What’s up my beautiful people! After running every day for over 3 years I finally learned how to activate my glutes throughout my run (what works for me!). I was so excited that I came in from my run and did another run to share it with you guys. Huge shoutout to Sinead for helping me out with this. Remember, "if you want to go fast, go alone.. if you want to go far, go together." We can learn so much from each other if we're open to it. Let's get it, Let's go!!

The fact that he can run and talk the whole time is beyond amazing
That part is not that crazy actually, his insanely positive attitude is what is amazing to me.
If did the same thing, I would have been breathing in like thirsty dog🤣🤣🤣
I'm in a local running group and the guy who hosts it can talk completely effortlessly at 4:00/km pace. It's unbelievable.
You inspired me to start running
Now i can run 5k in 18 min
amazing!! keep up the great work!
When did you start?
@@juniorpierre7727 9 months ago
What’s your weekly running routine look like in a week?
@@user_8421 Damn. I started running my freshman year now I am a sophomore and my 5k is only a 22:38 rn. Any tips?
I normally sprint after my long runs and I've noticed that I'm less tired during my sprint than during the end of my long runs. You physically explained to me why this is so :) I love the idea of intermittent sprints to "fire-up" the glutes. It just makes so much sense now. This is truly Golden and I will incorporate this into my running routine from now on. Sprinting during a run is like a Booster Shot for correcting Running Form. During sprinting our body automatically corrects for proper Lean and Stride all the while making use of the glutes :) Thank you so much for having me realize this.
I’m currently on rest for itbs and this guy has me pumped out of my mind to get back to running. Love the excitement
Love and respect you brother from india 🇮🇳 , whenever I get depressed because of my running performance I used to watch your videos filled with full of positive vibes and motivation.
I came across your video randomly. I absolutely LOVE your ENERGY!!! This world needs more of you. (btw super impressed that you ran that fast and talked through it the whole time! it just shows how fit you are cardiovascularly.)
I greet you Hellah♥️ I am from Saudi Arabia . I love running🏃🏾♂️. I run every day because of you
Thank you 💪🏿.
Get the buns firing! great stuff Hellah 🙌🏼
Gymshark hi
Gymshark let’s go!!!
This is pure gold. Glute activation is something I've had problems with, literally, for years. I transitioned from a power athlete playing college football into an endurance athlete after I tore my ACL several years back and the fabled glute activation has plagued me ever since, causing IT band problems and hip flexor tightness that required PT, dry needling, and all that good stuff, lol. Can't wait to try this tip out tomorrow morning!
I found you last night though my recommendations on UA-cam, and it’s just what I needed! I’ve been wanting to run every day and fall in love with it for so long! I decided after watching your recap of your experience of running everyday for 3 years to take my shot at it. I bet you right now, that you just impacted and changed my life for the better. Thank you, truly ❤️
Stop I love his enthusiasm! He would be such a great trainer
I just tried this during my long run and holy shit this really works! My pace was so much faster it felt like i was flying!! My calves and quads used to bear the grunt during my runs but this time round it was a totally different story. Thanks so much for sharing this hellah!
Can you explain it to me? How long do I need to run faster? I don't get it haha
@@reneeschool9441 Hello renee. Im unable to explain it clearly with just words. However, since this video was posted, i have found another video that explains the activation of the glutes. You can find it here at ua-cam.com/video/ZrCm6UA2U1k/v-deo.html . Hope this helps!
What you're describing are strides! Runners tend to do 6-10 of these in the last part of their recovery run. They help to keep the form smooth.
It’s amazing! I wish I knew about this sooner haha. I still have so much to learn
I actually just started doing strides in recovery runs about a week or two ago. Today I was thinking to myself, "This is amazing!". Reminded me of this vid. I'll focus more on glutes.
I also started 3 days ago running everyday after so much time. I started bcoz of you. You are my inspiration.
Love u brother❤️❤️
I just recently started running after YEARS. Before my nose operation I told myself "once I'm fully healed I will start running" and now with some motivation by watching Mike Tyson getting ready to fight again, I finally started and ITS FUN. Feeling good, strong and healthier
Also I love when people talk to me while running, it's always fun
I left everything just to comment ,
What's up my beautiful people
let's go!!!
