- In today's solo episode, I'm sharing a recap of my experience running the California International Marathon. I take you through how I prepared to achieve a PR of 2:39, in the days and moments leading up to the starting line. You will hear everything from how I fueled before and during the race to the course conditions and what was going through my head that ultimately led to an important epiphany. Enjoy!

It’s the Gear man!
Hope you read this but you prob won’t. I’m a 70 year old Army veteran. (Viet Nam era)
My great little victory was passing you the last mile in Bataan Death March Memorial. I called out your name not knowing for sure if it was you bc I going by the ruck sack you had. Military copy. You said yea, I said: love your videos man! You said thanks! You were walking with the waist strap undone. I was running in my issue Alice Pack with my unit patches of both my brother and I . (We both served my brother passed away)
Anyway, You are an inspiration. I finally embarked on the MAF to train. I’m following your instruction and very inspired. I’m not going to pass you again but what a great little victory. Never give up! Go one more brother!
Proud of your dedication to the process.
BTW as you know Bataan doesn’t give out medals unless you place in your age. I got a medal in the mail for first in age. My most prized!
Congratulations again! Wow!
Truly inspiring what hard work, G1M Sport, and lots of steroids can accomplish.
I got so juiced when this video hit my desk! been waiting on this. I got my first marathon coming up Jan 13th in lake mead, NV, Sub 4 hour Goal. I stay picking your brains #G1M
Man this is like church for running u would be a good pastor nick good stuff man
"And within that first couple sips of coffee.... BOOM! Magic happened." This is the t-shirt we all need from BPN. Nothing more specific to the running community than that! 😂🙌☕ #SoMuchTruth #BareItAll
Ha ha, spot on!
Helll yeahhh brother you inspire so many people to get out there and start and to go on more and then they’re inspiring people in their lives and it just keeps unfolding unraveling to more people getting it in
Awesome to see consistency pay off!! GO ONE MORE!
Congrats on the new PB, kicking ass!!
Thanks for serving the community, we're all behind you, and by putting this podcast out each week you're supporting all of us.
Enjoy the festive season, you deserve it! Blessings from Aus 🙏
Very well done Nick. Congratulations
Dude, you killed it. You set the standards, stuck to the plan, executed everything to a tee and the results spoke for itself. Great job out there Nick and thank you for inspiring me to introducing me to the world of Endurance and wanting to be a better version of me daily.
#GOONEMOREIN2024
Badass! Wayy longer than I could ever run, you're an inspiration to this community you've built
Great prep, great execution. Nice job!
Best podcast out there
Congratulations Nick great accomplishment and inspiration 👏👏👏
Hey man. I want to tell you that I find the way that you navigate trough obstacles and really “go one more” inspiring. You’ve recently influenced multiple aspects of my own life with the podcasts you did with Chris Williamson 🙏🏼
I also find that trough the experience of your own journey, you share alot of valuable insights on certain aspects of life.
Thanks bro 🙏🏼
Congrats Nick!
Just let you know that there so so many runners ( including me) who have been testing to get their PR for so long time. 5 years is nothing compared to those people. We all know what you are talking about. Unsuccessful years and aging, that what you have not encountered yet.
Congratulations on your PR🎉
Awesome episode as always
You are such an inspiration!
So proud of you brother ! EARNED.
You MURDERED your old PR! Was on the course with ya (though finished like an hour and a half behind you….but sub-4 which was my goal so yay me). Way to go man, looking fwd to see what you’ve got in store next.
Need to talk about TRT.
@@rsbmgI mean his TRT use lol
@@rsbmglol
after a few sips of coffee, boom magic happened lol.
Well done Nick.
Great job Nick! My first HALF marathon is scheduled in May 2024... I hope my half marathon time is less than your full marathon time 😂
Coffee is magic brother! Congratulations
GO ONE MORE ⚡
Hey Nick love everything that you’re doing. It’s amazing how far you’ve come since the 4:00 hour marathon. It would be really nice if you recapped at a high level of how you were able to improve your fitness / overall training blocks since that 4 hour marathon that allows you to get to sub 2:40. I’m very interested in your base building strategy over the years and what KPIs you hit to hit to get to the next level in training blocks
My wife always asks me "Why do you get up so early for races?"...... I cannot risk not having the "magic happen" on race morning. Gotta give yourself plenty of time.
New vid lfg!!!
G.1.M Sport going down 6am at the river about to get in my 4 miles
blud is drinking g1m for a 4 miler
@@tyroneeasy9804 I run ever day no day off get to say on point

Impossible with his weight to make 02h39 without PED...All the runners that I know who make this time weight above 60-65kg and run a lot (120-130 km per week)...So, when you're not natural, you should say what you take and not be a liar...
Where did you have the 5 gels?
Very important to remember that Bare is on PEDs and has been for a very long time. Don't let any of those achievements get you down guys. U can do anything.
That's a bold statement.
@@GTE_Channel how?? Are we really going to sit here and say he isn't on gear?? Even if it's just test. We can't say he isn't. That's nuts
Even if he is, the amount of hard work and discipline he demonstrates is insane. PEDs wont give you his dedication, mental toughness, and rigorous training.
@@LuisGonzalezRGGhis dedication is solid. But y'all act like his work ethic is uncommon. It's actually very very common in endurance sports. People who take endurance sports seriously are borderline excercise addicts. Most of my tri team works just as hard if not harder all while working normal jobs. Testosterone is a massive advantage in recovery. Recovery is the name of the game in endurance sports...
@@LuisGonzalezRGG- If that’s the case, why not just don’t do drugs? His entire brand is built on his supplements providing results for performance. If he wasn’t peddling snake oil for millions of dollars, followers, and accolades, it might be ok. But he’s lying to people saying maltodextrin and salt with a little hard work is going to produce a 2:39 marathon. If only you had his dedication, you could do it. It’s all BS
Try plant protein powders and see your recovey improve ...
This guys in juice, you think plant protein powder will make any difference
Regardless of Bare being on PEDS, I’m hearing you need gear to do a 2:40 marathon…..absolute bullshit 😂 people are stupid. But it is amazing that he is as big as he is and did a 2:39.
Don’t all runners get PRs on that course? Me personally I’d want to set a goal on a different course.
Is Nick really on PED's?
