400 mph or so due to drag. Wing mounted missiles would have to be employed for those higher speeds. Anyone?
@system geo Faster in combat configuration than them all, higher cruise speed than them all, far longer combat radius than them all, and faster acceleration through Mach than a slick big mouth Block 50 Viper, which has better transonic performance than the MiG or Hornet. None of the teens could ever fly their max Mach values even in fractional external stores configurations.
So slow, lazy, it's like a bus! Not ideal for a dogfight! A one Rafale can kill a dozen of f35, it's like a flying bus. Sorry to say, I am just telling the truth, its a wasted money from taxpayers!
It actually gave more jobs to the people, who is part of creating this things and getting paid a lot. You sound like a capitalist who thinks he wasted his money and didnt get ANYTHING FROM IT!!
Clearly doesn’t know much about dogfighting 😂. If you think being slow is bad I have news for you. If it turn tighter than speed isn’t an issue. The Rafale would have to try to fly slower and turn tighter. That’s even if it gets close enough to engage.
An f35 has a 360 view and weapons lock, a Rafale could be behind an F35 and an F35 can get a weapons-grade lock and fire its missiles and kill it without turning around.......dogfighting is for Hollywood movies......lol
The transition from slow flight to vertical climb is just crazy. What a powerful machine and flown very beautifully by a great pilot!
Awesome machine. Awesome pilotess. Awesome camera work. This pedal turn through the clowds...

Looked like a 22 sec MRT to me. Starts at 3:50, finishes out at 4:12. She used to fly F-22As before coming over to F-35A.
@@patrickcamp5885 She was already past 270˚ 10 seconds into the Minimum Radius Turn, which is very impressive.
The fly by the crowd with the bomb bays open and then shut was real cool!
this is why i love the f-35 lightning

OMG i never seen the F35 fly like that very Nice 🇺🇲👍. Greetings from 🇨🇱
She's a Beast.
So f*cking beautiful. 🇺🇸🦅
I could’ve sworn it has vectored thrust!

Great👍👏 video🎥
wow
So Agile man...
?
Did you see the Stealth fighter fly by. q8D
Full afterburner at low height. Of course it would look great, but this is is not what F-35 was designed for.
Part of the program specs were to match or exceed the performance of the F-16, F-18, and MiG-29.

Bit of a lame display, I've seen the F35 do tail slides in other video's
oh shit, it can fly. truly, i really hope it's stealthy cause it flies like an iron. so bad radius turn
@steevoy Dude, that was a 17 second 9G turn. That's blistering.
@@chriswallis2736 how did u mesure that?
Sick but I just can’t help but think it’s a knockoff f-22
🤨😐🥱
And how do you feel after thinking
Як-141😆😆😆
wheres the yak-141 now, hehehe
@@jemzbundzdobo7310 it became f35b probably
@@Made_In_Heavenn nuh, americans dont use cheap junk like that.

@@Made_In_Heavenn so if f35b is a copy of yak141, so the chinese j20 is a copy of eurofighter and su57 is a copy of the yf23.

The Rafale would be dead before the pilot ever knew the F-35 was in the area
