Oh, I wish we could have gotten acquainted with your cat for a little longer! Such a great representation of how we, who work from home, are needing to deal with our furry children while on Zoom or Teams calls! Thank you Erin for what you do. You are a true inspiration!
My favorite part of the video was defiantly camera loving cat and your look at her/him was priceless lol. Also that Sweet Nymph is just gorgeous, I hope you show us when it is in bloom.
I grew a 'Charisma' amaryillis last year... truly one of the most beautiful amaryllis I've ever seen! I let one of the stems go to seed, harvested them, and actually got them to germinate! I now have a pot of about 15 wee amaryllis.. only about 4 inches tall. I understand you keep them alive year round when they're young. They won't bloom for 3 more years.. we'll see if I can keep them alive for all that time!!! Thanks for another great video!!
My gosh, that Terra Cotta variety bulb was humongous!!!!! I planted a variety called Minerva about 5 years ago. Summers outdoors, I let the leaves brown and then repot it Jan 1. Three bloom stalks last March. I liked your idea about "decorating" soil level of pot. Still amazed at size of your bulb. TY for nice vid
It was fun to be on the other side of the cat, since my coworkers see mine walk by on every single Zoom call. She has an impeccable sense for when her audience is present. 😂 I love the woodland arrangement so much. That’s 100% my jam.
I have five amaryllis in a pot together with moss and natural embellishments. It makes the display so much prettier. I also have some potted up in individual pots. I ordered a ton of amaryllis this year. Never can have too many in my opinion. They sure brighten up the gloomy days of winter for sure!
I planted mine out in my garden all summer. Their leaves got huge and two of them had babies! They're in their hibernation in my basement right now, but i can't wait to pull them out and see them bloom again!
I like the idea of adding sticks, I have some saved from last year too. Will be collecting fungus to save for future arrangements, never thought to do that! Brilliant!
Love the twigs! I am going to do that in my sunroom. Also...My totebag arrived today! It is gorgeous! Thank you for introducing me to Tiny Pine Art.... I love Courtney's style.
love all your creative ideas !!! I'll be on the hunt for sticks & fungii tomorrow out in my yard ... and I just place 2 big ole orders for bulbs (which I swore I wasn't going to do). I'm lucky 'cause here, just north of Atlanta, I can plant these bulbs out in the garden come springtime !!! so much fun ... thanks for sharing
Oh, Erin, thank you for that. LOVELY!!! Thanks for sharing and the Kitty passing through the shot was a treasure!! Guess you have lots of pals who love Kitties. Your ideas are a breath of fresh air. Hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving. Hugs from Florida! 👍🏻🥰❤️🦃😁
Thank you for that, I have never planted an amaryllis bulb…but like the idea of having something colorful in winter. Might give it a go, I just ordered my first 2 pots from Wakefield pottery, looking forward to their arrival!
Oh my……..I hadn’t heard of Wakefield pottery before, (can you believe it?) so looked it up and see it’s near Madison about a 90 minute drive from me in Racine. Love, love that style of pot! Guy Wolff is too far away, so I’m thrilled to support a WI craftsman/woman. I don’t know if I should thank you or be very afraid though. I can sure sink some cash into those gorgeous pots! 🤭🤑😉
Love your Wakefield pots-thank you for introducing them to us. I actually found a small shop that sells them. Now I need one to put amaryllis in and decorate with moss and sticks lol. Maybe the sticks will help stake the flowers up! Great video ☺️
Thank you for the reminder to get my Amaryllis bulbs ASAP! Last year I actually tried out the waxed bulbs that don’t need soil or water (or anything truly), they were awesome!
I like the look but never understood why people say these can’t be planted any deeper. I got tired of moving mine around and planted it at the crown outside in zone 7 it’s come back 5 years now.
Size does matter 😂!! Cute pots! These are fun to grow. Awesome twigs. Nice pick me uppers! I like the Paperwhites 😊 Thanks, Erin. Happy 🦃 Day to you and yours!
Super inspiring- you have changed my concept of the whole bulb force situation- love the form, texture, fungi, and moss additions- so cool - too late for this year but I’ve got it in the design-bank - thank you
I know so many people who toss their amaryllis bulbs every year and buy new ones. It kills me! I buy a new one each year to add to my collection. Question please. When the bulb is surrounded by layers of the papery covering literally falling off, can it be removed or should we do our best to keep it on? Thank you Erin!
Gorgeous! I love the idea of the curly willow stems. Mine have been outside all year (mild climate) and have leaves but no flower stalks so far. I brought them in but I have no idea if they’ll start their bloom cycle or if I’ve trained them back into their natural spring-blooming routine… tbd!
Years ago, I saw a display of amaryllis where the pots were laid on their sides and the flower stalks had curved upward to bloom. How is that done, do you know? It was a striking display on a mantlepiece. Thanks for a great video! really loved the moss/fungi idea.
This may be a silly question but can all amaryllis bulbs be planted and left in the ground in zone 8 or are there “specialty” varieties that aren’t hardy? I know some people grow them in the ground and let them do their thing around here but they’re always the plain red kind. Beautiful no matter which variety, just unsure of what I can and can’t keep in the ground here in zone 8 NC. Thanks, and happy thanksgiving everyone!!
Question for you. I had Amaryllis for the first time last year and I did take them out for the summer and they have very tall leaves and look beautiful. I am in zone 5B in Wisconsin as well. I forgot to bring them in until a couple weeks ago and now I have them drying out in my basement. They still have very green leaves. Should I cut them off and store them for six weeks before bringing them out again? Or is it too late to do anything? Thanks. I subscribe to your channel and looking forward to hearing from you.
Your design provides plenty on interests until they bloom. And the clay/ceramic pots are hefty enough to keep pots from tipping when the blooms reach their height. I made the mistake one year leaving one in a plastic pot only to have it tip and break the stem.
Love the added cat to the video. Reminds me of watching Laura on Garden Answer.
Yeah, there seems to be an orange cat theme with gardeners. :)
Your reaction to your kitty cat interruption was HYSTERICAL!! GREAT VIDEO, very artistic ideas. Thank YOU.
Oh, I wish we could have gotten acquainted with your cat for a little longer! Such a great representation of how we, who work from home, are needing to deal with our furry children while on Zoom or Teams calls! Thank you Erin for what you do. You are a true inspiration!
I almost hit the thumbs down button for editing out Mr Cat! :)))
It would be so interesting to meet him!
@@ip4265 - on the contrary...👍for keeping it in. Made me smile. 😻