I just started running again this month after almost 1 year of not training, i felt like I had an elephant sitting on my chest on the first day running with a mask on while doing my usual pace. Thanks for the inspiration man! Run Safe! 👊🔥
Keep it up!
@@BrendanEvan Will do! Let's GOOO! 💪💪💪💪💪
Joel Embiid that’s great. But please don’t wear a mask while running there is no point of doing that
You need to breathe properly when you are running
Don't wear mask while running mate, it's dangerous.
Why the hell were you wearing a mask? 😂 no wonder
Everyone talks about glute activation like it is hard to accomplish. When you run with proper form your glutes activate. This means tight core. Upright posture. Strong back kick. Not overreaching with your step. Stiff strong legs. Open hips (push butt down and hips forward). You feel it most at faster speeds but most people run with crap form which makes other muscles compensate for glutes. Very hard to activate glute with an anterior pelvic tilt or a whimpy slouched posture.
Thanks for the advice and the explanation. I will definitely try to focus more on my glutes and my running form. 👍😀
Yess here with an anterior pelvic tilt😪😭😭😭
Well you have made a video on it and a comment, but your advice is good also
I've got an anterior pelvic tilt....
@@kumo3633 probably weak posture while walking.
The side view is extra valuable, thank you for showing the angle! I also appreciated the shift in foot landing when you slowed down (closer to heel) then speeding back up (closer to fore but midfoot). I just started running and watching technique gives me and opportunity to reference a visual when i am running!
I love this video! I'll try it on my race tomorrow. I am so excited to see how this works!
You are a great runner! I love your running form❤
Love your energy level. Made my day. Today when I run, I will keep your bright and cheerful face in my thoughts. Thanks.
the camera montion is awesome, love the positive vibes and tips. Thanks for sharing!
No clue why but my sprinting speed has literally gone from being lightning fast to a literal jog, i used to have proper strong glutes from running and now when i run they don't even flex and propel me like they used to. I've lost all of the muscle in them now even though i run 3 times a week and i have no idea what to do anymore. This all happened after being in lockdown for 2 months to be fair.
Build up slowly but surely bro, trust the process.
That could be tight hips that are keeping you from engaging your posterior muscles. Just a guess! But you could try some exercises with bands or Pilates to activate your core and glutes. Good luck!
I’ve definitely got work to do in this area. Thanks for the tips and awesome camera work!
Love this dudes energy
great vid loved the shots you got on the roads it's so relaxing
Great Video Hellah !! Keep Going bro 💪🏽😎
Dude always love your enthusiasm 🤩
Such infectious energy, happiness and positivity... 🔥

Check him out on the Strava running app ,search his nap and you will see his miles
Great video man!
Watching this video while closed up inside due to hazardous levels of wildfire smoke outside preventing me from running. Been doing cardio inside, but its just not the same as a nice cool morning run through the neighborhood :(
Man it's criminal how you don't have more subs.
Dope running form man!
Love the energy wow! I’m an amputee who just got a cheetah blade and every tip helps a ton
will try this topic. and especially your presentation full with smiles. it boost effort to try that
awesome tip! Thank you!
Thank you for this golden tip! I will do this with tomorrow's run.
How was it
Love those bright orange shoes
The enthusiasm is unmatched
very cool, Hella because you practice speed in your routine, the shots are great for developing your muscles, and your time in the 100m
👌 Love your energy brother 🙏
I will try this tomorrow morning - never heard it described like this before!
John Martin
10/17/22 - well, I tried it out this morning; I sprinted several times on aa 2 mile run, and I did sense a "burning" at the bottom of my glutes. That was something that I don't remember feeling ever before. I'm not sure it helped my speed, but as I remember the run now, at this moment, I don't recall feeling burned out or "dead legged" at any time during the run. Note, I am slow, 70 years old, 205 lbs (down from 255 five months ago), so whether 2 miles or my normal 5 miles, I normally feel sluggish, but today I did not notice it even though I did not notice miraculous speed. So for now I think it has merit - sprinting occasionally to activate glutes.
Thanks for the inspiration. Been running almost everyday lately from like once every other a month. Planning on breaking 16 min in 5k next summer.
16 min would be insane. GOOD LUCK!!
You are amazing !
Great, happy to learn a trick to engage them while running
so glad to hear that!
