- How does one go from an intellectual understanding of the ‘Self’ to a living realization? Through the aid of Vedantic Meditation, Swami Sarvapriyananda shares methods that can be used to reach this ultimate spiritual goal. This discourse is inspired from a verse from the Brihadharanyaka Upanishad (Mantra 4.4.12) as taught in the book, Pancadasi by Vidyaranya:
"If a man knows the Self as ‘I am this,’ then desiring what and for whose sake will he suffer in the wake of the body?"

One of the finest speakers and interpreters of philosophy across the globe who takes you through an experience of enlightenment, every time he speaks. It does not matter whether one is believer or not. It does not matter whether one is interested or not. It does not matter whether one is into it or not. Just listen to what he says attentively and try to understand, the rest is a journey through self. This is one of his finest.

When the swami spoke about the practice being there when you need it, and also the idea of allowing things to come up as an opportunity to do your practice, how incredibly liberating and practical that is. No dogma, you can allow the practice to come or not. So beautiful, thank you so much for this teaching and for this beautiful resource.
Incorrect. That would require dualism. If you "choose" one path, you gave up your creativity. The very ideal of choice is dualism.

Thank you Swami. You make spirituality a logical choice and not an esoteric one. However, phrases like "the world is not real", create an uneasy discordance between our lived experience and what we are supposed to experience. Using an analogy from quantum field theory can help avoid this discordance. Matter at one level is made of particles. At another level it consists of waves. Both are true in their respective contexts. Similarly, this world is real at one level but not at another more fundamental level. Thank you.
The major distinction between what is "real" and what is "false" is that the "false" is ever changing while the "real" always remains the same in its true state.

the divine truth underlying all paths is the same, advaita is very similar to wahdat ul wujud
I am a hindu raised in Middle East blessed to be born in the family following the NEWEST DENOMINATION of Sanatan Dharma. I too have found Islam's core(especially when I came to know about its Esoteric interpretation through Sufism) to be the most syncing with Our Vedanta.