When the cat walked by it reminded me of my cat. He has attended all my Zoom meetings the past 2 years. I love those amaryllis!! Great ideas.

I love amaryllis, and have asked my hubby for the second time to get me one for Christmas, so maybe this year I’ll get lucky.thanks for sharing.👍❤️😊
I planted my 1st amaryllis and now a bloom is emerging, it will be a deep red! Exciting
Love the addition of branches, fungi and moss. That's why i watch videos. You come away with the best of ideas! Thank you.

Fantastic! I have 4 planted this year, there’s nothing more glorious than a beautiful amaryllis in bloom ❤️❤️

Thanks for great ideas.. I got a big laugh when the cat went by!
Love the addition of the fungi. I think that was Turkey Tail! Inspiring me to plant some of my own.
Ditto.
I bought several at Walmart for less than $5.00. Rural King also had them. Thanks for the cute ideas to make them pretty while waiting on the flowers.
I planted mine out in my garden all summer. Their leaves got huge and two of them had babies! They're in their hibernation in my basement right now, but i can't wait to pull them out and see them bloom again!
I love this kind of display so much more than a plain bulb in a pot. I think I'll get an amaryllis.
Awww the cat is so cute 😻
Such nice ideas! You can also tuck some Christmas ornaments around the bulbs too. 🎄
Love the addition of the fungi to the pot!
Beautiful, inspiring video! 💐
I love those handmade pots! Maybe Santa will bring me one! lol
Beautiful fungi! Love the idea.
Loved this demonstration...thanks for sharing.
Pretty, pretty and I love your pots !!!
Love your creativity about as much as I love that look you gave your cat. 😂 💚 These displays will be gorgeous! Thanks for the beautiful ideas.
Gorgeous. I always love such small ,cute, attracting videos.

