    this was back when if a guy had long hair it meant something. the schools didn't allow it yet. and you could get harassed by the cops for wearing your hair long.

      The script is still a matter of contention, but it is credited to Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Terry Southern....

    People spoke so differently back then. It’s not just the words, it’s the manner in which they spoke. Even in the 60’s there was a sort of refinement, if you could call it that, that isn’t seen much today.

    Was it Hopper who had initial doubts about casting someone who became his good friend. "He has the wrong accent.!" Someone told him "He can change it,its called acting!"
