Fantasy or not, the Hungarians are an anomaly in Europe. Besides the finns, who have a completely different culture and history, Hungarians are the ONLY people in traditional Europe to speak an Altaic/Uralic language. Many cultural similarities STILL exist to link them to the peoples of pagan Central Asia, especially the Bashkirs. I am GLAD that these people remember and celebrate their horse warrior ancestors. Perhaps some modern day attempts to link them to their roots are over the top, BUT science and archeaology will fill in the gaps. What is important is that their History matters TO THEM.......

Great video! You can tell these people are prideful of their ancestry. The lady narrating uses the term “Huns” a lot which I don’t know if is technically correct sense these people are of Cuman-Kipchak heritage. They’re pretty close, considering both are nomadic horsemen, but I feel Cumans have a closer tie to the Hungarians, so these traditions are very deserving of preservation in my opinion

1:25 As a Hungarian, this is not true. In fact, it teaches diversity. Ancient Hungarians rode on the steppes with the Turks, Bulgars (ancient Bulgarians), Uighirs, Mongols, Japanese, etc. At one time we all lived in the Ural-Altai region, quite possibly the most diverse place on Earth.

Turks spread from Central Asia to all over the world and mixed with the people wherever they went. He is my own brother who carries a single drop of Turk blood in his veins.
