    Amazing tipsss!!! Love this👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.. My question is before we can book the clients first how can we get them? What should we do if we are starting out with no initial clients ? What would you recommend

    • @BashBesties

      Thanks for watching! 💕 I always recommend styled shoots to build your portfolio and volunteering for family, friends, or non profit events so you can use the pictures and get some reviews.
      Also, experiment with advertising. Use social media, Google, Yelp, and in person events.
      While you’re waiting on your first clients that’s a good time to practice your craft and work on things like your website, your packages…those things take time!
      If you are just getting started, I would definitely recommend taking the course. It’ll guide you through the steps you need to take to brand your biz, launch, and be ready to take on your first clients! 💕

    I plan all my parties and I even planned my own wedding and it was so beautiful. I am now thinking of decor, food, drinks and cake for my stepson and his wife’s baby shower. Everyone loves the way I design and organize all my parties and I’ve had people tell me I should be a party/wedding planner. Soooo… I’ve thought of the pros and cons of it for the past 6 yrs. The reason it’s taking so long for me to start it is I’m afraid to fail.

    • @BashBesties

      That’s awesome! You’re a natural 😊 In my opinion, the universe is telling you to take a leap of faith. One of my favorite sayings is “But what if I fall?…Oh but darling what if you fly?” You’ll most certainly fail if you never start. 💕

    How much should your deposit be? Is that just based on what they are requesting and how many people will be there and how do you usually charge them? I’m trying to get into event planning so I’m trying to make sure I don’t over or uncharge people.❤

    With respect, I feel this is more about negotiation (and how to avoid bad clients). How is the potential client finding out about me, to begin with? Please and Thanks.

    • @BashBesties
      @BashBesties  Рік тому +1

      Yes, once the client has found you, then this sequence will begin. You’ll attract clients by way of marketing. That could be in many different forms…posting reels on IG, passing out cards, word of mouth, Google Ads, flyers, promotional events, email lists, etc 💕

    I have a question money wise. After the clients pay their deposit, as your planning and booking etc. Is that all coming out of your pocket until after the event?

    • @BashBesties
      @BashBesties  Рік тому

      Hi Tymika,
      No, nothing should be coming out of pocket.
      If you’re charging a flat rate package with things included (other than planning) then you have to make sure you’re charging enough in the deposit/payment schedule to cover those costs. You’re not paying out of your pocket, you’re paying out of their deposit.
      If you’re charging a separate planner fee that would be totally yours (without providing anything other than the planning.) Then the client would pay your fee and each vendor invoice our of their money. You can send the invoices to the client and have them pay directly or you can get authorized to use their card to pay the vendor. They could also pay you the full amount and you can distribute the vendor payments yourself. Either way you will keep track of the over budget and how much has been paid/owed.

    Is it weird for the planner to bring their own camera to events to take for marketing purposes? Or just use cell phone? I struggle with this because Photographers take so long to get photos back. It becomes a cycle of posting old photos from past events.

    • @BashBesties
      @BashBesties  Рік тому +1

      I feel like this too often times, but only in certain instances do I care enough to only use my phone. The phone quality is a lot better than it was before so I always used my camera. Now it depends on lighting, amount of time available, etc.
      Because like you said it can take a long time for photographers to get the album back and sometimes folks don’t share photos..or don’t get the shots you needed/parts of the party you wanted highlighted.
      I remember recently I didn’t take any photos at a specific event with my camera because a client hired a “really good photographer”. When I tell you all of the photos of the party guests were great but the photos of the decor/setup were teeeeeribble and edited badly. I was like 😳
      I’d say always take your own photos as a backup, and whip out the camera if you need to! Better to feel weird for a bit than to regret not getting the shots you wanted. 😄

      @@BashBesties so true! I’m more on the planning side, but there are so many weddings that I have no photos of and I regret not having my camera. I’m going to try it and see how it works. And I hate that the photographer over edited all of your beautiful work! Thank you so much for responding to my question! :)
