- In this video I show you how to remove a door mirror on a second generation (NB) Mazda MX-5 Miata / Eunos Roadster.
Most NB Miatas have power mirrors.
My next video will show you how to remove the interior door panel and how to unplug the electrical connector.
Tools required:
-Phillips #3 screwdriver.
-Penetrating oil if the mounting screws are stiff or seized up.

I was today years old when I realized that you can rotate the mirror inward.
Those screws may actually be Japanes Industrial Standard (JIS) screws which look similar to phillips but they aren't. Getting a few JIS screwdrivers can prevent a lot of issues with messing up the head of the screw.

Accidentally flipped the mirror to regular position while off the car now it won’t go back HELP
They are tricky.
You have to make sure that the mounting screws don’t jamb up when you twist it back too. If the are still in the mirror, pull the threads all the way down and tape them in place.
This will prevent the heads from coming up and chipping the mirror body.
Then, grab some rubber coated work gloves 🧤 or rubberized garden gloves. This will make your hands stronger, stickier and allow you to twist the two half’s of the mirror to the desired position.
I can't turn mine the other way it will only rotate towards the window. Any ideas why?
The spring is very stiff. Be careful that the screws are not sticking up when you twist the mirror.
