Got this on dvd i bought the original VHS many yrs ago and put onto disc, this performance of the band recorded in late 1986 in Orange France at the old Roman Theatre is the greatest live concert you will ever see of this band. A band at their peak and their looming kiss me album in 1987 this location was dark and brooding like their sound opening portals.
We also had this on VHS. Wish we would've thought about transferring it to a disc. It's lost now along with other cure music videos on VHS that won't play on UA-cam in the states.

I caught the NA leg of this tour in San Diego, from the third row. Will never forget that experience, and the video of this has always been a fabulous memento. A magical period-the band was at the height of their powers. Couldn’t possibly be more brilliant.
I’m so thankful to still see this footage making the rounds. I was a little nine year old fuck when I discovered The Cure and I watched this VHS tape damn near everyday in the summer of 1990. Thanks for posting!
I love watching this concert, the energy of the crowd. Ppl slam dancing to the Cure ppl enjoying themselves and not singing . I hate concerts now the crowd is louder than the band. Why won’t they release this on cd or iTunes. And I’d love it on dvd
Thank you for posting this. Chills all over the place, honestly. It's been over 30 years since I've seen, heard, felt this - Orange affected me. This is sooooooo good!!
This show might have the best version of 'Primary' ever recorded by the band. Some of those muted harmonics Robert throws around in the main riffs are just simply angelic.
@@asbocazbo I used to staunchly believe that song was either all bass or bust, and anything else was blasphemy. Give me your eyes
That I might see the blind man kissing my hands
The sun is humming
My head turns to dust as he plays on his knees
As he plays on his knees
And the sand
And the sea grows
I close my eyes
Move slowly through drowning waves
Going away on a strange day
And I laugh as I drift in the wind
Blind
Dancing on a beach of stone
Cherish the faces as they wait for the end
Sudden hush across the water
And we're here again
And the sand
And the sea grows
I close my eyes
Move slowly through drowning waves
Going away
On a strange day
My head falls back
And the walls crash down
And the sky
And the impossible
Explode
Held for one moment I remember a song
An impression of sound
Then everything is gone
Forever
A strange day

Had this on laserdisc in 88.. My favorite live recording of all time this era of The Cure was magic!
I still remember going to see this when it first came out in 1987. I was 18 years old and The CURE music was all I thought about and listened to for a long time.
This version of The Walk is too fabulous. The banging drums are incredible, Robert sounds just like the record. J'adore +
My fav Cure concert. Everything perfect about it. Even Bob's hair.
Bristish rock and pop from de 80' till today are the best music ever!
One of their best performances if not the best. A Forest is just out of this world...
Changed the way i heard music forever........ This concert lives in a pocket in my heart xxx
This show might have the best version of 'Primary' ever recorded by the band. Some of those muted harmonics Robert throws around in the main riffs are just simply angelic.
The hills are aliiiiive 🤩
@@asbocazbo I used to staunchly believe that song was either all bass or bust, and anything else was blasphemy. Then I heard the version from this show at some point and it completely had me reevaluating my shit. Quite honestly, it's almost hard for me sometimes to even go back to the studio cut.
Almost.
Thank you so much for posting this! I saw them the first and last time summer 1987 on their Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me tour at the Forum in Los Angeles. I was just shy of turning 16 years old. I really hope to see them again. I love them so much. Such a big part of my teenage years and still to this day. So many good memories
Impresionante concierto buenos recuerdos veinte años tenía cuándo los vi en vivo🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Eu tinha 22 anos 🇧🇷
This, and live in Paris 2000, has to be the best Cure shows ever recorded!
The Cure was enormous in France, much more diehard fans there than in britain in the 80s.
Oui ma puce !
They never gave up the 80s. Love it
