for remote check the frequency if 314 or 434 mhz
if you are in US most of the time is 315mhz. European cars always have 434MHZ
Thanks for the great video! I followed the steps outlined in the video on a 2015 Jetta push to start using an Autel IM508 to add a key. I generated an Xhorse prox key (XSKFF1EN 3 button flip key with proximity sensor) to use as the spare. In the first attempt, I created a dealer key with the Xhorse prox key, then learned both keys to the car in the last step of add a key (I picked "2" from the drop down menu when it asked me how many keys I wanted to learn). After putting the second key up to sensing area on the steering column for two seconds and pressing OK, I got a message that there was a sensing problem with the 2nd key (the Xhorse key) and key learning failed. However, I tried both keys and the original key no longer worked (no remote function and the car didn't recognize it) but the 2nd key (Xhorse) DID work. All functions - remote and prox. I started the process all over but the car would not go into programming mode (probably because it was already in programming mode). I backed out and reset the instrument cluster and tried again to add a key. Got all the way through the process as in the first attempt (although this time I did not create a dealer key as both the original key and the Xhorse key were already precoded) and got the same "sensing" error as in the first attempt. This time however, no keys would work. Also, the IMMO system showed "0" keys and I could not turn power on with either key. Ended up having to call a locksmith friend I know so he could use VVDI Prog and VVDI2 to fix the instrument cluster and add the two keys - which he did with no problems other than the hassle of taking out the instrument panel and putting it back in. Just wanted to share this story in case somebody else experiences it. There was nothing I could do with the Autel via OBD to fix the problem and I don't have all the XP400 programmer tools (including virgin VAG EEPROM files) to fix the cluster on the bench. I'm sure others have used the Autel with the XP400 programmer to do this, just not me. Anyway, thanks again for a great video.
thanks a lot for watching, and for the informative share in your comment.
to make a dealer key is only for the blank key no need to make the dealer key for the original is already dealer
the tool automatically choses the programming
Thanks for the video man, this was a great help. I havent had a chance to do many VWs and the autel coverage page is so vague on which ones you can do.
yea this tool is really amazing and easy to use. u can do many models almost 90% of cars
Would I use the same remote as I would on an igntion switch or is there a different kind? Does it need to say something like PEPS when I purchase the key.?
AKL? Nope it was not all keys lost since you used the original, already programed key to turn on the ignition.
Because when you tried first it failed to read the immo data.
You need to change the title to "ADD KEY".
yea you right i already changed it, but this tool can do all keys lost it is a really good tool almost for any car.
have you had any problems for when it comes to remove the cluster to program keys? do you use easyboot or anything else? At this moment I am trying to learn everything about VWs with cluster related.
when u remove the cluster is for all keys lost and I have never had any issue just make sure u do a backup up always in case something messes up
@@JVFIXLLCif you have an opportunity to do a Vw with the cluster removal, backup and programming will be awesome and greatly appreciate it. Looking really forward to it.
muy buen video gracias.el autel puede read immo data sin pagar?
si gracias. si el autel puede hacer muchos carros aun sin pagar la membrecia tengo 3 scanner de estos y estan muy buenos 100 veces mejor que snap on.
Do you know how to fix water damage to key? I dropped my Passat 2014 Key in water. Changed the battery to the key. It blinks when I press it. But it’s not connected to the car. I can drive the car when I put the key near the keyless ignition. I don’t have the machine you have
I would try this first to open the key completely and see if u find like white or blue corrosion and clean it with alcohol
I have a 2016 vw jetta push to start. Why is it so expensive to program key all places I’ve called want $400.00 and up
I don't know I charged 250 for this one, and I went to their house
Where you at so you can come do mine
Can this method be used for a 2021 VW Passat?
I haven't tried it but I believe the procedure will be very similar.
Thanks so much for your wonderful video. but when it comes to this keys u have to learn the remote separately. so try that. you can add remote or learn remote. the best is to learn remote because they dont always get the remote automatically programmed together so it need to be done separately.
yea the customer got the wrong frequency key fobs that's why the remote could not work. and you are right some of these fobs can be programmed separately
Can you do it with the im508 too and all lost keys
yea I believe u can do it but u will need the xp400 programer too
im608 pro and xp400 pro wasn’t capable of programming for vw audi and Porsche
I tried 2011 Porsche Cayenne failed
2007 Audi Q7 failed
2018 vw gti failed
Any scanner recommendations for these systems
that's odd i already did a 2011 Porsche cayenne and also this VW this tool is capable of a lot .
@@JVFIXLLC if you still have video how you did Porsche please post
If I'm not going to make a dealer key, do I not need XP400?
u will need the xp400 even uf u r not making a dealer key. u need it to read the info of the key.
Does this still work? I thought vw wasn’t possible without eeprom work anymore?
eeprom is only if all keys lost u need to remove cluster for that but if u add is possible by obd2
@@JVFIXLLC cool thanks, where do you get your keys from? I’ve only been ordering from vw directly and programming with Odis but being able to program with my im508 would save me a lot of money
@@JVFIXLLC can you explain the process please I have a 10 jetta all key lost
You can't do all keys lost like this because you wont be able to turn the ignition on to read immo.
yes u r right for all keys lost u need to remove the cluster
@@JVFIXLLC yea and clamp on eeprom or remove it
On 2017-18 Passat as well??
@@segounlocks5029so it can
So this means you can NOT do this yourself at home unless you have an expensive scanner and programmer💪🏼
or going to the dealership, lol. cars nowadays will get harder and more difficult to work on because manufacturers want you to take it to the dealership for more money
I mean, duh.
Not possible via OBD anymore
only add by obd if u have all keys lost cluster must be disassembled and in bench mode
Apenas estas aprendiendo?
uno nunca deja de aprender en este oficio siempre hay algo nuevo y si este fue el primer vw que he en mucho tiempo. el autel im608 es una herramienta muy ponente sabiendola usar bien
so this wasn't really an AKL procedure?
no no all keys lost but the procedure is the same this tool can do all keys lost. highly recommend it of you work on cars or locksmith
On some the akl procedure is similar. On others you must do eeprom programming
@@davidantonenko4446 yea for the all keys 🔑 lost procedure you have to disassemble the instrument cluster to program new key
Do you have to use xp400? Can we just use xp200?
i haven't used xp200 but you can give it a try.
what you charge for this programing
I charged 150 for this job.
You charge way to low
yea I charge low so people recommend me.
I feel you but 150 for a vw job at least 250 and you're still super low at that
@@JVFIXLLC Then someone will be doing this for $120. Then you drop price to $100, someone will be crazy enough to do it for $80... That's how this business was f**ked in area where I live. Now any 9 to 5 job pays better then Locksmith business.
a strange, very strange approach to your business .... first you had to check the frequency of the key, and then program ...
u right I always check the frequency first too.
