My wife bought me the pregscan 5 years ago for Christmas. I am now up to 70 cows and it is nice to preg check when I have time or there is a cow that is in question. I work full time off the farm so most of my cow work is done late at night or on the weekends.
I like the idea of Mike & Erin being able to preg-check their own hers. We all know there is only so many dollars and feed to go around. Also I like how they show off their company's how help them, exp aeroquip, and the company helping preg-check; they are not your normal sponsers, but then again im not in the cattle raising business...more a little later...Steveb

great video we had the vet do ultrasound each month on our dairy farm and it was a tool we could not do without you do a great job keep it up I'm a big fan once a farmer always a farmer God Bless
Hi, Mike Another great Video on the Ranch. That Ultrasound Machine are a must u should be able to do other things/ that kind of machine. Glad u taking control of your Ranch. Good luck & God bless u & family. Have a bless week.
Great video as always Mike. I hope you can somehow get your hands on one of those permanently. Self preg checking cows seems like a great way to save ranchers a lot of money
Sounds like just what you need! The sharing of the unit makes it more financially accessible... I'm hoping it'll work well for you! Thanks for the vid, Mike. Love to all of you from the Upstate in South Carolina 💕
When you put pencil to paper, and divide the cost between several ranches it sure does become more financially accessible. Thanks for watching Dbirdey Cappozzi. -Mike
Great video Mike... Thanks for the humor at the end! Looking forward to learning more about your ranch life and the preg checks in the coming episodes. Keep up the good work and ignore those naysayers! Your channel is real and is not laden with fake product endorsements and a bunch of unboxings! Thank you!
Hi again! Good vid and info Mike. Really helpful equipment but that's exactly why it's expensive! Hopefully your supply stores neighbors other companies or organizations could help so you could get one. A perfect item for the wish list!! Happy for you you're now updating restructuring simplifying your ranch procedures. You go Mike!!
With cattle prices down it may not be hard to get a few ranchers together and purchase a unit. Could pay for itself in its first year of use. I do love the colorful commentary and you could show the IMV video at the next Ranch Roundup lol
Hey Mike, Looks like you are managing to take more control of the ranch. Great share and super cool tech. I haven't seen one of those around these parts but I bet I will soon. Keep up the good work.
IMV imaging is the coolest tool yet for y’all...!! I hope you guys can co-op with a couple other ranchers to make it affordable for all of you!! That was neat-o Mike...thanks for sharing. So looking forward to preg checking!! Happy trails my friend...
Mike, this video is so cool! It is because of technology like this, the cameras that allow you to precisely Artificially Inseminate cows, sexed semen, carcass ultrasound, feed efficiency tracking systems, precision cattle feed, and so many other technologies that make me super excited to spend a future in the beef industry. We have preg checked a couple groups but have a couple more to do. This is super cool technology especially because you can call the cows yourself and do it at your convenience. Thanks IMV for stopping at your ranch to show us all what this means. Good luck preg checking coming up and hope your pregnancy rates are high and all cows are bred up close early in the calving period. Thanks again so much and hope the calves are doing well! I've been watching sales all week and I am going home this weekend to see some newly weaned calves from out West!
Another great video mike I'm hoping there's enough ranchers around you y'all can come together and invest in one and share it that would be great we'll have to wait and see what happens I hope all the cows are pregnant
Looks like an awesome tool. Go in halves with a neighbor and it’s paid for in 3 or 4 years it sounds like. Got more neighbors? Then it’s even faster . As long as you can schedule your checks then it wouldn’t be an issue. Thanks for the great video!
I hope you get to use that preg checking machine for all the rest of your cattle. Never realized how much work goes into just one cow to put a calf on the ground.
Thanks for the video, Mike, my only suggestion is to manage the soundtrack so the viewer does not have to keep turning up the volume to hear the voices and then way down when the music would take over.
That is absolutely awesome! I never knew a Minnesota company was doing this! I'm going to look into them more. Thanks for sharing Mike! I'm excited for preg checking.
@@IMVimaging I'm up by Alexandria, so not too terribly far. quite a few dairy farms in our area along with a presence of angus herds. I am impressed with your products.

Thanks Mike it’s vids like this that keeps me watching, from my couch here in Colorado I don’t get to learn these things, really hoping three bulls got 100% of the work done
Hello Mike, that device is a good tool especially in large farms dedicated to breeding and selection for the sale of genetics, in my country it is difficult to find used and new devices you can not find them for less than € 20,000. Greetings from a farmer in southern Spain.
Mike it may seem like I know everything but I also run a 1500 Farrow to wean sow unit. And I preg check em all the time 99.9 effective I preg check them at 30 days
They do head mounted units with peripheral vision. That’s what you need when working outside in your own system. There are also arm mounted units but you are wasting time with those looking at your arm. I am lucky that ai technicians are available to do this job at reasonable cost, about a third the cost of a vet. As he is doing the job all the time and he is virtually 100% accurate to within a few weeks. He charges per cow rather than hourly so it’s in his interests to work fast while vets spin out jobs. They can sometimes tell you why something is not in calf but by then the damage is done and it’s best to get rid of the cow in normal situations. When the Chinese start making knock off versions of this prices will tumble
You are right, pretty so everyone will be expected to bring the cattle to the office like dogs or cats. Sad world when everyone else’s time is more important than the ranchers time or energy is better then yours. They forget where their food comes from. Hope this works great for you and Erin.
Good way to see if the bulls are all work or play. Also a good way to keep a list of the cows that throw the bull and not pregnant . Sort of saying 3 strikes and your out of here.
We’ve been preg checking the old way with arm length rubber gloves. Less expensive than the vet, but certainly not as convenient as this. $5-10,000 isn’t a huge investment in the long run.
Blake, I totally agree with you here. That in the long run it isnt huge, and if ya split it with a few other ranchers that price drops real fast. -Mike

Hey Mike, what happened to the new corral/chute you had installed? I can't recall what the name of it is. You had to take down the old wood one you built in order to accommodate the new one.
Its still there, and on the list to get tied in. With the snow and cold and wind we decided to do it inside the barn. And with just the three cows to do :) Thanks - Mike
Rotational grazing is hard here as I have said before. Its the same reason we only have one cutting of hay. Once its cut, or grazed, it doesnt grow back. Our rain that grows grass happens in April and May. A perfect example is this, the home pasture, they graze from April through about June, then they start moving, rotating even, through all the other pastures on the ranch. By when fall comes, they move back to the home pasture, but it hasn't grown back, even though they have been gone since June. Not enough rain to make it grow back. Thanks - Mik
question for you mike checking this late in the season and finding a cow is not bred its too late to breed her or do you do a check on cows earlier so you could still breed the ones that aren't and how early is early

Great video Mike. Could you use this ultrasound for other things besides pregnancy Like if one your cows get sick with something internal could it be used in that way?
Great questions, Cmoreson. We have customers using the ultrasound for beyond repro work such as scanning teats for mastitis, lung scanning, and testes scanning on bulls.
I’ll bet the corporate guys from your “last life” are having a beer, shaking their heads & saying....I never thought Mike would be a bovine gynecologist....and other jokes!

Great video Mike. Could you use this ultrasound for other things besides pregnancy
Like if one your cows get sick with something internal could it be used in that way?

Great questions, Cmoreson. We have customers using the ultrasound for beyond repro work such as scanning teats for mastitis, lung scanning, and testes scanning on bulls.
