Thank you. The video was much more helpful than the written instructions!

Saw one issue in this video. Make sure to loop your copper clockwise around the screw terminals, so that when you tighten the screws your connections become tighter.

In what minute of the video did you see that, to do it when I install it

@@luiszubiaga1 it was not mentioned in the video. It's just general Electrical code knowledge. Safer as well.

While watching this video I noticed that the receptacle on the upper box is being installed upside down (usually the ground plug is on the bottom of the receptacle). I took mine out of the box and looked at the video and realized she was installing it that way because the AV cable chute points down in that orientation which would make sense. Also, as I looked at the bottom plug I noticed that the prongs are oriented so that they also have the ground prong on the top and the orientation of the AV cable chute is pointing upwards, which again would be logical since the cables are coming from above. In my opinion, both of these "plates" have their receptacle or straight blade inlet installed UPSIDE DOWN! There are two screws that hold each one on and it doesn't look like there will be any problem if you just disassemble them and then reassemble with them oriented in the opposite direction. I realize that these orientations don't really matter in terms of functionality of the device but being a detail person it would drive me crazy not to make this simple fix. (NOTE: I went ahead and opened the bags that the wall plates are in and gave this a try. The straight blade inlet won't come out of the wall plate but I was able to spin it and reorient it with the ground down. I don't see any reason this will be a problem. However, when you reorient the receptacle, the brass screw is somewhat obstructed by the AV cable chute on the plate. I'm certain that's why they put it in upside down, to overcome that obstacle in the way of making a tight electrical connection to the black wire. In spite of this, there's no reason why you can't remove the receptacle from the wall plate, make the connections to it and then reattach it to the wall plate with all the wires properly connected. So, in other words, the reason the receptacle is upside down is that they are compensating for the poor design of their parts). Also, as someone else noted, DO NOT put the electrical wires on counter-clockwise the way this lady does in the video. They should be put on clockwise so that when the screw is tightened it will draw the loop in the wire tighter. Generally, this device seems pretty well made and it is a lot cheaper than the "other" brand. The extension cord is really heavy duty. I'll have to see how it holds up.

I installed mine and checked it with an outlet tester. Do I need an electrician to look at it as well?

how many wires can fit through that receptacle? i need 4 hdmi, a coax, a cat5 and a optical cable...will it all fit through? can i dremel the back to make a wider opening?

At that point, you're better off getting an AV receiver and plugging your 4 HDMI and 1 coax into that, then running 1 HDMI from the AVR and the Ethernet to your TV.

Your video shows the bottom receptacle with the power on the right and top receptacle with power on the left, but the written instructions have the power on the left for both receptacles. Which is the correct install method?

It really doesn’t matter which way. Both will accomplish the goal.

What if I did all of this step by step and when I plug in my TV nothing happened? What do I do now?

I just ordered this and haven’t gotten it yet, but I’d
      1) make sure the outlet you plug the extension cable actually supplies power (and make sure the extension cable this came with actually works, you can try a different outlet)
      2) make sure your connections are solid on the top and bottom outlets you installed (as well as making sure the wires are in the correct spot)
      3) make sure on the connections you used the wire nuts on are solid/secured
And i guess make sure whatever tv you’re using is still working (with another outlet)

@@ovm_catalyst The issue I was running into funny enough was that the power button on my new 65" samsung TV is touchy. 🙄 Drove an hour to get a new extension only to find this out after but the TV remote turns it on just fine lol. I'm happy with the product
