That set up to the guard pull was really well executed. The first overhook being used to block the hips, create distance, and then snap! Just when he thought he was in the safe zone because the pace was slowed and he has the opportunity for double unders, Couch jumps to closed guard. Exactly where you want JRod… on the fence and contained. Clearly the better athlete by design, but if he can’t move then the technique takes over on Couch’s end. Great way to set the pace for other athletes down the line!

Fun to see guys really develop their game. I feel like both Rodriguez brothers rely on athleticism and speed instead of technique and it shows when they meet true tacticians. JRod was just straight outmatched and always reacting instead of trying to play his game and dictate.
