What’s up my beautiful people! After running every day for over 3 years I finally learned how to activate my glutes throughout my run (what works for me!). I was so excited that I came in from my run and did another run to share it with you guys. Huge shoutout to Sinead for helping me out with this. Remember, "if you want to go fast, go alone.. if you want to go far, go together." We can learn so much from each other if we're open to it. Let's get it, Let's go!!

I normally sprint after my long runs and I've noticed that I'm less tired during my sprint than during the end of my long runs. You physically explained to me why this is so :) I love the idea of intermittent sprints to "fire-up" the glutes. It just makes so much sense now. This is truly Golden and I will incorporate this into my running routine from now on. Sprinting during a run is like a Booster Shot for correcting Running Form. During sprinting our body automatically corrects for proper Lean and Stride all the while making use of the glutes :) Thank you so much for having me realize this.

This is pure gold. Glute activation is something I've had problems with, literally, for years. I transitioned from a power athlete playing college football into an endurance athlete after I tore my ACL several years back and the fabled glute activation has plagued me ever since, causing IT band problems and hip flexor tightness that required PT, dry needling, and all that good stuff, lol. Can't wait to try this tip out tomorrow morning!

Everyone talks about glute activation like it is hard to accomplish. When you run with proper form your glutes activate. This means tight core. Upright posture. Strong back kick. Not overreaching with your step. Stiff strong legs. Open hips (push butt down and hips forward). You feel it most at faster speeds but most people run with crap form which makes other muscles compensate for glutes. Very hard to activate glute with an anterior pelvic tilt or a whimpy slouched posture.

No clue why but my sprinting speed has literally gone from being lightning fast to a literal jog, i used to have proper strong glutes from running and now when i run they don't even flex and propel me like they used to. I've lost all of the muscle in them now even though i run 3 times a week and i have no idea what to do anymore. This all happened after being in lockdown for 2 months to be fair.

I will try this tomorrow morning - never heard it described like this before!
    John Martin
10/17/22 - well, I tried it out this morning; I sprinted several times on aa 2 mile run, and I did sense a "burning" at the bottom of my glutes. That was something that I don't remember feeling ever before. I'm not sure it helped my speed, but as I remember the run now, at this moment, I don't recall feeling burned out or "dead legged" at any time during the run. Note, I am slow, 70 years old, 205 lbs (down from 255 five months ago), so whether 2 miles or my normal 5 miles, I normally feel sluggish, but today I did not notice it even though I did not notice miraculous speed. So for now I think it has merit - sprinting occasionally to activate glutes.
