After the last two years at Oroville being so bad, I didn't ever buy permits

Just a suggestion, ya might wanna let your main idle a minute after a run so it can cool off a bit before shuttin down. It'll add some life.

It definitely can very, but i had a rod every 5ft from 30ft to 45ft

Those are old rod by a company that out of business

Here's a wonderful recipe for that nice rainbow....cut into steaks bout one inch
REAL BUTTER...soften cube one teaspoon of basil, two teaspoons of parsley one clove of garlic finely minced...mix ingredients together and spread onto steaks and drizzle with honey...
Broil fish close to flame about 7 minutes just when the steaks start to butterfly open( pull away from the bone) DO NOT OVERCOOK!
serve with asparagus and real scalloped potatoes and rice medley...black cherry ice cream for desert!

If you drive back to Poe Dam via hwy 70 Big Bend Road and use car top boat and go to where the dam dumps into the lake in springtime...I've caught 10 pound Rainbow Trout there and seen bigger! In spring they try to jump up that water dumping into the lake!
Been going back there for 30 years now ...I'm as old as Oroville dam ...My Aunt used to own the Casa Vieja restaurant on Huntioon st I used to catch crawdads for Mary Reniff Perry's Mother when I was a youngster back when the low flow used to run warm in the 70s before the lake was full.
Believe it or not I bring a 100 foot rope when I go back to Poe Dam and tie off on the rebar and repel down the dam like Batman and Robin.ane I stand on the footing... there's HUGE trout back there and 10 lb Small mouth! Little landlocked kings make the Small mouth come out when you reel them in over that footing when the water level is right! I've just seen them take my Salmon never landed one but I'm not kidding!
What color and configuration are those 8” Pro Troll Flashers?
I just buy whatever 8" chartreuse i can find but other colors work too like a 50/50 chrome and green, white, chrome etc.
How fish can you keep
The limit is 5 kings and 5 trout each
