Thanks again - I already was happy with my settings in the past but needed a little refresher on the settings and our settings are almost identical. I was always freaked out by other tutorials that left that rightmost slider at 0 at all costs. But it always clipped that way. -9 is perfect for me there.
Hi Brodie, I was surprised to see you had this channel, I enjoy watching your sports-related channel very much. To my question, I have the same set up that you have. An RE20 and a 286S. My audio console is an Arrakis ARC10 radio console. (I'm setting up a new Internet Radio station) I see that you have plenty of headroom on both your input and output settings on you 286S. I have to have my Input level at 100% and the Output level at the lowest setting to be close to a good sound. But then the level on the fader on my audio console is hot. Any ideas about how to attack this? Thanks!
@HomeStudioPro Yes, absolutely true. Back when Orban and DBX shared some R&D. Bob Orban posted that himself on a forum I once belonged to. Yes, first officer on the B57 for about 3 years. On B37 prior.
Great video, thanks for sharing! I have a dbx286s as well as a behringer UV1. have you ever used a UV1? very similar design along with an on & off button!!!!
Hey, awesome and extremely detailed video Apologies for commenting so long after this was published, but I was thinking about getting and using a RE20 on my desktop computer & was wondering what the best setup would be to use in order for that to work. I mainly question what interface to pair with the 286S (if any at all) and what other cords, cables, or connectors I'd need to hook everything up. I'm new to all this audio stuff, but very eager to learn and figure out what works best for my intents and purposes
I have one important question can I pair this db with the io24 or focusrite 3 gen?and the you have tutorial how to use preamp?and is posible to pair this ome with go xlr
Good overview. I just bought a used dbx 286s and can't wait to set that bad boy up!
Hope you enjoy it!
@@HomeStudioPro Thanks. I'm going to be using it for two pre-recorded radio shows, so hopefully it'll be a nice addition to the studio.
This is my new setup. RE20+DBX286s. This video is very helpful.

The DBX286 is so underrated. It was designed by Bob Orban, who has designed some of the best broadcast processors ever.
Is that true? Amazing if so. Didn’t know that. Also do you fly 75’S still?

This was a great help, but do you have a similar video for Voicemeeter Potato (virtual board with compressor and gate).

What would the RE27 ND be like as a baseline? Any suggested changes from the RE20?
Can you do this with the Lauten Audio LS-208?
if i could get my hands on one, sure!
