Thx for the breakdown. Just got it in the mail, I actually thought the enhancer section was basic EQ so, thanks for the clearing that up. This video also does a great job of showing the before and after. Ur voice was definitely enhanced with minor tweaks in the effects section. Using it for the 1st time this weekend with an SSL 2+ (interface) & a Rode NT1A (condenser mic). I was worried about actually using effects on the vocal going into my DAW but the polish on that vocal displayed, how could I not? Excited (i'm a vocalist, FYI, not a streamer or podcaster)
So glad I could help! It's a unique little unit, but I still love it. Old school engineers still use analogue gear to track to the DAW. It's nice to have a pro-sounding vocal from the get go :)
Many special tweaks needed for short-time voiceovers , and missing minus range for hi/lo EQ....so I stashed the 286s for a while. It roared back into relevance as the preamp for the super-jumpy-gain AudioBox-Go interface. It does save a ton of work for pro-sounding long-form audio / streaming.
Hello @Eric Hanson I had to come back to this video to reach you. I have a question. I have a hard time finding a double TRS to connect the Focusrite. Is it going to work if I use 2 separate TRS to TRS cables?
Fun fact: many ovens are the right size to be compatible with rack mount devices. If you were designing your own device like this, would you put each section in the order it comes in or would you move any of them around? Nice job as always!
Ovens?? I had no idea! But that sounds like a tiny oven. And yes actually I would probably put the gate earlier in the chain. Some channel strips will let you rearrange the signal flow.
