Star Wars has ALWAYS saved it's concept art for possible later use. Hell Zeb from Rebels is designed from a SUPER EARLY Chewbacca concept, Mother Talzin from a Darth Maul Concept, the Fifth Brother from a Kylo Ren concept and there's just tons of examples.

The Year this came out end episode 1 blew everyone away with outstanding costume design, The Matrix movie won Best Costume Design Awards... Biggest scam in the history of movie making. There's no way in hell any other movie should have gotten an award for the amount of skill and Perfection that went into the costumes for Star Wars. Absolutely nothing outshined it.
