So I was driving this morning and stopped at a red light. The guy next to me had his windows down and he was blasting this song. I grabbed my phone and opened shazam and now here I am. Thanks guy, thanks shazam. This band is right up my alley
The first time I realized I was living in this world I was probably looking, at the sky And forgive me but I don't know if I remember enough to say What the air was really like that day May have been clouds or sun Don't recall, I was young And the next time I realized I was breathing in the life Was the first time that I saw your face I wanted you but I don't know if I was brave enough to say How the sight of you messed up my mind And I got scared, right away And okay, right away The next thing I knew, the stars were eyes up in the night And the ocean breathing heavy like a beast I held you but I don't know if I was strong enough to say How the way it felt messed up my mind may have been clouds or sun I don't recall, I was young
typed the word "mountain" into the Spotify search bar while looking for something else, and something about the title of this song caught my eye, so I started playing it out of curiosity. Added it to my library within the first 10 seconds and haven't been able to stop listening since
I was literally trying to find videos of actual fruit bats so I typed that in the search bar and this popped up and piqued my interest so I decided to give it a listen. I’m glad I did. ADHD is a wild ride, man! The concept of the video is pretty awesome.
@@gandolfoangelo because there are hilarious videos of fruit bats where the image has been flipped so it looks like they’re standing upright. Then they put some gothic sounding background music and the video in black and white so it looks like dancing bats in a goth nightclub! 😂 It’s funny and cute. 🤷♀️ Not sus at all.
i actually just discovered this song today thanks to spotify and have listened to it on repeat. as well as watched multiple videos. it's THAT good. thank you, fruit bats!!!
Especially enjoyed the bear anatomy (balls acknowledged), immediately followed by the backwards binos and taxidermy tackle. VERY cool tuneage...smooth tone
I think the bear represents himself. It represents what he did wrong and his decisions that led to the woman leaving him. She wasn't killed. He just pushed her away. He goes on a quest to conquer and seek vengeance for his lost love, but it's silly in the end.
The Bear is him. His wife left the other version of him and fell in love with the wild version. That's why she's partying with the Bear, that wild part of us that women have loved for millennia that sadly lacks in many men of modern times. If he could only embrace his wild side...
Someone tweeted about a cute fruit bat and how it was his fault corona virus started . I went to UA-cam after watching a funny video of a fruitbat this was the next thing that popped up and honestly thank you corona virus for bringing me here
omfg this rules. if yall ever make it down to the fl keys i'll produce one of your videos free of charge. love you guys. keep up the great work. cheers mates.
huge modest mouse fan... but my tides are starting to reseed in the fruit bats. Great song, i needed to hear this. I was giving up on music. not anymore.
This song reminds me of a girl I met in art class during highschool. We both seemed really into each other and constantly goofed around and helped eachother with each others projects. One day she asked me if I wanted to have lunch with her and I accepted. However when I got to where she wanted to eat I froze up. I watched her thru the front window waiting patiently for me and started to panic and ended up quietly slipping away. It wasn't the same after that and we slowly went back to being 2 classmates that barely knew eachother. I still think about that all the time. I'm sorry I stood you up Joy.
lol that is hilarious!😂 re-listening for the many-ist time I love this song. But first time ever watching the video! In the year 2024! Very fantastic hope yall are doing well! Hope yall survived the planned-demic!
Well, it's about those moments in your life that are so big that you feel the most alive. You only get a few in your life. He's talking about his first memory, of looking up at the sky, probably feeling small in the grand scheme of things for the first time ever. It was so long ago, he can't remember exactly what he saw in the sky, maybe it was cloudy, or sunny. The feeling was what stuck in his mind. The next moment he felt that was looking at her face. Again, he doesn't remember the details, just how it felt to see her face. It made him feel alive again, for the first time since that moment as a child. All of these things were so long ago, and he's reminiscing about these moments that made him feel so alive. Anyway, here's a more professional assessment in case mine sucked: The "Humbug Mountain Song" is a reflective song about the process of growing up and learning to accept life for what it is. The song describes the singer's journey from a wide-eyed, naive child to an adult who confronts the beauty and uncertainty of life. Through this journey, the singer learns to accept things as they come, letting go of previous expectations and allowing himself to simply enjoy the experience. The song suggests that, when all is said and done, we will all still find ourselves in the same place, no matter how far we have come, and that the only thing that matters is the journey itself.

I feel like this is the song I've been looking for my whole life.
The first time I realized I was living in this world
I was probably looking, at the sky
And forgive me but I don't know if I remember enough to say
What the air was really like that day
May have been clouds
or sun
Don't recall, I was young
And the next time I realized I was breathing in the life
Was the first time that I saw your face
I wanted you but I don't know if I was brave enough to say
How the sight of you messed up my mind
And I got scared, right away
And okay, right away
The next thing I knew, the stars were eyes up in the night
And the ocean breathing heavy like a beast
I held you but I don't know if I was strong enough to say
How the way it felt messed up my mind
may have been clouds
or sun
I don't recall, I was young
Thank you! Great lyrics.
Thanks for these lyrics xx

Don’t remember this song being used as the theme to The Revenant, but I’m not mad about it. 🖤
Damn that's a catchy riff.
In the absence of this video, this song made me cry. The video is just silly and kind of weird lol. But the song is moving.