Thank you for the reminder. Its helped me to run faster and give my legs a tiny rest because it doesn't tax your thigh muscles as much. My whole butt hurts though but I know it's working. Glutes are under used.
Going for a run this afternoon, I cant wait to try this and see how it goes
How did it go?
Strides, that'll help hugely firing those glutes up, nice work HellaGood 👍🏃
Love it
Thanks buddy
I know my 5 tomorrow won’t be as speedy as yours but I will try it because my quads be killin me! I try running out of my hips to not overwork them but need another cue. Tks.
what a energy!!!!!!!!!!
This guy's awesome! what an attitude :)
Big respect Hellah!!!
Whats going on with your injury? Any updates?
Thanks for sharing how to fire up the glute. You are only one actually demonstrates how the flute work.
The north east of the US looks great for autumn 💥💥💥
Bon courage gros toujours motivé 🇨🇬🇨🇬
Good work! 👍💪🇮🇪
Yo Hellah can you please make a glute workout video? Sprinting sucks when you have weak glutes; trust me, I know from racing experiences.
Hello... I just came across your videos recently. Thanks for sharing. I have a question for you...I just want to start running to kick my body into top shape..... Do you do any other workouts or exercise besides running? if yes, which one and how often... I am looking forward to your response, Thanks.
Thanks man🤝
will give it a try tomorrow.
I read where Mike Tyson sprints before his daily runs. So is it safe to say, sprint before or during the run to help fire up the glutes for running duration?
I HAVE to work on activating my glutes more.
When should we begin the acceleration? How far into the run?
That’s a good tip thanks.
What shoes are you using for this video?
Free flyknit 4.0 (the old version, not available anymore)
Thanks bro
Could we also try to do some glute activation before the run?
Hellah my brother, do you ever do ab workouts or it’s been just running. I’m on day 91 of summer running and I see mine showing and haven’t even been doing ab training. Blessings!
You don’t need to do ab training to have your abs show, that is based on body fat percentage.
Facts I just been running everyday and now see much more of my abs and like James Amoh I do no abs workouts
Please give information about hamstring and respiration
Love the shoes.
Lovely you sherin it I whis you best of Luck man 🙂👍
Hi Hellah!, im one of your fan from Indonesia 🇮🇩 , you have inspired me 💯 to run 5k, and i have some question for u, im currently underweight i need to gain like 7 kilograms, should i focused on gaining weight (muscle) in the gym and stopped my daily running because they said if i wanted to gain weight i should do less cardio, or can i do both at the same time? what's your thoughts? my goal is to reach my ideal weight and add some muscle and i wanted to be a runner too, any suggestion? thankyou Hellah
sorry for my bad English
Kalo menurut ilmu sotoy gue, you can hit the gym to gain some muscle, while still maintain your run daily. The most important things is your diet and calorie intake. Semangat terus bro!
I love running 🏃🏾♀️ 5 times a week
let's get it! Love to hear that
greattt
id like to see the pre run glute activation
Awesome

@@HellahGood it's surely is 🥰
I' ve been running for three month, and my present 5k time is 25 mins. Am working on to shave 20 mins. Any tips? My weekly mileage is 25 or 26 miles.
How’s your injury doing man? Hope you’re back to full fitness again
Do a full day of eating and training please Hellah
Hey Hellah! Great video! Btw, the workout you are doing are called fartleks (yes, that’s the real name). I love throwing those into my workouts! Keep up the great work!
No, its Strides.
Sir please tell me . Pain is my glutes muscles please something exercise and tell me i can running. This situation time .What I do sir
Bless you for this man 🙏
Just recovering from hip flexor strain after getting back into running (a little bit of overuse without the best form), but I found that when the problem first started to occur, consciously activating my glutes made a big performance improvement, so this will be a massive help in making sure I'm always working the right way when the runs start again. :D Thanks for sharing this. Great vid
Gonna try this ... !!! Can't wait to see if my bum will be useful!
yes let me know!
Which place is it where you are shooting this video ?
Hey how do you run so much, but still have that lean muscle. Do u also do resistance training with weights?
Yes he does he made a video about it if you look through his older videos.
Спасибо большое!!!
Благодаря тебе я изменил свою жизнь
What if you just engage your glutes while running? I even do it when walking
where is this in america
