I've used both Power Homeschool and the Acellus Academy. Overall it's a great program. For parents that want to homeschool and are afraid to dive in blind, this would be great. I used the program when I had to care for my Mom on hospice for a year and again when my husband passed away. Life was just too busy for me to homeschool and my children needed something they could do independently. They enjoyed the teachers and the short video lessons. Now with that being said, I feel there is a bit of a gap in the reading and it can be hard on struggling readers. There is little to no writing and this is one of the reasons I cancelled the program. I feel children learn so much better and fast with good old fashioned pencil and paper. (At least this has been my experience homeschooling 7 children over the span of 24 years)
The Acellus Academy can be pricey close to $300 a month per student for a fully accredited program. They do offer a scholarship for the Acellus Academy which lowers the cost to $78 a month. All you need to do for the scholarship is to have your student watch one science video a week and log in. Pretty simple. Your review was true to what the program is like.

Hello , I have a question. You said that the school cost you 300 a month per student but the website says that is only costs 31 and some change. What am I missing?

Um, I believe I said that it was $25 a month but it might have gone up on online since the review. I am sorry if there was any confusion.

The commentor above said that Acellus Academy (not Power Homeschool) can cost close to $300/month/student. The creator of this video @LearningLifeMB did say that Power Homeschool is about $25/month/student. It is actually currently $31.25/mo unless you do the Roger Billings Scholarship opportunity, which would make in $19.95/mo instead, which seems like a very worthwhile opportunity.

My family decided that Acellus Academy version was the best for my high functioning special needs son. We are 2 weeks in and it has been a blessing. Power homeschool uses the same curriculum and is cheaper if you don’t need the benefits of enrollment, transcripts and an accredited HS diploma.