Oh I'm so happy to hear that!
They all looked beautiful and loved the moss and branches added too 😊
Oh, I have to try these next year. Thanks for the inspiration!
Amarillis so easy and fun I like the creative ways never thought of adding texture giving that a try this year. Thanks!!
Hey, Erin...just found your other vid on plantings amaryllis, question on watering answered...hugs!!! m
Those all look beautiful, Erin!

Great video. Inspired me to try growing amaryllis. I just ordered from Longfield Gardens 💕
Thanks for the lovely ideas.
Great video - your potting embellishments are so pretty. Also, enjoyed the kitty appearance!
Love it Erin!
I think its a turkey tail polypore. Nice addition! I needed to hear from you today. Glad this was in my feed!
Love all your pots! Can't wait to see the blooms!
I have those fungi things on the cut trunk of a huge ash tree that was killed by ash borers. Thank you for that great ideas.
Lol when your cat video-bombed you! 🤣
I had the same problem with the third bulb. No room! Thanks for the info on early bloomers and late bloomers. 👍🏻
Thank you for that, I have never planted an amaryllis bulb…but like the idea of having something colorful in winter. Might give it a go, I just ordered my first 2 pots from Wakefield pottery, looking forward to their arrival!

Maybe next year!!!
Dang! Makes me regret not ordering bulbs!
You can usually find them at your local hardware store and sometimes grocery stores
Check your local garden center for bulbs or big box store for potted bulbs.

Has your Cat been talking to Russell?
😂😂😂
Oh Russell is FAR more charming than Fergus. Don't get me wrong, I love the big guy but he has some serious attitude sometimes.
@@TheImpatientGardener maybe but he is definitely figuring out how to get screen time. 😂😂😂
Thanks a lot for your video. I kept my Amaryllis in their pots from last year. do I need to repot them this year with fresh soil?

I love the extras that you added to the pots. How long do they need to be in their rest period before I repot them?
Nice background

Do you have any saved from last season you could show how to get them to rebloom. I know that's kind of a whole process and timing thing
Are those all new bulbs? Are any of them from last year? I love the moss and lichen and twigs so pretty.
These are all new this year.
when in bloom do you remove the leaves?
Your design provides plenty on interests until they bloom. And the clay/ceramic pots are hefty enough to keep pots from tipping when the blooms reach their height. I made the mistake one year leaving one in a plastic pot only to have it tip and break the stem.
Where did you get those green orchid pots?
Just a local garden center. They were very inexpensive.
Great ideas! Those bulbs are GINORMOUS! They're going to be beautiful. I love those grey pots too , where did they come from?
I got those from Terrain (shopterrain.com). I just saw the other day that they still have them.
Too late to order online, of course…any ideas where we can find the bulbs?
Local garden center for bulbs or big box for potted bulbs
Fun
Why would a tall stalk tip over?
They just get a little top heavy.
@@TheImpatientGardener ok I thought I was doing something wrong
Just thought of something, does the containers you are using need to have drainage or are we watering so little that it doesn't matter? 🤣😂🤣
It’s best for it to have drainage. I suppose if you were careful about watering you could go without drain holes but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Enjoyed the video thank you ( u k )
are yours bothered by fungus gnats? they are a real problem for me and my one hundred bulbs
Too much water brings on the gnats. Water less and use mosquito bits in the water.
Fergus!
