Great video! I own both and honestly my voice sounds the best processed and unprocessed with the 103. Both are amazing but the 103 is the winner in my house. 🤘🏼

Excellent video. I am also a voice actor, and I use the 80 ohm for the exact reasons that you described. It is the truest flattest response and if you have to go back and correct what your recording will you need to monitor without any additional sweetening, they are the benchmark. They keep you honest! They also work very well for use with musical instruments and related devices so you can hear the pure signal out of your device. I use them with BOSS Katana Go, Katana Artist Mk II Amplifiers and the BOSS ME-90 and the sound is excellent.

Would a noise gate be an option?

Hi Brodie, when I try to replicate this signal chain, I get an error message saying ,"One or more UAD plug-ins are disabled because the DSP resources were exceeded." If I turn off the 1176 then the error goes away. I can't run them all together like you do in this video. Do you know why this is happening?

oh my goodness! This is the best explanation I've seen thus far for how to setup the dbx with the Shure sm7db -- I know you're using the sm7b (which I just sold). I'm a newbie to understanding audio and you've made this topic understandable. I'll check out your other videos as I'm on a mission to learn how to have the best audio for my content.

I have NOT had a good experience with this device smoothly playing back recorded 4K .MOV camcorder content. The video stutters horribly / choppy audio.
