Gorgeous colors! If you spritz the back of your paper that will help a little bit with the bowing. Fab cards, I think I'll have to give this stuff a try! tfs
Beautiful cards Sandi! I just bought a couple of sets of Lindy’s magical powders and need to learn how to use them. Lots of practice I see. I love those stamps too.
Hi Sandi! Just wondering if you can put your watercolor paper on the sticky mat before using the powders and water. Might stop the curling. Just wondering because that always drive me nuts. Loved those stamps and the gorgeous cards you made with them! Tfs!
Sandi-- I just received 2 sets of the Lindy's magical powders that I ordered from SSS after watching your video. These cards are stunning. I'm going to try using the powders over this weekend to make some Christmas cards. I know my cards will be nowhere your level, but I wanted to thank you for always sharing your talents. It encourages me to try new things and be creative !! You are amazing !!
woo hoo Elizabeth you are going to have a fabulously fun weekend playing. make sure you cut lots of paper before you start because it's totally addictive. And thank you my sweet friend for your kind words. I love to share and I'm so glad you are enjoying the journey with me
Really enjoyed the video and have just subscribed to your channel! I love watercolor, mixed media, card making, adult coloring and diamond painting. I have tried numerous times to use my Tim Holtz glass mat and I just can't get comfortable with it and always go back to my non-stick craft mat or my silicon mat. I'm intrigued by this new white glass mat (I would get the bigger size like yours). The price point is high, so if I am having trouble with Tim's mat, do you think I will have trouble with this one too? Any thoughts?
thank you Dollie, I'm so happy you found me. I love my new white glass mat for many reasons but mostly that I can see if there is ink on it. I have wrecked so many cards by placing them down on a dirty spot, LOL. Send me an email at sandimaciver@gmail.com and tell me what issues you are having with your mat, and I'll try and help you out. I do realize it is an investment, but so worth having when they work for you
Hi Suzie, If you go to the link for my blog post, there is a list at the end of the post and it's the last item. UA-cam limits how many items I can link in the description.
Two of my favourite brands; Lindy's and Visible Image. I love your backgrounds, but I was crying at all the product wasted on paper towel!!! I mop up every single drop with spare paper/cardstock to avoid any waste - which is important as the full complement of Lindy's products is not that easy to find here in the UK and the shipping cost from the US is no longer viable. TFS 🙂
I agree, I love both brands. I used to pick up every single drop, but, I have been doing this for 20 years now, and I have no place to store all those card fronts, LOL. Who knows, maybe one day I'll make a card with those paper towels, LOL
Magenta in Canada sells powders like these. I forget the name. Maybe shipping wouldn't be so bad since you are both British. Or maybe not? Worth checking out? Other companies sell rhese powders so maybe you could compare prices. I am thinking maybe mist the powders instead of spraying and using a regular brush rather than a fan brush might use up less powder. Good luck
@@bethbenson1931 Yes, many companies sell these powders under different names. i specifically wanted to try Lindy's due to their unique color combinations. Also, misting and spraying get you two totally different effects and I was doing that on purpose and I love using lots of the powder to get the more vivid colors
Great cards…so fun!!!
thank you Sam

Stunning cards ❤❤ Love, love, love the butterfly!
thank you Terry
Love these magical cards Sandi!!
thank you Kathy
Gorgeous! Just an idea - if you spritz both sides of the w/c paper with water, it'll be flatter and easier to work with. :)
yep, I knew that, but I didn't do it, haha
Beautiful cards!
thank you Margarita
Loved loved loved how both cards turned out ✌🏽
thanks so much Christine

What beautiful cards!! can you tell me where the gems for the butterfly body are purchased from?
Thank you, probably Simon Says Stamp I do most of my purchases through them
I’ve found that wetting the backside of the CS before spraying the top side keeps it laying flatter while working on it.
that usually works for me too, but not with this stuff, it's too thick, LOL. I'll just tape it down next time

That’s amazing how you cut out those antennae so carefully. Those powders are really great and I heard about them in a comment on another artist
Thanks Robin, they are totally amazing to play with
Do you need to use a fixative with these powders?
I have not found it necessary to, but when I do, I just spray it lightly with a cheap hair spray, works fabulously
Sandy, I don't see the link to your glass craft mat - thanks!
Me either?
