When you made the clap you designed the amp envelope the way you want it. Why you had to use a compressor? Isn’t possible to shape it the way you want it with the amp env?

yeah that is possible. it depends on how you want to think about it. in this case I decided that rather than spending some time on the amp envelope trying to get the dynamic response I want, it would be easier to do it with a compressor... it all depends on what is easier in a situation...
