I'm a black woman who appreciates black men who own their truth and not hide behind us because he's too scared to face his true self. I've had enough of these downlow black men using us to keep their insecurities hidden away.

Sorry you got outed like that. That was horrible. Glad things worked out for you. Living a double life isn't easy. Honesty is really the best way to go. I dated a senior in college when I was a freshman and we kept it secret and he always had a girlfriend and I accepted that because I loved him so much. I couldn't live like that today. This was over 40 yrs ago but it sounds like things haven't changed that much hearing your story. Best Wishes!

Really great advice about sharing who you really are with somebody. My 15 year old has told me he is gay and I'm happy he knows who he is. But I was really surprised how many years he had been hiding this. Luckily, he had 1 friend that he talked to all those years, and I'm really glad he wasn't going through this on his own. Thanja fir sharing your great story. Xx

Thank you for mentioning therapy! I have several black friends who refuse to go ‘cause they think that it’s only for crazy people, and that people who go are weak. They way I explain it is that I have a degree in kinesiology and my cousin has a degree in clinical psychology...so she comes to me for advice on health/fitness/food since I went to school for it for years...and I go to her for mental coping plans and other psychological advice since she went to school for that for years.

Honestly, thank you for the assurance. It’s nice to hear someone besides my boyfriend validating that this shall past. I recently came out to my Africa parents and they are taking it really hard and personal that I have “decided” to be gay and though I did come to terms with the fact that I might be disowned by my parents before telling them, it is still hard dealing with it. But like you said talking to someone really helps and I appreciate you for sharing this.

    Well done, I applaud you.
Not only did you tell people on here your Coming Out story, but you did it in your own words. You stayed true to you. You spoke the way Your age group speaks, the words/vocabulary. You hit the key points on, if you aren't supporting yourself yet, then guard that truth about YOU. Tell others when you have the means to somewhat support You. The bit about the fluidity of sexual relations, you touched on that well too. Again, I applaud you. (by the way, as you can see. I am a middle aged man. A middle aged white man. I belong to a Support Group in Columbus Ohio, and hearing black men speak there truth is rare. So hearing you speak so well and so freely, that was refreshing. I am impressed by you. We need more men like you, to speak their truth)

I haven't dated guys either. I avoided fraternities because i didn't want to overcompensate. I've started coming out to the gay community and my parents and sibling. Most people assume I'm straight becuase I'm masculine. I would love to find something mutual since I've never been in a romantic relationship.

What an amazing story. It was so familiar to my own experience. I'm so happy the younger gays have this new freedom. It let's me know that the all of the abuse we suffered had meaning. Be free, love who you all want to love and remember your older sisters and brothers love you and have your backs. I only pray that the now ancestors we lost to the A.I.D.S epidemic can see y'all. They would be sooooo proud of this generation. God bless!!!!

My mom said the usual I love you and always will be happy and be safe. When I told my dad he didn't talk to me for three weeks except for good morning but one day he came in and said just remember you're a man first and things have been very cool with my family.

Hey, I enjoyed your coming out story, at one point in your strory you said people( still in the closet) need to find some one to talk to. That's the thing, there aren't too many people out here you can trust to talk to.

    • @tradellhawk
      @tradellhawk  4 роки тому +3

there's someone. You find trustworthy people, by being trustworthy. If you find that you can't trust the people in your life, make some changes and start building new relationships. Spend more time with family members that make you feel good. You will find someone in your life, that accepts you and you can trust. Also seeking a therapist, as just someone to vent to helps.

Thank you so much for sharing your coming out story. Your story was very captivating and in so many ways I could really relate.
Respectfully, you are the most beautiful and well articulated man ever. I’m so thankful that you survived your college experience and completed school. Thank you so much for finishing school and believing in yourself enough overcome the challenges that you had to face among your peers at school.
My graduate school program was a much better experience than my undergraduate program due to a lot of the similar issues that I had to face in which you shared.
You are most sincerely the kind of guy I wish to have in my circle. Again, thank you so much for sharing your amazing story.

Despicable how people invade others' privacy by looking at phones: ALWAYS KEEP YOUR PHONES LOCKED: it's no one's business but yours. Have we not moved on - being gay is nothing to be ashamed of and should not be an issue.

It's crazy and ashamed you got outed. No one should've took that right from you. It's your life and you have to make correct decisions for your life. Stay strong and walk in your light.

Yeah. Doing that is just bad. Bad enough it can kill the person. In some places that can be considered attempted murder.
