Was 12 when this song came out…I’m 32 now with decades of mistakes and triumphs…this song just hits different now…I’m so thankful for my life
I was 13 when I first heard this one, I am 31 now and this song hits me with sure joy and bittersweet memories but I have been able to transform the memories into ones I can enjoy. What a beautiful song.

The bridge version gave me goose bumps. Jon Foreman is very passionate with his performance and song writing. Saw them perform once in the Philippines and I watched in awe.
To those who say that he is high, drunk, or whatever, he is simply singing these songs with great passion and belief that it seems as though he is under the influence. Its something we don't see a lot these days.

The first time I heard this song was at The State Fair of Texas when I was 16 just walking around. That was back in 2003. I have always had a cosmic connection with this song.
I used to cover this and put my heart and soul into it, nobody cared cause nobody knew the song. I didn't care.
I just love how much it builds up right before the last chorus! Goosebumps every time!
So mad I just discovered this song and this band. Heard it when I was in a tough spot and I challenged the dare and made a move. Now I'm so much happier!

Those delayed and advanced vocals really put something new to the song. This is my favorite live record. I guess it's with my taste of music.
...the tension is here... no doubt!!!!!. caught in the in- between of what we SAY we believe in and actually seeing it. that's what Switchfoot convey's in a lot of their songs in my opinion. great version here for sure. keep preachin' it guys!!.
Can't say I'm a huge fan of this band but I will say, they sound incredible live. Who wouldn't mind hearing this band live? No one!
Switchfoot is in both markets. Dark Horses was #9 on modern rock charts! They want everyone to listen, not just Christians. For a while between 2004 and 2010, they weren't playing Christian festivals, doing interviews for Christian magazines, and didn't have a Christian record label. They haven't had a Christian label since 2003. If you look at their lyrics, it has themes everyone can relate to. They didn't want to get pegged in some sort of Christian box that would turn people off towards them.
Im no audiophile and dont know much bout mixing but most of the bands that i loved had their best sessions (to me) at guitar center sessions...switchfoot/311/coheed the list goes on

Actually, Jon Foreman (frontman) has been very clear on this point in several interviews. Switchfoot is NOT to be considered as a Christian band. Yes, they are all Christian's, but they do not want their music to be limited to such a narrow demographic. They want their music to touch people of all faiths and I think they do a pretty good job of it.
