- FLUVAL SHAKER after 6 MONTHS Review | Is it GOOD? Does it LAST? Can it run as a Saltwater Aquarium?
In this video we take a look at my Fluval Shaker aquarium and see how it has held up after 6 months of running a saltwater system. I feel it has had A typical problems and thus far has stood upto thme really well. There are a few niggles with it, however most aquariums have these sorts of things. Overall i am really enjoying the Fluval Shaker aquarium and think it's GREAT!

Proper good review this, especially when it comes to the feet after an accidental flood, great info! 👌
Thanks. Those feet have saved me many times already
Thanks for posting the update, found it really informative and just what I was looking for. I am considering getting the 168 version as I don’t have room for anything bigger 😞I also have a Oase biomaster thermo 350 and was wondering if I could use it on the tank instead of the flu all that comes with it ? Many thanks in advance and keep up the great work 👍🏻
You can run the cables inside the pelmet. It's designed to have just enough space. Must be really annoying if you have to remove them each time you take it off.
Can't wait to see this tank in 6 months!
Will be worth all the effort you've put in!
😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you. Im hoping it will look great
Very good info
For the door to close try releasing the hinges screw and pulling the door off the cabinet a couple of mm. Door is Probably binding on the cabinet
Tank setup looks great too 👌
Thank you 👍

Good review mate. Can you not adjust those hinges so the door on the left shuts again?
Thanks! 😊 yeah probably I'll have a closer look. I'm not sure if it's catching or just the soft close won't fully close
Great update. Mine is 10 months in :) and have the 407 with UV and 3.0 light. I also put a DD auto too off too.
How many fish have you got in this tank? I currently have 5 chromis, 2 clowns, fire fish, yellow watchman and 2 antheas :) how many more could I get away with. I do a 50 litre water change every week so think I could over stock a bit lol
Thanks, nice upgrades. 2 x chromis, 2 x Anthias, 2 x black clownfish, 2 x bangaii cardinal, 1 x mandarin, 1 x Tomini tang, 1 x Lamark angel, 1 x silver belly wrasse, 1 x midas blenny.
Too many fish but it's connected to another 600L of water and more filtration so it works ok
Number one with macroalgae 👍.
Thanks 😁
I have exactly the same tank and my left door also doesn’t close properly! How weird I got it today it’s set up ready..
Wish it would have come with a Fluval 407 canister instead of a 307. I run a 307 on my 30 gallon. Would recommend additional filtration for a 66 gallon.
How does that press board cabinet hold up with so much weight?
Hi mate just to mention I think you put the helmet upside down if you turn into other way that as well going fine from behind but the Hammett would be higher than
Just for reference you can actually fit an FX filter inside the cabinet. I have an FX6 inside mine you just have to turn it a bit and saw off the smaller sections of the hose tails to not restrict flow Fluval told me to saw them via email.
Fluval told me fx4 and 6 won't fit. I really want one😢
@@user-cd6pk1ox9r it does fit… I have an FX6 under mine
Hi any chance of a pic of your fx6 inside the cabinet@anthonybatchelor3468
Would a FX6 fit in a 345L shaker cabinet?
Can you link where I can buy this.
400 litre version of this coming out soon apparently :) tempting lol
That’s what brought me to this vid
Anyone know if you can buy another cable management clip that comes with this tank? Would be really helpful
I finally added Macros to my tank!
It's a bunch of Caulerpa Serrulata.
Though I already have a problem after only 6 days I already have a problem.
The tip of all the algaes turn white.
Only the tips and with white I mean litteraly white, not a single puce becomes transparent like when they go sexual, it's more like a plastic toy losing color.
Also this problem auto fixes at noon, I don't know why, but around noon all of the algaes (except for the bigger bush) return like normal and then at dawn they turn pale again.
Also the white part doesn't grow day by day, even for the big one that is always white.
Sooooo, what's happening?
What do I have to do?
I have seen caulerpa goes white during low light periods so maybe do your lights ramp up and down and it's adjusting to the light levels
I have the 44gal shaker now. I am thinking about getting the 66gal Shaker as well. Do you think it would be a good Cichlid tank? or should I consider going bigger..like a 75 gal tank ? Thanks
I would upgrade the filter but you could keep cichlids
FX6 fits in the cabinet btw I’ve got one set up on my shaker :)
Did you cut the smaller section of the hose tails off? Fluval told me to do this to stop flow being restricted.
Do you have the 252l or the bigger version? And dose it really fit?
I think hair algae looks nice sometimes, not when its taking over though 8:28
I added a fluval marine 3.0 into my aquarium and just noticed it has condensation buildup in the unit. It supposed to be ip67 rated. How is your light unit working? Do you think this is happening because the light unit under the hood/flaps and not outside like other aquariums. Thanks
That shouldn't happen take it back
Unfortunately this tank is not available here in Australia, I really want one 🥺
That's a shame
Can I fit an fx6 in this tank
