Showing off the character creation made this an instant purchase for me! Not sure I can get any pals to play it, but I'm super interested in learning more of the Infinity lore.
I love Infinity, it took me a while to enter it (Although I have Dune, Conan, Mutant Chronicles, Fallout) but strangely this game has create its own nice : the perfect balance between action, social and tech, politics but more than anything else it's neither too dark (like in Eclipse phase or Shadowrun) or too bright. I am playing a pure solo campaign with it and playing a Haqqislam (but not Haqqislam looking) female cyber ninja. Also the implants/augmentations in Infinity are really powerful (+4 in one attribute or +1 in each attribute) and the 2D20 mechanic + heat/momentum is perfect for triple conflict layer.
Looks pretty good. The 2d20 system is fine but a Infinity RPG would of run fine with just a modified version of the tabletop wargame rules. It's a really detailed yet straightforward ruleset.
Was super surprised to find you as the #1 result for infinity RPG review. I thought you did mostly fantasy stuff. Out of curiosity, do you make anything in the cyberpunk sphere?
I wrote a cyberpunk trilogy about esports a few years ago: BLUESCREEN, ONES AND ZEROES, and ACTIVE MEMORY. I'm also putting together a cyberpunk anthology that's a little more infinity-ish, but the pandemic has slowed us down a lot and I don't know when it will be out.
Don't know your extent of Infinity lore but you kind of got ariadna wrong the biggest inconsistency would be the werewolf there was an indigenous species that had a wolf-like characteristics and some women that were attacked that survived and then got pregnant gave birth to what they would call dog faces there is no genetic alteration or manipulation through the ariadne faction they just saw used for it and used it there's 3 to 4 distinct types you have the antipode, dog faces, then there's the ones that can transform between human and a werewolf like form and then there's one that pretty much stays in a werewolf form but has all human capability of cognitive thought but I believe ariadna kind of convince them all into two group.
I've read a bit the quickstart rules after this video and, while I love the setting (I've been playing the miniature game since 2015) and I find very interesting the heat/momentum mechanic, I've found the system a bit too cumbersome, not to mention that monetary system and ranges made me lift an eyebrow. As for the life path system, it looks fun and quick, but seems to take away the pc's creation from the hands of the player and put it in the hands of fate (unless you skip the dice rolls and decide by yourself). I think I should watch a session to decide if the game is worth taking.
Long video :) But does it do justice to the miniatures game? Because I'm not a fan of the RPG being outsourced to this other company... Seems overly complicated on numbers rather than creating a story with your friends? Too much rolling dice for random stuff? I'm afraid with too little oversight from CB it doesn't match the wargame feeling/ universe.
It's definitely on the crunchy side of the RPG world, so if you're looking for something more minimalist this definitely isn't it. I do think it stays pretty true to the world of Infinity, though, and I happen to really love the mechanics.

They're usually better about it, but right now their programmer is on indefinite hiatus. I asked them about it in April and they say it's a priority to get everything up to date as soon as they can.
Well as a long time fan of the mini game and the rpg.. if you did not know... the Infinity minis game started as a house rpg that they played at Corvus Belli! They gave the base rule to Modiphus and they created the rpg game with the input of CB! CB has gone over every inch of the rpg before Modiphus was allowed to print...
Dan Wells Oh. I am wrong then. Had a similar problem with a vid I made for work, we thought the flashing effect was caused by the LED lighting. I guess not!
@@geekstradamus1548 No, I think the flashing is caused by the webcam's automatic light filter, adjusting the brightness on the fly. I can't figure out how to turn it of, though, so I just have to be super careful with my lighting so the webcam doesn't try to do it for me
think of each faction strictly controlling their populations into beleiving: what we say is right everyone else is evil kind of like how yu yuing uses prisoners of war as suicide bombers and castrates captured men, ariadna has that american russian worldview on things, pan-o are hyper-religious to the point of having actual templars and they're on a crusade to unify the human sphere, aleph is just big evil amazon AI, EI is the true goodguy with a schewed view because total control brings peace and order but to do that you need to commit warcrime at such a scale that you override human nature, tohaa are strictly forbidden from counting to 4 they do everything in 3s and i mean everything, haqqislam do alot of medical experiments on prisoners whilst being religious, nomads they just wanna vibe but tunguska is run by big russia and corregidor by cartels so yep bakunin the wild wacky vegan friendly pvp zone is the friendliest place around
